Very good price for the room / location - including pool and hot tub - morning breakfast was a little on the weak side - but overall I highly recommend this place for the price.

Pulled back the sheets upon arrival finding someone else’s hair throughout bedding. Something was noted on the sheets too that did not make us feel comfortable sleeping in the room. Went to grab the spare pillow to find it was dirty with something crusty on it. Bathroom was also found to be poorly cleaned.

I arrived very late due to weather. When I arrived, the staff addressed me by name (Note: I have never stayed at this hotel before). My check in lasted maybe 2 minutes which was excellent since I was tired. Even the staff a few hours later at checkout was excellent!!!

It was a great stay but had ant on the bed the second night that I was there and the tv did not work I went down and ask if someone could come and take a look at it but no one show up and so day two ask them again and still no one came :(
But other then that everything was okay

It’s a great place to stay. But when a family emergency comes up and you have to leave past check out don’t expect to get a refund for the day your not going to be there

We visit the property every year. We find it offers value for the price, staff friendly and helpful, facility very clean, attached and nearby restaurants are good. Nice breakfast. Seasonal Decorations are a nice touch.

Friendly people but my bathroom there was blood on the toilet seat lid a little on the wall in the corner by the tub

Altho the room was clean, furnishings were dated and uncomfortable. Included breakfast left something to be desired, but restaurant next door was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

There is a reason the town is called bad axe apparently. The room smelled dirty. The wallpaper was peeling off the room in spots. I ordered 2 hamburgers from the restaurant and waited an hour for the food and didn't even get a discount as the waitress ran to another table. She just gave me the receipt, said sign it and walked away. There was hardly any breakfast. Coffee, breads and some hardboiled eggs. I would not recommed staying here.

Being in the travel business for 24 years and visiting more than 100 hotels globally I can tell you this is one of the worst.
I wont go into the details about everything but I will say this was one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed in.

My understanding is they are new owners. The rates went up over $30 per room the same bad coffee there was no water this morning. Rooms are the same. They’re charging too much for this hotel. A new display in the lobby with vacation literature doesn’t justify raising the prices.

Front desk staff are the best. HANNA AND RIHANA were extremely helpful. Rihanna planned so many activities for both of us including dining and sightseeing around the Thumb. Provided many plans for the exploration of Bad Axe and the entire area. She included literature of the county impressing particular highlights of the area.
Breakfast was average for a quick bite.

We had a great experience except for one customer in the restaurant area was loud and throwing the F word out there a lot was very disappointed. There were probably six waitresses and not one of them asked him to quiet down or leave. I had my younger son with me. I spoke to my son letting him know that to be a man you do not act like that Other than that everything was great!

Given where we were we didn’t have a lot of choices. Amenities were fine although we only stayed one night. Shower walls were scummy and toilet was disgusting. No USB ports for charging. Staff was friendly

Room was clean bed was comfortable. Pillows were average. Only issue was the sink went down really slow and the group of people at the back door with beer cans everywhere and smoking pot and were quite loud.

The hotel allows people not staying at the hotel to pay $7 to use the pool. This made me not want to use the pool…I think it should be for guests only. A family of 5 was paying for pool entry with a baby without swim pants on.
Also the outside garbage can was always overflowing.

There appeared to be mold all over one wall. When I questioned the desk clerk, he said it was wallpaper glue. It looked griss.
The shower faucet was cracked and had a hole in it. We were there two nights, but not all the towels and washcloths we used (4) were taken; one was left.
We tried to get the continental breakfast that was supposed to be provided at 10am. When asked where it was, the desk clerk stated it was gone for the morning.
We need to head back to Bad Axe at the end of September, but will probably try another hotel.

New tile in bathroom, new carpet, new cheap drapes, that was the “renovated” room. No towel bars by sink, no hangars, no luggage racks, a hard wooden chair with bed for three nights stay. Old bedding, no lamp on one nightstand, no charging ports for phone/computer, no desk, no Gideon Bible. At almost $400 for three night stay, VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Outdated and dilapidated. I didn’t expect much and was still disappointed and put off. Some safety issues in the bathroom - loose tiles, missing grout and an unsteady toilet. Furniture stained and dirty…and old rough linens.

I enjoyed my stay at Ameriway Inn. There is a comfortable chair in the room, and the bed is nice. The adjoining restaurant is very convenient.
