The hotel is outdated. The breakfast options are very limited. It is very close to the beach and a supermarket which is a plus.

I got a first floor hotel room without a balcony with a small window with an unappealing view - together with the dated dark décor made it seem dingy. Otherwise it was clean with a nice bath. There's no fridge or kettle so you have to go to the supermarket for drinks. Otherwise a pleasant stay in a very good location. Carcavelos itself is a lot nicer than Lisbon and Cascais as they're not rammed or designed to be catered towards foreign tourists, so you can see locals or Portuguese day trippers doing local things and going to local bars in the evening.

Nice hotel that’s across the street from the beach

The hotel is in a great location. All the common areas are clean. The pool area was really nice. Staff where great. The rooms are a bit outdated but overall for location and price its worth it.

Good location, close to basic stores and to the beach, but the rooms are very old, not well maintained, small and missing basic things (like a door tag). The breakfast room view is great and the quality of the food as well, just not sure if it makes up for a loud ac, squeaky bed and bad pillows.

Nice hotel, close to cascais. Property is old need some innovation.

The heating did not work on the third floor, as well as in several rooms on the 1st floor. But the hotel behaved well and put us on the 7th floor. They were of more value than what we paid for our reservation. Very friendly breakfast waiters and very good service. It is a hotel that clearly has difficulties but the service is good and we must support them. I will return.

2 minute walk to the beach and local amenities including shops, cafes and restaurants. Common areas of the hotel including The Reception and the Restaurant were good. Room quality not so hot although it did have a good bed and a large new TV.

Staff were helpful and welcoming. We had a wonderful sea view on 7th floor. Everything in room worked (except for light bulb in standard light). Breakfast excellent and again wonderful view. Lots of restaurant around corner from hotel. Would definitely stay at hotel again.

I was disappointed when the room was. Not exactly what we wanted This room was older and the TV did not work , I did mention this to reception and they only sent some out the next day , the rest was great

Room in good shape front rooms have great beach view a close walk away. Lots of nearby walkable shopping and restaurants...

What we liked best -- bathtub -- powerful shower faucet (which I miss already) and soaker tub - used both daily. Also liked balcony view of beach. Great breakfast - eggs, breads/pastries, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cheese, crepes, toppings of chia and seeds, etc. Helpful staff, especially front desk. 5 minutes walk to beach, restaurants, grocery shops, bank, pharmacy, etc. What I didn't like -- need to lobby vacuum carpet more frequently, doors jammed (bathroom and balcony) so we just left ajar all the time, tell smokers to stand far away from doors on the outside Overall, happy and safe experience.

It was okay. The hotel is located very close to the beach and convenient for surfers and the min train station is just a km away to get to Belem and center of Lisbon. The amenities were minimal, we forgot our toothbrushes and the dental kit wasn't provided since they dont provide usually.The room was clean and sheets were done every day.The curtains did not cover the entire window and the room was lit entire night to my liking. Elevetors are in the lobby and very convenient to go up the floors. The parking area is behind the block and since it is not regulated, cars are parked hap hazardly and the floor of the parking area is "gravitationally challenged". be careful if you wear heeled shoes or use stick/support to walk.

Charming hotel reminding me of summer holidays in my grand parents house by the sea: A bit dated but comfortable and functional (except air con on first room). Location is excellent but be prepared to hear the odd speeding car or motorbike during the night as in any property near the Marginal Av unfortunately. Breakfast had a good selection and the food was fresh, the breakfast room is on the 8th floor and it had amazing views over the ocean and the coast. We paid a fair price that reflects the condition of the property, only downside was having to change room after the first night due to non functioning air con, second room had a modern air con and it was absolutely fine.

Property is so much older looking than the pictures. The rooms were old fashioned (still with keys, not cards) and even an old sliding lock for the door of the bathroom. Curtain rail in the bathroom kept falling down and was the cheap press on type. Location was fine, but for the price, needs a facelift.

Rooms did not have what was advertised, ie broken air conditioning no mini bar no tea/coffee facilities staff not interested or helpful or friendly, restaurant very poor mouldy bread & fruit at breakfast never been 4* maybe 2* at a push definitely would not return or recommend

Dated property in disrepair but clean and great location across the road to the best beach in the area and walkable to many dining options and grocery, pharmacy, etc. Great breakfast buffet with spectacular view but restaurant closed the rest of the day. No bar or lounge option on top floor or lobby. No snack bar or bar at pool, shade available around pool. Two of the front doors broken and One elevator down for 1 of the 2 week stay. Property is in serious need of upgrades

Very dated but very clean Hotel with comfortable bed, crisp clean sheets and linens. Fresh smelling (even some higher end hotels smell musty but this hotel always smells clean and fresh. Great breakfast buffet on top level with fabulous ocean views. Unfortunately same restaurant was closed for dinners as was the lounge and bar and pool was also closed

Possibly the worst hotel stay ever. Hotels.com should be ashamed of themselves for associating with this property. I want a refund or at minimum a credit for two nights stay elsewhere. Filthy property overall. No pool towels, dirty ring around plastic pool liner, no pool service, no umbrellas, pool lining detached from pool, structural cracks, room not serviced, linens not correct size for bed so bunched up beneath you, shards of glass in tub, door difficult to open every time, no amenities, no bar service at all at pool or elsewhere in hotel, carpet from 1970s and filthy, signage in elevator states times for breakfast, lunch and dinner when in reality only breakfast was available. The only two redeeming qualities was that breakfast was decent and the view from that dining room was nice. The sweet young Brazilian man at the front desk was extremely polite but powerless to do anything about these issues. This hotel, billed as a 4-Star hotel is barely a 1-Star hotel and the pictures online are not representative of the reality. This place is utterly horrible!

The building is extremely run-down on the outside. The rooms are dark, and haven’t been updated in decades. The bed was confortable enough and the shower was hot. The highlight was the descent breakfast buffet with a gorgeous view of the Atlantic from the 8th floor restaurant.
