Great staff but place is run down. If you dont expect much, you wont be disappointed

Coconut’s bar grill right there with live music. Excellent breakfast buffet, in the basement, huge pool, ocean access, convention center within sight.

This our second year staying at Castle in the Sand. Great hotel! Many room options Beachfront, large (Olympic size) clean swimming pool. Clean rooms with microwaves, stove tops, dorm size refrigerators. Great restaurant on property (Coconut's on the Beach) WITH beach service. Highly recommend. Will be back next year!

Cabins not update to date as hoped or pictured, at least the one I got. Moved to the waverly because tenants upstairs were loud all day and night. Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. No attitudes what so ever from them. Friendly staff all around. Great location to the beach. Food was ok.

Only slight complaint was that on one afternoon the water pressure became almost nonexistent.

Great beach location, rooms were clean and comfortable! the bar and restaurants on site were a huge convenience and the staff was great we can't wait to visit next summer!

Had a 2 night stay here, was not bad. Room said queen size bed and im sure that was a full.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and happy hour with music was brilliant. Decor is a little dated but i like a little retro chic.

Pros: Location. 12 blocks from the north end of the boardwalk. Beach. Not crowded at all. Beds. Comfortable. I slept like a baby. Super quiet. We were on the highest floor (5th) and never heard another guest from inside the room. There was a wild party going on at the other end of the same floor we could hear when in the hallway but not a peep once inside the room. Not sure if our closest neighbor rooms were even used though. Staff. Most staff was very friendly and helpful. Like 99%. Pool. Huge. Cons: Maid service. Had to hang the “maid service please” sign on 2 days and they didn’t get to our room until mid/late afternoon both times. Also, only took out trash and switched towels. On 1 day, didn’t even give hand towels or wash cloths. Never vacuumed which absolutely should’ve been done like other places we’ve stayed. Inside room. Trim in bathroom peeling and all interior is out of date. Coconuts restaurant. I was told I couldn’t use the beach waitresses to deliver non-alcoholic beverages. The girl who sat us when we ate was obviously annoyed of anyone being present. She was not the norm from the rest of the staff. Food was nowhere near the caliber of other places we ate. Movie night. The website doesn’t give a true depiction of the screen. The screen is the side of the building but due to the architecture, the forms of the building were in the way. 1 Elevator. We had to wait for a particular staff member, multi times to go from 1 to 2 w/ nothing to do. He just roamed around.

Staff were really super-nice all around.........very helpful and caring. We enjoyed the meals there and the Happy Hour. Pool was fine, Parking was difficult on a few nights. Our room is unfortunately pretty darn "Outdated" at roughly --$400/night No balcony, no Seaview, -- a small microwave, half fridge, tiny coffee-maker an iron, a blow-dryer. Two sinks would have helped out tremendously !!! Bathroom was just way too-too tiny. It had been renovated nicely (except for the black mildew or mold on the wall by the shower-head !!) The bathroom is 5 X 6 with door swinging in it, and all amenities in it. Too small for multiple people.

Parking is a nightmare. Room wasn’t the cleanest. Sand on the kitchen floor and old, moldy coffee in the pot which was gross. Shower had hair on the hairs. Definitely not properly cleaned before check-in. People were nice though.

Pool was great, very clean and excellent beach vibe!

very clean, close to beach, has bar and restaurant.Live entertainment in the evenings, close to food places and shopping. Lots to do and see.. The beds were comfortable.

Great old hotel, obviously quite dated. Pool was good, and every staff member encountered was pleasant and helpful. Rooms and facilities were just a bit aged for my liking.

If you get room 501….i pray for you.

Nice place

This property is in a PRIME location! Right on the beach, affordable, clean and the AC is great. As most of the reviews say it is very dated. The inside of the rooms are better than the outside. My family stayed for the weekend and we had what we needed for our stay.

I have been to the establishment before to the entertainment area. So I was excited to book a room for a reasonable price. Usually hotels by the beach are out of date or have that familiar mildew smell, not this hotel we were greeted from the very beginning handled with care and the cleanliness of the establishment from beginning to end was amazing. 10 out of 10

Good customer service

Suite was spacious and nice. We had one bedroom. The air conditioning didn’t reach the bedroom the way I would have liked. Check in and check out was friendly and fast. Queen beds were comfy. Sofa bed was convenient but typical comfort. Coconuts was great. Friendly efficient staff. Bands were amazing Would definitely come back.

The exterior of the property is pretty clean, the rooms and interior areas could be cleaned a little better. Staff is very friendly and the space was adequate. I would say that the building is getting a little dated and worn out, could use some updates. The pool was very nice.

Perfect place to stay if you are bringing kids! Close to the beach and a ton of activities for the kids to do!

The property has an outdoor restaurant with beautiful flowers, palms, and various plants that are uplifting and give it a tropical appearance. The however food could use improvement. There are planned kids activities 6 days a week near the kid’s tent. My son loved creating a pet seashell with my supervision, of course! The Olympic sized swimming pool was a nice temperature and was clean with lounge chairs around it. We have been there a couple times over the years and it’s been decent each time.
