The Motne Christo Bed and Breakfast never fails it’s always a good nights stay there, friendly staff and just above and beyond.

Even though the room was the tiny room it was cute but the bed was on the hard side so it made it a lil hard to get a good night sleep, other than that I recommend this bed and breakfast, I’ve stayed in other rooms.

Our first night at the Monte Cristo was just awful: we were in an upstairs, back-side room on a warm evening. No ventilation to speak of, and no AC, meant that at 11pm, when it had cooled to 75-degrees outside, our room was 82-degrees. It finally dropped below 76-degrees around 4am. The second night was like night and day: we were moved to a street-side room, airy and well-ventilated, and spent a terrific day and evening there. The breakfast and staff were lovely throughout the visit. I’d recommend the Monte Cristo to anyone wanting to stay in the Richmond District, with the proviso that on a warm night, you ensure a cooler room.

Jack at check-in was very friendly and accommodating. Good and service for breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here on our next trip to see family.

A very quaint boutique hotel, I just loved staying here. I was alone for one night and the queen room was just enough. The dark wood turn of the previous century aesthetic and creeky floors gave it a warm comfy feel to it. Thanks, Paul

We enjoyed our stay at the Monte Cristo. It was very clean and the proprietor was very nice. The only thing I would say is that it was dark due to the decoration. I love vintage, but this was wearing around the edges.

Was a very nice B and B. Quiet room and very good breakfast.

Charming Victorian decor. Good mattress. Nice full breakfast. Coffee, tea and snacks were out for guests to enjoy 24/7.

Great stay. Just be warned that there is no air conditioning. Would definitely stay again.

Easy walk to Golden Gate Park. Very surprised how nice and quiet the neighborhood was. Enjoyed the breakfast variety of fresh ingredients, great beginning of the day. Snack and fudge to die for in the afternoon and evening. A block away from a hip lounge to have a drink and begin your evening. Well be returning !

Everything about this place was great. My weekend would not have been nearly as great if I had stayed elsewhere. Cute and cozy. Incredible staff. The breakfast was delicious.

Loved the decor. There were available refreshments, drinks, etc all day. Breakfast was perfectly served. We enjoyed our stay. Staff was very helpful.

Wonderful stay!

Everything was lovely. There was some maintenance going on while we were there, but it didn't interfere with our stay. Hosts were unobtrusive, and breakfast was lovely. The location was convenient for the things we came to do, and while parking was on-street, we didn't have any trouble finding a spot.

My stay at the Monte Cristo Bed and Breakfast was very nice. The staff was great and super accommodating. It isn't in central downtown San Francisco but public transportation was super close and easy to use to get to the places we wanted to go. The big negative was parking. There is street parking but the car has to be moved according to the street cleaning schedule. The hotel does say that there is a lot close by that could be parked at for a fee but when we drove by it almost looked abandoned and there were very few cars parked there so it didn't seem safe to park. The only other comment my group had was that the breakfast didn't include any type of pastry or sweet item like cinnamon rolls, donuts, muffins...something sweet. This didn't bother me since I'm not a sweet for breakfast person but it was a comment my group made. Everything else was great!

Best place to stay in that area of town! The breakfast is great, the bathroom was beautiful and updated. They were very accommodating when I extended my stay. I would stay here again.

Monte Cristo was extremely accommodating when my co-worker fell ill and ended up needing to stay an extra couple days to recover.

This updated very old building is very comfortable, quiet and private. Rooms are small, but everything is modern - notably plumbing and wiring. There has been a real effort made to retain the prior feel with wallpaper, furniture, carpets, pictures on the wall. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and breakfasts were excellent!

Quaint and comfortable setting in the Laurel Heights neighborhood near UCSF, USF and the Presidio. Staff were all friendly and efficient. Breakfast and homemade snacks were all delicious. We will stay there again

Comfy bed, excellent big bathroom, and delicious breakfast plus very communicative hosts. A perfect stay!

The property itself was charming and warm as was the staff. The continental breakfast was excellent and plentiful as was the availability of snacks throughout the day. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the private bathrooms had the most up to date amenities. I will definitely return to this establishment!
