Lovely warm room in quiet location. Decent breakfast and friendly staff.

Great stay in a landscape that was breathtaking. The staff were helpful, attentive and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. Great breakfast, and likely delicious evening food too. Would recommend if exploring the Peaks or further afield, such as Manchester.

2nd year running we have stayed here for one night. The welcome is lovely, the room was excellent and fairly large compared to say the chain hotels, everything you could wish for provided - kettle, water etc….Food is really good and very large portions so beware you need to be hungry especially at breakfast and not just the “Full breakfast”. Pretty bar and lots of locals dining as it was full on Sunday evening so you need to book the restaurant in advance. Food and beer prices were very reasonable. In a beautiful very quiet location overlooking the hills and horses on the High Peak. Will visit again whenever we are in that part of the UK.

Our third stay here. Room's are lovely, food great and view is fabulous. Interesting walks directly from the door.

We stayed in the Pack Horse for two nights.
We were put into room 1 on the first night.
Room 1 is dated and worn.
The room is very close to the entrance of the pub and it is on the main road side. Making the room very noisy.
I’m annoyed at myself that I didn’t complain immediately and ask to be moved.
We were moved to room 5 on the second night by the very friendly and helpful owner.
Room 5 is the complete opposite of room 1 and it’s like going into the future by 20 years.
The only complaint I could find with room 5 was the window above the bed has a light outside causing light to come in the room.
I fixed this issue at 2am with pillows and towels.
The breakfast on the first morning was very nice as they allowed me and my wife to choose what we wanted and what we didn’t. I don’t know what happened on the second morning but the breakfast just wasn’t as nice and we just got a bit of everything. The coffee was a bit on the cold side too.
The Pack Horse is a very friendly and busy place.

Booked one of the better room and it was lovely and spacious with two armchairs to sit and watch TV. Also had bathrobes and slippers. I was expecting the dinner menu to be more adventurous as recent reviews suggested it was a bit more than just pub grub. However it was just that but perfectly acceptable. Breakfast was good too. We have stayed ther before as we have family in the area and it’s always been consistent

A memorable one week stay. Perfect service and welcoming staff. We hace decided to return next year. Our breakfasts were amazing and the restaurant food is topnotch.

Booked for a couple of nights in room number 11 executive room. Really nice comfortable room, only gripe was the hot water was only tepid not hot.

Wonderful place with friendly staff in a beautiful location. Restaurant menu had wide selection with interesting choices. Food was very good, rooms very clean, and beds very comfortable. Large beer garden. Couldn't ask for more.

First time to an Inn and it was perfect. I would recommend this to anyone. Staff was amazing. Room was excellent. Atmosphere was pleasant. Book early because they go fast. 5 Start Service. Will be my go-to place if I've ever in the area.

We enjoyed being just outside the town of New Mills, beautiful countryside surrounding the inn. Very charming little inn with friendly, helpful staff and very good food.

The food was definitely the highlight to our stay. Fantastic, huge portions, amazing service. Room and bathroom big, cosy. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would recommend and will be back 10/10 thank you.

We loved our stay! The room and location were wonderful. We stayed in an executive double and it was enormous and so comfortable! The staff were so lovely and our meal was delicious as was brekkie. Can't wait to return in summer.

Second time we have stayed here just for 1 night and again our stay was excellent, we had a delicious evening meal even though it was Mother's day we were served very quickly and the food perfect. The staff are always so friendly and attentive.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Pack Horse for a short break to recharge after illness. The pub is primarily an eating establishment which seems to cater for locals as much as the walkers who use it as a base. The food is exceptional and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only very slight issue we had is that the bed in our room (room 8) was as hard as a rock which did not suite us but may suite others. All in all I would recommend a stay here as it is well situated to tour the Peaks.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Pack Horse inn. The first two years ago and both stays have been great. The room is nice and has lots of nice touches. The food is first class and the staff were fabulous, nothing was ever too much trouble and they were always helpful.
Breakfast was excellent, ready quickly like all them meals we had previously and perfectly cooked. I cannot praise this Inn highly enough. We will definitely stay again.

Staff and facilities really great. Everything from help in advance with booking, to small touches in the room (flask of cooled milk instead of UHT pack), guidance on use of facilities, superb breakfast . Thinking of an excuse to be in the area and book again.

Really pleased i found the Pack Horse Inn - the service was extremely friendly & welcoming, the rooms were of a high standard & very comfortable with a lovely shower and the restaurant served traditional & tasty pub grub. Will certainly be visiting again when next in the area.
