I would stay in this hotel over and over again. I stayed on the 2nd floor. If you are on the bottom floor, I am not sure how much of a view you can get. I wish there were a 3rd floor so as a solo female traveler, I would feel safer keeping the sliding door open to hear the ocean. You cannot beat the view. There is a coastal trail that you can walk. There are enough restaurants and things to do. I stayed 2 nights and wanted to stay longer. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Downtown Fort Bragg has a little shopping center that you can walk for boutique stores. There is also a Safeway, CVS within driving distance. 5 stars for sure!!

Very comfortable room. Appreciate that it we were able to bring our pup with us. Love the outdoor fire pits and tables outside our room.

The view was gorgeous the room was not. The walls are paper thin you literally could hear everything. The door had a huge gap and you could hear everything out there. The bed was rock hard and the bathroom was so small you could barely shut the door.

We had an amazing stay!!! Loved everything about this place. The view was beautiful and sleeping with the door open and hearing the waves all night was the best!!

Great place to stay. Very cute and quiet. We picked this place due to it being pet feiendly and it sure is. There is a dog park on-site. They give the pets there own linens and a treat. Almost all the rooms face towards the ocean the the views are great. Very short walk to the beach for activities, mine was surfing but waves weren't cooperating. Still great to be in the water. There is a walk/bike paved trail that goes to Glass Beach. Also EV charging is free if you swing that way. Make sure to pack a NACS to J1772 adapter if you want to charge faster than 3.4 kw/h.

When we checked-in we were able to upgrade to a upstairs suite with a ocean view and hot tub. Beautiful view of the ocean from the deck and even the hot tub.
The staff was very courteous and took care of any issues in an expedient manner!

We really enjoyed our stay here: it was one night of a longer vacation starting in Seattle and ending in Monterey. We loved the location, ocean view and easy parking.

We love the Beachcomber and have stayed there several times. It’s central to Fort Bragg and Mendocino is just down the coast right on Highway 1.
North is MacKerricher State Park and wonderful walks along boardwalks and cliffs. Great places to eat down by the harbor and Headlands coffee house is wonderful for breakfast and excellent coffee.

Just a very crowded area. It’s hard to find anywhere quiet. The rooms are very close together and the balconies are connected so your neighbors are always right next to you.

We chose this place for the ocean view and that was 10/10 beautiful. Average room, but it was clean. AC did not work so stayed warm and stuffy at times for a July night. The central fire pits by the front office were nice and the staff were friendly too.

Double Queen upstairs room had a great view and super comfortable beds, but bathrooms need some updating & road noise was noticeable. The walking/biking path and access to the beach was the highlight! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Staff was unfriendly when we checked in. We booked a downstairs room but we were given an upstairs room. I have knee problem so it’s hard to go up on the stairs. When we asked if they could check again or changed us to a downstairs king bed if they had any kind bed room available. The staff was unwilling to help and all answers from him was a clearly “no” with no patience. I don’t plan to go back to this hotel again.

Things we loved: proximity to the beach, the view was amazing, the staff were all very helpful and kind.
Things to note: this hotel does not have AC, so if you visit during the summer months you will need to leave your sliding door open to let in the breeze (I’d recommend staying upstairs for this reason). The balconies are all very close together, so you can hear much of your neighbors conversations. The hotel rooms are a bit dated, but the view and location are hard to beat.

Bedding was clean. Carpet could have been vacuumed better. VERY small bathroom. No elevator. Definitely not for the handicapped. Not even any ramps.

Good location. Room was very small. I was expecting a fireplace in the room which wasn’t there. Rooms are so close that they were noisy. Neighbors got up at 6:30 and sat outside to talk and drink their coffee with no regard to the people in the room next door.

We typically avoid beach hotels due to poor experiences, but the Beachcomber was excellent! The rooms are average size, and the beds are very comfortable. Wi-Fi works well, and having a refrigerator is an added bonus. Second floor rooms have beautiful views of the ocean, and a walking/biking path as well as beach access are convenient to the hotel. The only negative is the very small bathroom, but it worked fine.

The room we booked was not available. Then they tried to put us in a non pet room and finally in an old dingy room at the end of the hotel with no sliding door.

It was expensive, but had a good ocean view. (Better from second floor than from first.). Very clean, updated room. The bathroom, however, leaves a bit to be desired. If you want a modern, updated bathroom, don’t stay here.
The room got very warm and we did not know how to cool it off other than opening the sliding glass door at night.
Also, our towels were not refurbished.
The tv was very big, but the stations were weird.
But it is a lovely location and, except for the slight caveats above, a very nice, clean, comfortable room
