I expected better from a hotel owned by the Tata group or using the TATA brand. This was perhaps the worst hotel I have seen. The bedsheets were dirty with stain marks.
The room was in a dilapidated condition. Very cramped.

Have stayed here several times. Staff always friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet is very copious with lots of choices. Convenient to Natural History Museum.

Staff was great. Wifi never worked after going to front desk 3 times. Group of young drunk guys in next room and where very noisy.

Reception is really pathetic. They are taking too much time to give the room key. For me that took more than 30 min even if I have submitted all my documents within a min or two.

When we reached it took one hour to check in. They said they did not have confirmation. Expedia's message had not been received by them. Couldn't get in touch with Expedia and the hotel had to be requested to check with their travel partners.
My 81 year old mother also kept waiting as it took one hour to finally get the room.
Restaurant was boring.

The property is under renovation, and does not look like the picture shown. It now has a completely black paint, and has bamboo scaffolding and construction noise. The rooms are designed more for the budget domestic (Indian) traveler, and not for the expatriate or foreign traveler.
The tiny desk had a plastic pull out seat like whats used in events. The 3rd bed we requested and paid for, had a dirty, torn mattress dumped in a corner. On complaining, they brought in a roll on trolley bed, but that did not work, so no use.
The rates they have on Expedia, are DEFINITELY NOT worth it.
The staff is courteous, and the restaurant has a good breakfast and meal options, but the stay was sub-par. They would not allow us to cancel and rebook on another site, and adjacent hotels such as Sosti were MUCH better, and coming at the same price.

Inspite of power failure due to Cyclone Falin, the hotel management kept the DG sets continuously running for the 3 full days we stayed there. We had a very comfortable stay there inspite of the natural calamity and devastation outside

I booked hotel for three guests and requested extra bed, they provided a thin mattress on the floor. I was surprised with that and asked again for rollaway and staff told me hotel does have them.
Next morning I saw a rollaway bed in another room so went to reception and asked for it, again was told that hotel does not have rollaway bed so I told them I just saw one in one of the rooms which they denied at first. On my persistence they agreed to check the other room an then provided me with the rollaway bed on my 2nd night in the hotel.
I do not understand why they lied about it, I made booking for and paid for 3 guests so what was the issue.

I booked 4 rooms in 2 separate reservations, for the same dates. 1 reservation - 3 rooms. Other reservation - 1 room. Some how the reservation was there only for 3 rooms and i got my room keys only at 8:30 p.m....

Bed sheets and covers are unclean and reused. I got a readymade Tea which was cold . Night at 4.40 AM security opened my room , fortunately inside latch was in place . On inquiring He told me that He was testing the card. This means any card can open any room . Lift does not work with room card even if hardware in place . Cleaning all over is shabby

There was rush because of AICOG Doctors event and Restaurant was not managed well. Dinner Buffet was not fresh. Room was overpriced may be because of demand.

All staff good especially the restaurant staff Susanta and raj went out beyond duty to help us our needs . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay will stay here again . I request manager to thank them on our behalf .

The room size is a disaster. I paid Rs 5000 for one night and the room was so small that we barely move around. The flooring and furnishing looked more like a hospital cabin than a hotel room. Never going to opt for Ginger hotel again.

Very Poor Hotel...in my 2 days of stay, could not able to get connected to Internet.Food quality very average. No indian breads, dessert were ready till our food got finished, when opted for Buffet Dinner @ Hotel.Room AC too was not cooling...Will never recommend to anyone.

The hotel is very basic. Has nothing to entice or invite one to stay and hang out. It is the kind of place where you only sleep. If you happen to have a few extra hours to kill, it is not a place you want to hang out. There is nothing to do, nowhere to sit. The restaurant is OK, simple, solid Indian food. The hotel is clean, but very cold, no atmosphere. I would not recommend staying there unless you plan to be out from the minute you get up till you go to bed.

I had heard a lot of Ginger brand and syated the 1st time. Somewhat of a disappointment. Yes no frills is fine but then the quality of no frills cannot be compromised. Efficient and attentive staff but the quality of the room condition, bathroom etc leaves much to be desired. The cost through Hotels.com is poor value for money. I had to stay the 2nd nigh and opted out and stayed at Hotel VITS- such a pleasure at a lower cost, better rooms, free breakfast spread. To have this from house of TATA's is a disappointment to say the least. Unlikely to try Ginger again. Service no doubt acceptable

the rooms are sparsely furnished and a little small. However basic necessities are present. Cleanliness is good. Fairly good for a business trip but sub-optimal for a leisure trip.

We are a mature couple from UK, stayed there for 5 nights in December 2012, it was booked through a different travel company after I checked the details of the hotel on the Internet. I booked another room in the same hotel through Hotel.com for my brother who came to see us from our home from a nearby state in India on 11th December. We found the hotel very satisfactory, the room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. This particular hotel in Bhubaneshwar was oped about 6 years ago and the door and some small areas in the room needs a coat of paint. Although the bathroom was very clean with modern fittings, the nooks and corners need a bit more thorough cleaning. Having said that, it was still very well maintained over all. The hotel had a good restaurant with excellent choices of food. We did not need to go out to eat but there are plenty of choices in the neighbouring area. The airport was very close, took about 20 mts for our return trip. They have a travel desk and air conditioned cars were easily booked through them for our trip to Jagannath Puri and Konark. We are very satisfied with the hotel. Ginger is a chain of hotels with other places in many places in India
