The highlight of this property is the staff and the location. Beautiful gardens, sea front pool and bungalows.Note: there is no beach at this property. But you are right in front of the sea.The property has been fully refurbished less than a year ago so everything looks good. The decor is lovely, amazing gardens.The staff is extremely accommodating, welcoming and just lovely to deal with.We stayed at the Ocean view bungalows - incredible! You wake up with the sound of waves and birds. Just amazing!My only comments would be:The bathroom floors are extremely slippery when wet.There was sometimes an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. But it wasn’t constant so couldn’t really understand why.Breakfast is good. There could be some improvement on bakery goods. But they have an amazing selection of asian and western breakfasts. We really liked the guava juice.We ate at the restaurant one evening and it was ok, but our most expensive meal during our stay. There are a lot of restaurants close by that offer a free pickup/drop off service for dinner.Overall we would recommend Nirwana Beach Resort!

The resort and the grounds are lovely and meticulously maintained. Absolute waterfront position... stunning. Staff couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. While it is a little way out from the main restaurant strip, the resort can organise transport at a very small fee or restaurants offer free pickup and drop off service.

Gorgeous serenity a world away from crowded Kuda or Ubud. Stayed 10 days and wished we hadn’t already paid for another 10 days elsewhere. Staff is the best and we hated having to leave their kindness and personal service. Can’t go wrong.

We loved the ocean at our doorstep and the quiet and excellent service. We stayed on site for 2 full days and even with one resraurant only we had great variety and perfect service. Great villas. Great pool.

This is a fantaatic resort to chill at with the ocean at your doorstep. Staff are fantastic and thoughtful. Lotsof nearby acrivities and amenities but we are happy to have 48 hours and not leave the resort!

Resort is down a deserted lane well off the road making it inconvenient. Food at Resort is poor which is made even worse because it is inconvenient to get to town. More free water should be given because of this as well.Not good value for money compared to other resorts in this class in Bali.

The pool is reasonably maintained & is perfectly positioned facing out to the ocean. The rooms are very comfortable for the price. The gardens & grounds are very pretty & we'll maintained. Would highly recommend a massage at the Spa, we had one every day!

Staff is friendly but they could not charge our food purchases to my credit card at checkout because the machine didn't work so I lost out on a lot of points. Their restaurant is really good. I've stayed at many locations in Bali, though the staff at this resort were sincere, kind and knowledgeable. Breakfast, lunch and diner are tasty and lots of choice. The mocktails and cocktails they serve are also worth trying. The garden and swimming pool area are beautifully landscaped We received an room upgrade and that was a warm welcome.

We had a lovely stay the staff really looked after us for all our needs even checking that we had our breakfasts.

Had to ask for bedding to be changed on arrival as dirty brown stain on sheets. Room was dusty and there were drapes hanging over the bed that were ripped; and filthy. Couldnt wait for the one night stay to end, No access to the beach from resort. Unable to go for a walk as the road in was littered with stray dogs and chooks. And the resort on a cliff so cant go anywhere. Very unpleasant stay for what we paid

We had an ocean view room, to be fair it looked like most rooms faced the ocean so not sure the extra was merited. The ocean noise sounded like a thunderstorm crashing all night so may cause sleep problems. The waves are big here and you cannot swim in the sea. The hotel grounds were immaculate bar a few incidents of cat excrement on the grass. Pool was nice. Breakfast was to order and reasonable although our "healthy choice" muesli was dry and tasteless. The room was good but again a small makeover would up things that extra level.

Very Nice hotel and good for just taking it easy. But... Surroundings have a lot of plastics next to street. Our trip to coral reefs outside was a shock. They are almost dead.

Spent 6 nights to chill out.. resort is a little dated but maintained well.. staff are excellent - they seem to appear when you need them, without hovering.. menu was great and prices very reasonable... We used our own driver for a couple of day trips to Ubud and local villages and transfers... We stayed in an ocean view bungalow - resort is well set out so you have privacy but good access to pool, restaurant and gardens...

Staff was friendly, breakfast ok, villa very nice. only minus that hotel dont offer any transfer to Candidasa or to the nearest beach (30min by car) and taxi very expensive there

The hotel staff were very warm, check-in took less than a min and they were ready with all necessary details regarding our room. The property is beautiful and treat to a nature lover and a romantic. The room was clean and had everything well arranged to our comfort. The restaurant was a little over priced but food was good. Overall I am satisfied with my stay and would recommend this place as long as you are not bothered about the initial 350mtrs to the hotel. Note: At night going out on your own may be an issue because there is no lights on the road from Hotel entrance to the main road.

A real gem in candidasa. Dont expect a resort but a great boutique hotel with great service and friendly staff.

Stayed at Nirwana from 17th - 20th June (4D3N).Pros:Beautiful swimming pool, facing ocean. Friendly hotel staff who are always ready to serve. All hotel staff greets customers with a smile. Romantic and comfortable bed with mosquito netting as curtains. Large room and a balcony for relaxing and drying towels / clothes etc.Cons:During my last night stay, the air con started spitting our shaved ice. which gave my partner and I a shock. It happened several more times until I increased the temperature from 19 degrees celcius to 23? 2 large lizards lived on the roof which is very disgusting as the lizards would excrete their wet waste which lands on the floor. We noticed this on the last night which made everything in the roof feel very dirty.Improvements: Perhaps the hotel could consider having a yoga class where customers can join in? This would add dimension to the activities other than just lazing at the pool.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Karangasem area, look no further. On my recent trip to Bali I stayed in 4 different hotels throughout the island. Nirwana Resort and Spa was by far my absolute favorite. I only spent 2 nights here, but wished we had stayed longer. The resort is beautiful, lush and tropical. Beautiful rooms and bungalows. The infinity pool with a view of the South Pacific Ocean was breathtaking. The sounds of cascading waves filled my bungalow and lulled me to sleep at night. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and went out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this hotel!

Quite acceptable four star resort spoilt by poor wifi, reception lady, and hopelessly overpriced spa. Resort is isolated and shutter service effectively non existent. Food was good. Staff in F@B and Housekeeping were very good but Spa staff and some reception staff either need moving on or retraining.

It is utterly ridiculous that the Nirwana Resort and Spa be advertised as a 4,5 star hotel. We stayed 3 nights there. On the first night we were in the bathroom having a bath after a long day of travel when my partner noticed a shadow moving by the window. The venetian blinds were closed but there was still space between the slats and the window wasn't frosted as one might have expected in a bathroom. At first we thought it was nothing but then he saw the shadow move again and ran out to confront whoever it was spying on us in the bath! Turns out it was a member of the hotel's staff who after initially denying it, admitting to spying on us and apologised. We decided after his apology not to tell the manager as we did not want him to get fired. However, this was not the end of the hotel staff's indiscretions. A member of the restaurant staff subsequently decided it was his business to ask what had happened when his friend had spied on us in the bath and later told me when my partner was not around that he had looked my name up on the hotel computer (he was restaurant staff and had no business checking my details for any personal reasons) and wanted to be "friends" with me on facebook!! The restaurant serves very low quality food with rice that has started to go black at the ends and wilted salad. My Partner spent the first night with severe diarrhea. The hotel looks the part but the staff had no boundaries and I certainly did not feel comfortable nor completely safe there.
