Located a short walk to the main beach and town, didn’t use the pool. Bed was comfortable and shower hot and powerful. Some areas of the room looked dated but overall a good stay for the price.

It was an ok place to stay. The staff were super nice and friendly everyday we saw them and helpful. It was generally clean but not thoroughly clean. There were signs of that. The 2 rooms we stayed in were in need of repair. It came across as Maintenance is not a priority. Some cupboards were either broken or really old and needed to be replaced. Some hinges also needed to be replaced.

Nice clean rooms with kitchen facilities. Staff is very friendly and can speak English. I would definitely visit again and recommend to everyone.

Good basic hotel with a nice pool area. Place in the hotels.com map is wrong. It is bit further from the beach that map shows.

Good size room with very comfortable bed and large separate bathroom. Large balcony with cooking facilities but no plates or cutlery provided. Very friendly staff - quickest check in I have ever had. Many English channels on the tv and good wifi in the room.The roof top pool is quite small and does not have much shelter from the sun. Hot water in the shower tended to come and go a bit.The only real problem was that the hotel is NOT where shown on the map on all the web sites. It is several hundred metres further down the road. It is at least a 10 -15 minute walk to the beach along a very busy road with few footpaths. I hired a motor scooter!!Overall a good hotel . It seems a pity that they try and deceive people by showing the wrong location. I would not have booked it if I had known the true location!!

Theres a great, cheap laundry service right across the street, and a beautiful mountain view from the rooms. A wonderful place. The only downside is that their restaurant isnt the best quality, and I am 80% sure I got food poisoning from eating there. It could have been from somewhere else though.

We booked the hotel thinking that it is near the beach but it in fact a 10-15 minute uphill/downhill walk with no proper pavements. The staff are friendly and helpful but the hotel is let down by the poor condition of the room. The room/bedsheets had a smell (maybe from mothballs?). The bed was uncomfortable and had a hole in the centre of the bed. You can even feel the bed springs poking into your back. We were informed that there will be a power cut at 9am the next day but were not told of a water cut. We were due to check out that day and i needed a shower in the morning because our flight back was at 10pm. We have to buy gallons of mineral water so that we can take a shower. Nothing that they can do about this, unfortunately, but we were told about the water, we would have woken up much earlier in the morning to have a shower.

Apart from no water pressure at all in shower, It is clean, cozy and comfortable!

Restaurant very good but room disappointing. Only recommendation is the cheap rate.

The staff at Kata Studios are laid back and there are no sales pitches for anything (which is a refreshing change in Thailand). The queen bed in my studio was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever stayed in - both firm yet soft. The balcony kitchen is great if you want to prepare your own food but after sampling the food at the restaurant attached to the Hotel I didnt bother. The Capricorn restaurant was fantastic, fresh, and cheap as chips. The rooftop pool and spa is awesome and if you prefer the beach then it is a ten minute stroll down the hill. I hired a moped from a place a few doors up and was at the beach in 30 seconds. The stay was very relaxing and I wouldnt hesitate to come back here again. Thankyou !

Nice rooms with balcony in good condition. Friendly and service minded staff.Great recreational area with bar,swimming pool and pool table on roof top. Good value for money,I would definitely go back!

About ten minute walk to beach. Some rooms face noisy street with motorbikes cruising by, but ok for sleeping. Expensive for the quality but I was there Chinese New Year so everything was overpriced.

Cheap price great hotel. Could make some improvement on the breakfast. Hotel room was big wifi signal good. Swimming pool good. Nearby to convenience shop. Far from beach. 15mins walking, 5 mins motorbike. Worth it hotel if you are on budget and willing to cook during your holiday.

This place was a bargain as it is a 15 minute walk from the beach. It's great for backpackers as you get some privacy with a self-catering outdoor kitchenette (two hot plates and a fry pan, microwave, fridge). There are many convenience stores nearby so you can fry up your own breakfast easily. The room was very clean and made every day if needed. There is also a nice swimming pool on the top level, perfect for lazy mornings.

Very reasonably priced hotel. Very good service. Laundry is reasonably priced. Room was beautiful. Only stayed three nights but could have stayed there longer. Only about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach/main restaurant/shop area. Always left us bottled water in the minifridge. Internet was good and free. There were a few mosquitos that got into the room but they were never really a bother. Was suprised by how nice the room was, knowing what we paid. Due to our flight, we arrived at 2 am and they had our room ready and brought our bags up quickly so we could get to bed. Breakfast was good. My wife and I fully recommend this hotel for travelers on a budget.

the only problem with this hotel is its location, if you are not concerened about walking for a few minutes to get to the beach this is not a problem. clean and friendly, with a very nice pool at the roof of the hotel.
