Excellent stay. Breakfast was better than the name brand hotels. View was awesome. Very friendly service with a smile - all the time. Only negative is the mattresses probably need replacing.

We had a great stay! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach is just a few steps away. Both pools and hot tub were nice.

This room had a very musty smell. The bed covers were wet with all the moisture in the air. This hotel pictures were so miss leading.

Very nice room with comfortable beds. The breakfast selections were good with attention to replenishing the food items. However after the first night no one entered our room to replace the coffee packets or the towels

We loved the location, the private path to the beach, and the outdoor shower. Really centrally located for the activities we had planned. Housekeeping needed to do a better job between us and the previous occupants of the room, but we spoke with the front desk and they will work on better supervision of the housekeepers. The breakfast provided left a lot to be desired, so we ate breakfast out half time. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful room with ocean view? /balcony. The beds were incredible and the devor was perfect. Definitely plan on returning.

Second year coming to this hotel in the OBX. Always a great stay.

Overall we were very happy. 4th floor great view. My only issues were the soft beds, poor quality bed linens, towels and even toilet paper. Both beds were very soft and it’s probably time they be replaced. The linens and towels are very rough and poor quality. Ever the toilet paper was so rough it made it hard to wipe (just dab). For the money they charge, they can afford to make some improvements. With that said I’d still consider staying again just bring my own linens and tp.

I love this hotel! This year was my third stay in a row. The location is fantastic. Plenty of restaurant options and shopping close at hand. Best of all it's right on the beach with its own private beach access. My favorite part is that it is small, so it doesn't feel chaotic like a lot of the larger chain owned properties. The staff is friendly, helpful and always attentive to any need. The rooms are always clean and are well appointed. I like to stay in the "Tower" building which has an elevator and luggage carts to get me to my room with a balcony and view of the ocean on the third or fourth floor. Shutters on the Banks is another hidden treasure of the Outer Banks. I'll be back again next year!

Adjoining rooms already booked but they were able to keep our 2 rooms close together! Had pool time and appreciate the cleanliness.

This was our first visit to this property and from the online photos it looked perfect. Get to the property and went to check in and was told it would be ready by 4pm and that I would get an email stating the status. Never received an email and came back an hour later and still was not ready. Get inside the room and the front door was stuck and you had to put your hip into it just to push it open. The room I booked stated that it would be “overlooking the dune” only to see that it is facing a wall with grass. The room smelled bad and was dirty and very outdated. Went to the office to let them know about my experience and was told nothing could be done. I’m very pissed because I paid a lot of money for a 2 day stay only to get trash!

parking was very easy to find. view of the beach and sunrise/sunset was amazing from the top floors. 10/10 would come here again!

We stayed in a third floor oceanfront room that had a private balcony with a spectacular view. There is no view from the lower floors. The beach access is very nice and convenient and there are two showers for washing off sand and salt.

The toilet kept clogging and didn’t flush everything down. The last night we had to get a maintenance man to come in on his off time to unclog the toilet at 10pm. It was the third time the toilet was plunged that day. The exhaust fan didn’t work in the bathroom, and we asked them to fix it. They had the maintenance man in our room for that, and he left a mess on the floor in the bathroom. Housekeepers don’t speak English, so my husband had to find someone that spoke some English to tell them we needed a plunger. The first night there was a party at the pool with guests drinking alcohol. Not safe with little kids swimming. What if they needed help swimming or started to drown? Who was going to help them? Their intoxicated parents?

I loved this hotel. I love continental breakfast and the beach is 1 minutes from the room. I would ask to stay on the 3/4th floor if I go again to see the ocean from the balcony. The pools were great and I like the gym as well. Very affordable and the beach is private

The room, the ocean view, the free breakfast, the staff - all of these areas were excellent. The one BIG minus is the outdoor pool. It is tiny, not very deep and dirty. After going the first day, my grandson and I never visited it again for the week we were there. The indoor pool is totally fine, but I like to get sun at the pool. Sadly, this one area is the reason I will not stay there again.

Loved the balcony on the water. The room was nice but no mirror in the bedroom, only the bath. My only complaint.
