It was a neat experience to stay in this beautiful old seminary. I had a private room, very plain, but with 3 windows overlooking a courtyard. Bed and pillow had rubber coverings to deter bedbugs, and there were clean sheets placed in the room for you to make your own bed. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean - gracias! This facility was designed as a place to rest and reflect, which one could do easily as the sleeping floors were silent and there were no TVs or distractions. I enjoyed the mix of international people young and old staying here.

It was ok staying there. I had a private room. The Seminary building is huge and beautiful architecture. It was cold, I ask for another blanket and the guy in reception gave it to me very kindly. All people who work there are very nice and friendly. It is 13-15 minutes walking to the cathedral. The path to go there is nice. It makes you feel you are doing the “Camino de Santiago” because you walk the last stretch of The Camino

Good value for money and within 15 minutes walk of most things.

The reception staff were fantastic. They stayed till past closing time as we couldn’t get a taxi easily from the station. The reception staff were always helpful and smiling. The room was good for the price, but I had a chipped sink and water leaked onto the floor.
The blankets were not fresh, but the room was clean. The toilets need to be refreshed/cleaned more often as a bad smell permeated out.
Lovely building and surrounds

If you are a Camino Pilgrim and cannot get a room at the Seminario Mayor (San Martin Pinario) then I recommend the Seminario Menor. That is how I ended up there. I stayed at San Martín Pinario in 2019 upon finishing the Frances and I stayed here a few days ago in Sept. 2021 at the end of the Camino Primitivo because I waited too long to try to get a reservation. After two weeks of bunk beds in shared albergues a private room was a luxury. But only to someone who has been on the Camino - don’t stay here just to save money unless you are a pilgrim. For 17 euros a night I got a small room with a twin bed, disposable sheets, a sink, a desk, closet, chair and a pretty nice view. The bathrooms and showers are shared and not much better than a typical albergue. The building is beautiful from the outside but about 1 km from the Cathedral. I didn’t mind a little walking after the 350 km I’d already walked. The biggest plus for me was I could stay two nights unlike most albergues. If none of this makes sense to you, don’t stay here. If you get what I’m talking about I hope this review helps. It was a nice way for me to end this Camino.

Large Old Building a short walk across a grassy valley to the centre of Santiago de Compostela. The private room I stayed in was very basic with a basin but wonderful views of the courtyard gardens & beyond. Shared bathroom and large well equipped kitchen downstairs next to a store which stayed opened late & served soup etc. The dormitories were very large (but the pilgrims were used to that) and the kitchen could become crowded with groups of pilgrims arriving.

This property is in a monastery;so if you don’t want to live like a monk don’t book this place!Seriously this is a big hostel with many dorms and rooms and lots of people young and older. If you want a quiet stay you want a single room.A good value accommodation with parking and not too far from the railway station.I’d stay there again.

The place is huuuge with sooo many pilgrims but it's superclean and very well organized. Good location, close to center and the cathedral. Has a small supermarket inside, but there are many others nearby. The kitchen is well equipped.

It was a good place to finish my walk. I liked that you could choose a single room for not much more than a dormitory, which was basic but comfortable. The building is appropriately atmospheric and had most of the facilities a backpacker needs. Mixed showers and toilets. Easy to book an extra night, but then it was the end of the season.

After 5 weeks hiking the Camino del Norte, the seminary is perfectly adequate, with facilities that are cleaned daily, clean sheets provided for bed, a restaurant and washing facilities in the basement. Its in a lovely location and the building is historic. The main issue is the acoustics of the building and other travelers who ignore all the signs asking for quiet in the sleeping areas and silence after 11pm. Unfortunately, it only takes a few people to wake you up every couple of hours with either banging doors or talking loudly in the corridor (or on mobile phones in rooms - its easy to hear through the walls, even a few doors down) to really ruin your stay - not being able to get any sleep makes everything else seem worse than it is.The staff were helpful, though, and the seminary is in a great location to find local markets, the Cathedral, Park Almeda and other great things to see and do once in Santiago.
