Staff friendly, rooms clean comfortable and quiet (we stayed mid week). Location is fantastic, brief walking distance to town/shopping, Salamanca markets, and the Harbour.
Complimentary breakfast was tasty too. Only downside was the cost for parking :(

Love this hotel, very central to many things (shops, restaurants, bars, Salamanca Markets, Battery Hill). It’s a very old building but rooms are refurbished and mostly well maintained and comfortable. Little bit neglected with cleaning this visit (lipstick still on a mug, 1 teaspoon for 2 people, bit of mould in the shower) but not deal breakers. Inclusion of breakfast is our favourite thing, and it’s very good! Staff in the restaurant were friendly & welcoming, especially the hostess who greeted us and took our orders, she was amazing! Overall a good option if you enjoy the waterfront, walking to places and somewhere that’s pretty good value.

It was lovely to be back at Customs House. it is very friendly hotel with fun quirky rooms, a great location and a very tasty breakfast included. Just be aware you sometimes need to carry your suitcase up some short stairs.

Always, always read the lowest ratings first.
Decent hotel but the location is the issue. Fine during the week but come the weekend evenings and the area turns into a rave party atmosphere. The Customs House hotels' bar downstairs plays thumping music to the wee hours and the drunken hoards from the bars and clubs in the area roam the streets as cars cruise around revving their engines. You wont sleep! This is all normal and has been going on for years. DONT stay here on the weekends if you want to enjoy your holiday.

Old style accommodation and bit of music noise before 11pm but not enough to keep awake or be an issue. Very good breakfast.

We loved our stay here for 3 nights. The room was great, had a harbour view. Could hear the downstairs pub in the evening but it was ok. Breakfast was also great each morning included in the price. Only downside was parking, we had a rental car and you have to pay to park across the road, but I would recommend to do this rather than risk a fine in the metered areas.

Our receptionist Norie was lovely, she arranged for a room change as our first night was very noisy above the bar. Lovely old hotel.

Food was very nice in the restaurant, breakfast included. My only complaint is no parking, we had to park 20 minutes walk away on a Friday evening & move the car early in the morning

The location of this hotel is perfect to explore Hobart. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel is a modernised old building with the normal quirks of stairs and sloping floors but the views are great and access to a guest laundry is wonderful for the traveller.

Smallish room provided, with dated amenities. Room was clean, bed and mattress good quality. Great location. Breakfast included with price. Can't complain especially for $150 a night. Sky bus to airport bus stop was a 30 second walk way. Would book again.
