Beautiful area as its right next to the river. Has a homely feel and staff are all lovely.

very friendly staff, room was basic but apart from water pressure in shower was perfect for overnight stay. Dinner was nice albeit not much choice. Breakfast was excellent. All things considered would return.

Staff great and friendly, excellent breakfast as usual, but toast dropped from breakfast this time? Informed bar was closing at 10pm half an hour before, and hotel bar would be locked up, big disappointment, after all we go away, to have a few drinks,not to have to go to your room or stay outside after 10pm! Unfortunately wont be going again purely for this reason! pity as we liked it here!

Aside the room being a bit tired & the mattress uncomfortable - everything was fine. The member of staff working in the bar on arrival was particularly helpful.

Only downside was the 1 hour breakfast window. Rest was top notch. No complaints. Karen was very helpful.

Very friendly staff

On arrival the front of staff was very friendly and welcoming. The place itself and location is picturesque and has good potential. However, the room (kingfisher) is very tired and needs updating. The bathroom ceiling leaks when it rains, hence the container on the floor!! As for the food, terrible, the management have seriously let the staff down. The choices are basic and only half of the options available. The website showing a chef in white is misleading. I would give the food a wide berth and eat elsewhere as we did on our 2nd night. The landlords which is a brewery beginning with R has seriously let the staff and public down by their lack of interest, direction and investment. If it wasn't for the staff, I would be asking for a full refund as the place is not worth it

Photo was misleading for a normal double bed, but comfortable room. Evening food very disappointing with only Pizza available which was overcooked as were the cheesy chips which by no means were gooey and unctious, However, beer was amazing. Breakfast as always was outstanding as was the chef that served breakfast.

Nice location and staff food menu limited at time of stay, water leak through bathroom celling fan was not offered an alternative room on a 2 night stay, I would stay here again.

Very clean stayed in small room breakfast very good staff polite and helpful only negative they were not serving food in restaurant but did suggest a restaurant a short walk away for evening meal .

Exactly what we needed after a day on Dartmoor. Friendly welcome, great service and food. Took the Dart room, wonderful panoramic view of the (very, very high!) River Dart beneath the window. Quaint, cozy and warm. We will stay again.

Warm and clean, adequate for one night. I paid extra for breakfast, but was told breakfast does not start until 8:30am and I had to leave the hotel at 7:30am. I was told this is ok as cereals and juice etc (cold breakfast) is laid out the night before and will be available for me to help myself before I leave. Unfortunately when I left the property the door to the hotel/bar/pub eating area where breakfast is served was locked. So paying for breakfast was a waste of money! Not great service....

Absolutely great stay at the Abbey Inn really comfortable and so peaceful and quiet and the staff are just delightful so friendly and welcoming and really make your stay that extra special.

Excellent value Great Breakfast: full English freshly cooked included in the reasonable room rate. Friendly staff, early check-in was no problem. Definitely will return here
