Friendly staff, clean & great location

Expensive for what I get

The Beach House was clean with all the amenities we needed eg kitchen, chill out spaces, balcony overlooking the beach. The host was lovely and very customer focused but it’s the ambiance of this lovely old building I love the most.

Very nice stay here. Great Ocean views, clean room and shared bathrooms, well equipped kitchen. Easy walk to beach, shops and Cockle Train station.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, creating an environment that was also noticeable among guests. Great place to stay

Such a beautiful location, and great hostel - just so easy to walk up to the shops for anything you want. View is amazing!

See it for yourself why most of the reviews are saying this place is Excellent and Superb. Absolutely clean/comfortable bed&bedsheets. Location is perfect. Enjoy the view from the balcony. The only let-down are other guests who do not respect house rules of quiet time at 10pm - 8am; shower on the other room can be heard on the other room so it's important guests should abide by the rules to not disturb others during sleeptime. This factor is not under the management control as they've done their part clearly stating the house rules even upon check-in. The host is so kind to show me each part of the hostel. As a first-timer in a hostel, this place totally deserves its exceptional spot. Will stay again in the future.

Very neat and comfortable place to stay, right in front of the beach with a beautiful view. Very clean, quite and thought through property. Friendly owner, easy parking, excellent accommodation option in a naturally beautiful location. Absolutely recommended for a short or long stay if you are here to enjoy the area and the ocean. I wish I could stay here longer.

Loved the location. Surfing carnival was on while we were there with a house full of children screaming and drunk parents.. not the best experience because of that. I wish we were told that was happening as not very fair to other guests. It was too late to book elsewhere when we arrive. Kids were up at 6am making a lot of noise...

Wonderful location and views. Room and shared facilities were very clean with clear instructions on what was expected. Nice, friendly atmosphere.

We had a family room which was roomy with high ceilings. The building was beautiful and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. You could walk to town and the beach. A really lovely area.

The Port Elliot YHA was a fantastic surprise for our family. We had room 9, which was spacious, clean and had a great view. There was a double bed and bunk bed in the room, plus we noticed a rollaway under the double bed (which we didn't need). The manager was really friendly and helpful with everything, and all the facilities were clean and tidy. The bathrooms were shared, very clean and never an issue with showers etc as it was never crowded or an issue to get a shower when you wanted to. All linen and towels were provided. All guests were courteous and respectful of each other and there was no noise or bother from anyone. The kitchen area and dining area were great (although we didn't use them, but they were clean, big and seemed to have anything you might need if you were cooking for yourself). There were BBQ's out the back, and a small verandah which was just off the games room (basic but good). The location is fantastic and there are places to eat just down the road. The Retro cafe was terrific as was the pub, one block down (the YHA had vouchers for cheaper meals). Port Elliot was a lovely little place, and we preferred it over busier Victor Harbor (although that was nice too). I would 100% go back again, and would request room 9. Loved it there and would absolutely recommend it to anyone! What a great experience for us.

This hostel is right on the water, with spectacular views. The building is historic, but it has been completed refurbished and is immaculate! Everything has been styled, updated, and well-thought-out. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and fun. The kitchen was huge and almost like cooking in a gourmet kitchen. Tons of extras. Only complaint was the bunk bed mattress, which was hard foam and not comfortable.

Hostel was clean and in very good location close to the beach. Kids loved the games and table tennis.
