We booked this hotel at the last minute when we had to suddenly make changes in our travel. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Exactly what we needed!

Clean and quiet. Perfect for a short stay. Short drive from the airport. We advise at our arrival that we needed to leave early the following morning and the staff prepare a lunch bag with fruit, juice and sandwich to pick up when we left. Nice attention.

The hotel served the purpose of our one night transit for our next day travel home. The front desk clerk is very nice, also the two ladies serving in the bistro.

The hotel was in a good location with easy access to the freeway. Room size and amenities were good and it was clean and comfortable. Parking was very convenient. We had a busy schedule, so we didn't have breakfast or use the bar area. We did go to the Vellir Sports & Grill bar in the same building which had good burgers and beer.

Comfortable and quiet hotel that sufficed for our two day trip around Iceland. Comfortable beds, a hot breakfast, and plenty of hot water. My only change would be to install black out curtains as it was a challenge at times to sleep in the summertime due to it never getting dark.

Simple, fairly clean, provided the basics required in a room. Fitness facilities very good compared to other hotels. Breakfast extremely disappointing. We plan on returning to iceland and would stay here again but the breakfast needs to be significantly improved (scrambled eggs, bacon, cold cereal… items provided in most other 3star hotels).

The hotel is easily accessible from the highway with a vehicle. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Upon request, they are able to provide bagged breakfasts to go if you are leaving before their breakfast starts. Without a vehicle the dining and shopping options around the area are limited. It is a little warm, and you will need to open windows to cool the room down a bit. There are no usb plugs in the room that I could find. Best to bring an adapter. Also, the pillows could be refreshed. They’re very flat and flimsy.

This property was perfect if you had a rental car with extremely close and good parking. If you want everything within walking distance then this is too far out of the way.

East check and check out. Easy parking. Breakfast staff were on top of it.

Little bit noisy along the main road

On a tight budget with a 1 night layover in Iceland, we needed a clean, safe guest room and got that plus a wonderful staff. BUT, isolated in a mostly industrial area with a 1.4 mile hike to the nearest Flybus stop for airport transfers, because of the icy winter conditions, we opted for a taxi with a costly cab fare. I would think if we had more time to explore and a rental car 9which we cancelled given concerns over the recent seizmic and volcanic activity, and unfamiliar roads) I'm sure we would have been fine. We did get to use to Reebok facility next door for free and it was wonderful, uncrowded and great for the fitness minded.

Wife and I were staying in room 429. We had the most painful toilet seat we have ever experienced. It left marks on our thighs and butts in just a few minutes and it painfully stayed for a long time after. I’m not sure if all the rooms have the same type of toilet seat, but ours was very sharp edged. We also attempted to use the kettle that was in the room. We checked it and put water in it, to clean out the kettle before use. We were so lucky we did that because this insect came out with it, into the sink. I’m not familiar with the insects here but it looked like a bed bug the size of a US dime. Needless to say, we did not use that kettle again.

Great hotel! We enjoyed our stay here while visiting Iceland. Breakfast was very convenient and nice to get an early start on our day. The staff was nice when we had questions. We loved our room, very spacious with blackout curtains. My one complaint was the comforter for our double bed was just two twin comforters. Otherwise we loved the hotel and even saw the northern lights from it!

Great stay, however, they should have usb ports in the rooms for conveniences for visitors.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Vellir. It’s not far from the Keflavik airport and you can get into the centre of Reykjavik by car. We were upgraded on arrival so had a room with windows along both sides which was a nice surprise. Our thoughts: - Room was stylish, comfortable and clean. - Towels were very small. - Blackout curtains in the room were great. - Breakfast was the same everyday (cold continental buffet plus DIY waffles). - Staff were generally helpful and friendly. Our added bonus was that we saw the Northern Lights from the hotel room one night!
