What a lovely hotel! Rooms and bathrooms are large. Beautiful view from our patio. Pool area is just lovely. It was easy to walk to Saint Paul de Vence every day - many options for great restaurants. So far, my favorite part of our trip.

We had an amazing stay! The best hotel we’ve experienced in France so far. Great view overlooking the village and the Mediterranean Sea. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. We can definitely recommend the balcony rooms!
Ann is a welcoming and generous host. She made our holiday something else, always ready for a friendly talk and helping us with reservations and recommendations.
There’s no doubt we’ll come back to this lovely villa.

We love the property and the host couple are delightful. It is a short walk to St Paul de Vence and has amazing views of the surrounding countryside from the patio and our balcony. We felt quite at home there.

The villa is located within walking distance of the beautiful town of saint-paul, but far enough away that it is completely quiet. Ann is a fantastic host and gave us many tips about the area and also about where to go next on our trip through France. The breakfast is simple but good. All in all it’s a fantastic place to just relax and enjoy the south of France.

This review was long overdue... I should have posted it sooner... In June, we were coming from Montecarlo where we attended a wedding and wanted to drive for 3 days getting to know some towns in the south of France. We stayed at this beautiful villa. Ann, the owner, was so welcoming, kind and helpful !!. After going to visit a nearby town, we came back to the villa, where we were offered complementary champagne, enjoying a marvelous evening at the villa's terrace. We invited Ann and her husband to join us at the terrace, and we had a wonderful time there, talking with them as if we were old friends!! We enjoyed their company so much!!. They are the nicest people !!!! We were supposed to leave the very next day to continue our road trip, but I catched a very bad cold and had to stay there for another day. Ann made this change in our itinerary very easy. She was so helpful !! I also want to thank the nice assistant than Ann has... the lovely Argentinian lady!! She took good care of me while I was feeling so sick... she would made me tea, and would offer whatever was in her power to help us with this inconvenience. Overall, very nice place, wonderful location... breathtaking views, nicest people in charge, close to one of the most beautiful medieval towns in the South of France... I most definitely recommend Villa St. Maxime. You will be delighted !!!

Wonderful stay at Villa St. Maxime. The inn is spotless, well located and decorated with interesting art. Ann is a wonderful host who is helpful and makes you feel right at home in her lovely inn. The large pool was delightful because we were there during a heat wave. Our a/c worked really well. We would love to stay there again. Great breakfast and after dinner treats were perfect.

Stayed here for a night on the way back from Italy. What a wonderful place... almost like an art gallery. Great views down towards Cannes and onto the Med. Lovely welcome drink and then another in the evening. When we returned from dinner there was a trolley laid out with different Brandy, Eau de Vie and Whiskey for you to help yourself to, as well as bottles of water for you to take back to you room. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and you can have your eggs any way you want them, we didn’t but you can if you want to. My only two small gripes were that if you like a dark room in which to sleep, the one we had wasn’t. It had a large crescent window above the curtains that let a lot of light in during the night and morning. The thing that really got me was the bathroom... at a glance looked lovely and clean and it generally was, however I went to use the toilet brush after using the loo and it was filthy, it looked just as bad as what I was needing to clean... the ladder towel rail needed a dust. The bars where you would put your towel were fine but the others were thick with dust. Would I stay here again? Simple answer is oh yes. It is lovely as are the owners. I will just take an eye mask.

This small hotel has everything one needs for a trip to enjoy St. Paul de Vence in the hills outside of Nice. Our room was spacious, quiet, with a nice bathroom, balcony, views. The friendly owners, Ann and John, can recommend any type of food/restaurants, touring, transportation, or? They are enthusiastic, as well as extremely organized with their recommendations. We loved St. Paul de Vence, but also visited Vence (up the hill), and Eze (outside of Nice). We used Uber and the local bus to get around, and it worked out really well. Don't miss the Foundation Maeght for art just around the corner.

John and Anne are exceptionally warm hosts at their lovely villa. Our room was upgraded to a gorgeous huge suite with views of St Paul de Vence and the countryside. Easy 10 minute stroll to the old city. We enjoyed a swim in the pool then delicious breakfast. Would recommend it as a special place to stay and enjoy the south of France experience.

This family owned and operated stay is lovely. The grounds are very pretty and serene. The room could have been a bit larger, but the terrace added a nice size to everything. Views are across to the ocean and the villages between. It is very close to St Paul de Vence, a lovely hill town. Our hosts were extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Parking is readily available and it is remote enough that there is no concern for noise. The pool is big and looks very nice to swim, though it was still far too chilly to use at this time.

Lovely villa, small and personal - great friendly service from Anne including the complimentary drinks each evening on the terrace. Our room was small but the rooms with a balcony overlooking the pool looked much larger so would definitely opt for one of those next time. The town is beautiful, lots of great restaurants that Anne can recommend and some lovely shops to look around.
