Great stay

Absolute gem of a property to stay at. The staff was all super friendly and accommodating. We are at the restaurant and it was delicious, fast and beautiful to sit in the dining room.. the fitness center pool (indoor/heated) 10/10!! We had an awesome time at the pool and sitting on the deck of our room.

Our trip was cancelled due to power out.

Staff was very friendly at Check in and especially at the Lodge dining room.

This place is a real hidden gem! We will definitely be back for another stay.

Loved the location, staff, and property. The buildings are dated and dark. The seafood buffet was meh at best. The price is too high for the quality of accommodations.

The heat didn't work bathroom was filthy people above us having sex on the balcony so we couldn't enjoy our balcony rotting roofing and falling down with big holes in it very disappointing

Beautiful place and friendly folks. No fridge or microwave in lodge rooms, which I would have enjoyed.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Pros: > Staff was all pleasant and provided appropriate information, no rude encounters. > View of lake and marina from Lodge Room was beautiful > Room was clean and comfortable Cons: > Only ate in dining room the first night. It was convenient. However, was buffet only and would definitely consider it Southern Cooking and needed some healthier options. As a result, we stuck to the soup and salad bar. Taco Soup was more like a chili, but we definitely enjoyed it. Salad bar was filing. > Some areas were somewhat worn, and could use a little refresh. In some respects almost felt like I was at summer camp ;) > Rooms not terribly soundproof. We heard our neighbors playing guitar and TV all night. Could hear conversations pretty clearly. > Indoor pool is closed on Sundays and that's the only day we had available and had planned on enjoying some time in the pool area. Apparently, steam and sauna are available in the area, but the jacuzzi hasn't been functional for a while. Final Note: If you have mobility issues or allergies to dogs, and are staying in the lodge, ask for a room on the upper floor as stairs are quite steep and have to negotiate them with your luggage. And dogs are allowed on the lower level rooms. We didn't have time to explore the area much, but if you're an outdoor person, definitely seems like there is plenty to do.

For a state park the rooms were better than expected. Mattresses and beds had been updated, restroom was well equipped and clean, and patio had two chairs and a table. All rooms have a lake view which is also nice. One key feature we loved is you can get from either side of rooms to the game room which leads up to the restaurant all while under cover in case it rains which it did our first night there. Food off the menu was excellent but only had that option one day. Buffet was good and varied daily which made it challenging if you didn’t like anything in it as not much else around to eat during the off season. Patios and balconies were all very clean and nice to sit and relax to enjoy the views, visit with family, etc. we will definitely go back for a longer stay to enjoy some water activities.

It was good, but comfort would have improved with rescreening the door to the balcony, and having a chair by the desk. The insects made the balcony impossible to access or even to allow outside air inside. I didn’t use any of the many amenities other than doing some walking around the complex.

Loved the beautiful surroundings, view of lake, staff helpfulness, linens/amenity services of the room, however there was an unpleasant sewer odor in our room. Resort is very dog friendly. Family reunion serviceable.

Nice getaway for the weekend.

We only stayed one night but the room was great. very spacious and clean and comfortable. enjoyed the deck overlooking the water.

Great peaceful place. Great food at decent price. The place is undergoing renovations which will make it even better. However, it does pose a few inconveniences.

Great view by the lake but unfortunately it the road was closed going down to to the beach and the restaurant was closed.

Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. Zybi and the restaurant cook even stayed after to cook my late meal. I greatly appreciate all of your help and we’ll be back.

The room was nice but the lodge itself is old and outdated. No housekeeping, I’m glad we only stayed for 2 nights. There are so many stairs, to get into the lodge, dinning room area, everywhere you go you will be taking stairs. Oh, and cobwebs and spiders on the balcony, overall maintenance is needed, dirty and rundown. On the up side, dining room food was good. Staff is great, very friendly. The view is beautiful from the balcony.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Would have been better if restaurant was open while we were there.

I really loved the serenity of the area. They are working to bring the place back to life.

We loved the spacious cottages and front and back porch! The only drawback for us was picnic table and grills are too far from the cottage, we like to grill and eat outside, so it was a little inconvenient. Would like to be able to see more of the lake from the cottages. However we enjoyed staying there and will do so again. The employees of the park were super nice and helpful!

Clean, comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice, low-priced breakfast buffet.

Love the area, facilities once great are over the hill

Many maintenance issues are being ignored. Entire property is very dated and needing repairs.

The place is in a gorgeous setting the view from the window was beautiful!! The room was large but the phone was broken. The floor was dirt and the buildings are old in need of repair and TLC. The price was very good!

Resort is Rustic, but also dated. Needs an update in rooms. Walls are thin. Balcony view of the lake would be incredible if trees were trimmed of low branches. I could tell that they were trimmed back in the last year or two.

They need to tell you that half of the rooms require going up and down stairs with your luggage. I am almost handicapped, but not quite, just a severe illness, and never expected something like this.

Bugs everywhere in room. Unkept. No services at all

The property is old and in disrepair. Our room smelled funky, had bugs and the floors were filthy. The pool area was overflowing with garbage and no one was in any hurry to clean it up. The dining room is only open 4 1/2 days a week and there are no refrigerators or microwaves in the room so if you are there on the days when the dining room is closed, too bad.

This is a very beautiful park and lodge. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The lodge needs a little work which I am sure they are aware of and planning to attend to. Nothing to hinder your stay but to maintain its functionality and beauty it needs attention. We had a great time and will surely return.
