Nice stylish room - hotel . Perhaps could do with a little maintenance as some elements look a tiny bit scruffy

You can see that the hotel was refurbished a few years ago and it’s a nice building in a good location but compared to the pictures online, it looks quite tired. The staff were all very pleasant. The swimming pool was lovely. The room was large and comfortable. We had breakfast, which was basic and probably not worth the €15. Generally the hotel felt like a ghost town. Aside from a few people by the pool and someone on reception, the bar was empty with nobody there to serve, the restaurant was closed apart from breakfast for the duration of our stay. We returned at 9.30pm from a meal out and everything was locked, no staff, no option to get a drink at the bar, just a number to call if there was an emergency. If you are happy doing your own thing then it’s a nice little place but it felt a bit deserted for us.

Superb hotel in a good location.
The room was stunning with an open plan shower and separate toilet Extremely clean and comfortable with a great huge comfortable bed The grounds were very scenic with its own pool which we sadly didn’t use as we only strayed one night Great breakfast with a choice of fresh fruits pastries meats breads and even a faculty to make your own boiled eggs. Nice touch
The decor in public areas was stunning and this place oozes class and style. It’s France after all Very close to the city walls with goood access to shopping bars and restaurants. Would recommend for sure

Lovely little hotel, a short uphill walk to the downtown downhill after dining at one of the many fine restaurants in Anguileme. The restaurant on site was not open at the time.

Very friendly and helpful staff, great food from the resturant, the rooms are spaceous and clean. Pillows are a little uncomfortable but the beds are great.

Beautiful small boutique hotel a stones throw from the old part of Angouleme, hadnt planned to stay in Angouleme, but the town and and this woderdul hotel were a great find.

A beautiful place right at the hart of town. Walkable to the old city center with its municipality building and lots of restaurants.

What a beautiful place! Loved the room, clean, spacious and tidy. Bed was very comfortable. Had requested late check-in and email answered quickly and efficiently. Opted for breakfast and this was absolutely delicious. Our first time in Angouleme and there is so much to do and explore. Would be back in a heartbeat to experience Sainte Gelais again.

Beautiful property. My only comment is the terrace off our room should be swept and the the outdoor furniture needs cushions and a bit of dusting.

A truly excellent hotel in terms of facilities, and dinner and breakfast. Great swimming poll. Excellently situated, albeit difficult to locate the entrance whilst driving (in the end, we discovered how to het there on foot!!)

It was a modern and comfortable hotel next to an old church, with a swimming pool too! We had trouble finding it but we were looking right into it. Didn’t think we could drive through the arched driveway! Enjoyed outdoor dining on site.

Nice property and the staff was very accommodating. My only complaint is that the room was freezing, turning up the heat made the loft unbearably hot so keeping the temperature down meant it was freezing downstairs.

Every aspect of our stay was fantastic, the facilities, the service, the room, the food and the location. The support from the staff was particularly noteworthy. We are fortunate in not having to usually make specific requests of hotels, but on this occasion we needed their assistance in parking our car. That request was handled quickly, efficiently and effortlessly. We would not go anywhere else in Angouleme and look forward to returning.

Stunning recently opened hotel in a beautifully converted convent in the heart of Angouleme.
We had a large room on the ground floor that was beautifully appointed and spacious with a corner sofa. There was a large modern bathroom and everything was very clean. Designer shower cubicle looked lovely but as it had no shower curtain, water leaked all over the bathroom on use.
Buffet style breakfast with wide range of options available was plentiful and relaxed.
Would highly recommend this hotel.
