Two out of the three lamps in the room, the only lighting at all in the room did not work. Including the outlets built into the lamps. The outlets on the left side of the bed also did not work. On the website it advertised breakfast starting at 630AM which was one of the reasons we booked the hotel as we had to leave before 7AM. Only to find out at check in breakfast did not start until 7AM. The room was clean and comfortable.

The pool was closed. Look like it had been for a while.
The bathroom in my room was dirty.
The breakfast was the worst. Who ever is running breakfast that morning ether doesn’t know what they are going or was having a bad day. But there was nothing to grab waffles with. Ketchup bottles basically empty. There was 1 cream cheese for the entire breakfast rush and more than 1 person wanted it.
There was no one at the desk to check out. I wanted a receipt but said screw it because no one was showing up to the desk.

Checked in about 8-8:30pm. Lobby lights were turned out for the night. Had already booked and paid through Hotels.com, but was asked to swipe card at front desk. Room was nice. Modern and fresh looking. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had a few hairs in the shower, left by previous guests. Shower was stocked with liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner . Soap was empty. After returning from our trip, we noticed the hotel had charged my card for the room, on top of what Hotels.com did. I called the hotel several times and never got anyone to answer the telephone. I contacted Marriott and opened a case regarding the double charge. I was told I would hear from the actual hotel we stayed in, by the following weekend. We were never contacted, but the second charge was credited back to our card. Not sure what was going on but be sure to check your statements after your stay. Overall a nice place, but being double charged with no explanation doesn't make me comfortable.

Love the Stevensville/St. Joseph, MI area…this is a great hotel… my 4th time staying there…the check in associate was awesome… accommodations great… will be back again… sorry the pool couldn’t be used… close to many places and easy driving!

Here is a list of issues with this hotel:
1. I checked-in online but I still had to go through the standard check-in procedure at the counter. I got a message that my room was ready when I was in my room.
2. The party of five received ONE entry key.
3. There was no toilet paper.
4. The fridge was warm and flooded.
5. There were no sheets or pillows for the sofa.
6. The person at the counter could not have inspected the room or assisted us in any way because he was the only one working that day and could not have left the counter.
I cannot believe I paid over $300 for a one night stay at this Marriott's hotel brand.

A little disappointed with the fact that the pool was closed, the sign on their front desk says “closed till 9/3” but we’re told that it’s closed till 9/10. Also their outside bonfire pit doesn’t work and apparently hasn’t for awhile so that was a bummer as well.

I believe someone that works there parks where we put in the check in. Also they ran out of breakfast food before 8:30.

Over the past few years we have stayed at this relatively new Fairfield and it has always been in top shape. But this time we noticed the location was starting to show some wear and tear. Staffing challenges are likely the biggest cause, as they likely have struggled to maintain sufficient staff levels just like many other hospitality businesses. We will stay at this location again with the hopes that no further deterioration takes place in the near future.

Very dirty did not stay there

Upon trying to check in on 8/4, there was a sign on front door saying no check ins till 6:30pm. Once inside, female at front desk informed us, nobody showed up to work today and no rooms would be available till 7pm. Additionally manager had left and another employee had left to go pick up cleaning crews to clean rooms. When we returned at 7:45pm, there were 3 families waiting for rooms in line at desk. Female took us up to 3rd floor and started checking to see if rooms were unoccupied and or clean for us to stay in. My family stayed in room 319. The room and rest of the night was fine.
However upon checking out the next morning, we found out that we were never checked in and they weren't sure whether we would be charged with a no show fee.
Not sure how this happens at a Marriot. The staff we dealt with were doing the best that they could and were personable and nice. Have never experienced this kind of chaos when arriving or checking out of a national chain hotel. We booked this Marriott to exclude ourselves from the questionable other lower quality hotels in area to allow for no hassle, stress free environment

Showed up at 9:20 when my room should have been ready by 4 had to shuffle to find abother hotel last min and came out of pocket more $$$ to do so because they didnt have the rooms apparently a pipe burst so I get that but they had hours of notice and no one would pick up the phone prior to my arrival now im trying to get a refund and no one answered the phone or is calling me pretty dissappinted!! Hotels.com hasnt called me like they said they would and corporate cant do anything

Property was listed as having breakfast, an on-site restaurant, and bar. The bar was demolished, the restaurant was closed, and the breakfast had only 1 option for people who are gluten-free and/or keto friendly. All other options were high starch and sugar.

The hotel was not clean at all. The pool looked filthy, the public restrooms had diarrhea all over 1 stahl and no t.p. in the other. The next day the diarrhea was STILL THERE! There wasnt soap in the public bathroom either. Just filthy. The breakfast was warm, at best but thete was a variety to choose from if you lile your food cool. The room did not have kleenex, there were water spots all over the shower..it did not look clean!! The mirror had smears all over it! As others had commented, the room smelled musty when we walked in. Im glad I read previous reviews and brought my own pillow! I try to give a hotel like the Marriott the benefit of the doubt but the reviews on this one was right on! One plus..the staff was sweet. We had to wait quite awhile to check in because noone was at the desk because there was a water issue in the hotel that was not the employees fault. I wish i had something else positive to say. Never again! Marriott should be ashamed!

The fridge did not work. The thermostat would not change. And the breakfast on sunday was empty by 915.

They booked us rooms but didn’t have the rooms for us when we got there. We got there at 1030 and had to wait on someone to clean the rooms then they did not have the right rooms. So by the time we squeezed into the 2 rooms available it was 3am.

First room given was not cleaned. Second room given had cable TV problems and TV was constantly pixallating. Kids constantly running, yelling and screaming in the hallway.

Our stay at this particular location was amazing. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very clean and in excellent condition as if it was just built. The one feature that stood out was the huge shower with the sliding glass door. I feel in love with that

I’ve stayed here several times. It’s a nice hotel. I recommend it. But they seemed off their game for this trip. Missing shower curtain liner. No pillows on one bed. Missing washcloths. The breakfast also needed attention. Cold coffee. Hard breakfast sandwiches.

We were not informed that the elevators were broken until after we checked in... No compensation was offered for the inconvenience of having to "mule train" our luggage up the stairs
Also our room smelled weird. It wasn't marijuana or cigarettes, but maybe mold or potentially rotting food left in the room.
I have stayed at this hotel 3-4 times before since it was relatively new, but the last stay was not good.

The bathtub did not drain. We only had 2 towels that was it. There was only 1 small wastebasket in the room. None in the bathroom. Ive had better breakfast at a side road motel than what was offered. I paid over $600.00 for 2 nights an it was not up yo par with that price. It was ridiculous

Breakfast ended 2 hours early and extremely limited due to staff no show. Only 2 towels in a 2 queen room and no extra towels available until 9am in the morning. Clean and tidy place though.

The room they gave us originally was not cleaned and smelled like there was a kennel of dogs staying there for a week and the room had not been made up at all. But they switched us to a bigger clean room and then everything was fine

In town for a wedding. Room was not available until 6pm, wedding was at 4 so had to change in another guests room. Once we were checked in at 11pm the room did not have soap in the bathroom and had only two towels for the room. Parents room didn’t have towels at all or soap. Little things like this shouldn’t happen at a hotel for $240+ per night. Otherwise the room was very comfortable. Clean lobby. Adequate parking and friendly staff. Seems like staffing issues were to blame for the negative comments.

The check in took 30 minutes. The elevator was broken. The ice machine was broken. The juice machine was broken. There were no towels in the fitness center our first day. Things improved on the second day of our stay.

Arrived to a room with no towels at all and no other bathroom amenities. Spent the entire time there getting needed items from the front desk. Started our first morning with a nice breakfast but the other two morning's had barely anything available due to staffing and breakdowns of equipment. Spent the last night awake due to a fire alarm being pulled by some unruly guests which also caused no elevator service during our checkout.

They gave us room with a shower that the water was leaking to the bathroom floor. We asked for the different room and unfortunately we were told that they didn't have anything available.The parking lot was not even full. There was also a problem with getting clean towels, we had to wait for them and always ask for them. The breakfast was just ok. Overall we will not be staying there again. For the same price 340.00 a night with extra fees and taxes we can definitely get a better hotel.
