Perfect place to celebrate something special.

We had a good experience. Our stay was cut short by the hurricane.

Desk clerk at check-in (Fri 8/16 ~5p) was not at all friendly. All other staff encountered were great.

Great place to stay when bringing pets along.

We had a wonderful room with a great ocean front view out a wall of windows. The room was large with two queen beds and a pull out queen sofa sleeper. The room had a large walk in closet! Three of us girls shared this room and each had a bed to ourselves and plenty of room in the closet for our things. I will stay again if I can get this same room. The staff was attentive and friendly. The building is old and could use some upgrades but the property is well kept and very convenient to restaurants and shops. It was rightly priced for the amenities.

If you're looking for casual, laid back old Florida and no high rises, this is the place to be. The beach, the waves and the people will make you book another reservation before you leave. It's our favorite place to be.

The best beach front property.

The beach was great. Grounds were dirty with people smoking cigarettes and pot on the walkways, steps, and outside our rooms. No decent foot wash for beach sand, so our room was a mess. Had to ask for room service & walk to get fresh towels from the front everyday.

ALL the staff that works here are super friendly and helpful. The property is a little older than most, but the Buccaneer Inn is awesome. They allow pets, it’s super convenient and comfy. Right on the beach…it doesn’t get any better than this. We will definitely be back. Thank you. Sandy & Don Jacksonville, FL

The location of this property is great. It’s an easy walk to the beach and close to the restaurants. The hotel needs to be updated. It’s your classic 2.5-3 star hotel and could be really good if they would invest in updating rooms and bathrooms.

I want to be nice because the girl at the front desk was so sweet but…this hotel was a bad stay for us. It is horribly outdated; the bed seemed new but the couch looks as if it’s been there since 1974, same with the chair. I didn’t even want to sit on either. Bathroom had holes in the wall that had been spackled over but not painted. Two different colors of tile in the bathroom, including one area where it looked like spackle had been smeared onto the tile. Sooo old and in a word: creepy. I hardly slept at all. We cut it short and checked out after the first night. Will definitely NOT stay there again. Very little to do on the island except for 1 or 2 restaurants and beautiful beaches. Next time we will get a house rental.

This is an older hotel with concrete block walks in every room. It was built to last and the rooms are very quiet because of it. The hotel has been updated with vinyl wood flooring which helps in cleanliness. The bed was comfortable but not luxurious. The bathroom was clean but the shower head leaked. The A/C struggled but kept the room temperature bearable on a very hot day. All in all they did good with what they had to work with. The price was reasonable and the beach access was great. The pool was clean and was the center point of the hotel with no rooms really having a beachfront view other than the end ones and they had no patios, just windows which were only good for a beach view if you were on the 2nd floor due to the proximity of the sand dunes. I would stay here again just for the price savings, but I would probably check into the condos surrounding the hotel area for pricing options first.

The staff is so so sweet. It’s very clean inside and out.

Best location considering all the happenings on the island. We walked to everything! Not a bad room (logistically) on the property. Everything is close to the pool and more importantly the gulf. Room is dated but this is the criteria we use for a room. Safe, clean and convenient. It checked all boxes. All we need in a room is somewhere to hold our clothes while we are at the water. The ONLY downside is the beds were horrible.

If you’re looking for high end and fancy, take a hard pass. This is a typical “old” Florida motel. Clean, wonderful staff, great location on the beach. Been coming here for over a decade and it’s such a n good place to “chill”. There is a pool on the beach which is great, sadly, when we checked in this time the pool was “questionable”…very murky which was out of sorts…next day it was closed due to a maintenance issues…which is a good thing!! The rooms are clean along with the bedding. Bed was comfy and air worked. There isn’t much to do on this island, so don’t expect the party scene…great for families. Beach is a few steps from the motel…it’s clean and you don’t have to carry a bunch of stuff since the motel is literally a couple hundred feet away! Didn’t disappoint in the past and it didn’t again this time. Four star rating was for the pool being “funky” and way too warm to swim in.

Beds were comfortable,hot water and water pressure amazing and wonderfully convenient to the beach! Only down was there was No place to hang towels and they could put a broom in the room to sweep up sand since they do not offer maid service unless you ask for it if you are staying multiple days

Me and my family enjoyed our stay at Buccaneer Inn. The room was larger than expected and was clean and the staff was always friendly. The pool was clean and the beach is close. The only suggestions we have is that it would be nice to have table and chairs with umbrellas at the pool deck and more storage or a shelf in the rooms. We will be back.

Great for the price and proximity to the beach! It’s an older hotel and has been updated somewhat, but the bathrooms are older and the outdoor areas show their age.

Will go here again. Room was clean and staff wonderful.

Very old and outdated

This was our first time staying at The Buccaneer. It was recommended by friends who visit the island regularly. The hotel is older, but very well maintained and clean. Every employee that we encountered was friendly & smiling. The location is great...beach is right there and several dining options are very walkable. Plenty of parking, too.

Right on the beach. Nice pool. Rooms clean and not carpeted so easy to walk on and clean. Great staff! COLD AC! Nice sitting area by the pool. Close to Blue Parrot Restaurant and BJ's Pizza and other dining options. Working elevators would be nice for old folks. Much nicer than last stay 25 years ago.

It’s our second time here, and it won’t be our last. Great older hotel directly on the gulf. Beautiful pool area and large spacious rooms. Very friendly staff as well. All at a great price.
