A hidden gem in Alberta that everyone should explore if they get the chance. Perfect place for a family reunion, wedding or overnight birthday.

Small and quiet

The accommodation is located in a motel away from the main lodge and lake. The room was comfortable and internet worked good. Bedding for pull out couch was inside the couch and not adequate for the cool evening - there were no extra blankets or pillows and staff had gone for the evening. Staff was very friendly, yet it was confusing as to where a person would check in or deliver paperwork from your stay. The kitchen is the main lodge on the lake and the food was great. I would stay here again.

Stayed in the motel on a fishing trip, it was exactly what we needed. Felt like staying in a little cabin in the woods. Super accomodating and friendly staff. Very nice area surrounding the property. Will be staying again forsure.

Nice big rooms and clean. Secure property with guard gates which was great. Fast check-in. Really nice campground in the summer.

This hidden gem is outstanding! From the moment we drove onto the tranquil property, until the moment we left we felt so well taken care of we did not want to leave. Mike, Tammy were so kind and helpful, the maintenance/security man even shoveled a path to a fire pit so we could enjoy a fire! The Kitchen served me up the best lobster eggs benedict I have ever had! I can not wait to return to this beauty!

We enjoyed our stay, however, the restaurant is only open for breakfast on the week end, so you are on your own, which would be ok if the rooms had as a minimum a microwave. Guest need to know that they need to supple there own breakfast

We came with family booking both the motel and lakeside cottage for this long weekend and we had a fantastic time! The cabin was adorable and the picnic table and fire pit area over looks the lake. The porch area is much larger then it seems. Water was refilled the next day for us and wood was delivered right beside our fire pit which was a plus! The outhouse was clean, only steps away from the front entrance. Our family who were staying in the motel also had great things to say about their room and the property in general. The restaurant is a very short walk away from both the cabins and the motel, we didn’t have time to eat there but the menu we were given looked great! It also looks like they are adding in some other activities for guests to enjoy in the future. It is gated at night with security which made it feel safer. We got lucky on our first night and got to see the northern lights over the lake which was just beautiful! Would definitely come back here!

This is a quiet oasis that offers wonderful evening dining (noon to 9pm) The room was very comfortable and the owner provides both a small heater and a fan if the room is a bit warm or cool. the route direct from Sundre is recommended as I ended up being sent on a roundabout routing by Google and the road was freshly gravelled. The direct route is a very good highway. I would definately return, for the view over the small pond with the ducks, the quiet and the food.

Beautiful tranquil location but close to amenities in Sundre. The motel looks brand new with great design. The outdoor spaces showcase beautiful new decking, glass railing to take in the surroundings, ample seating, beautiful flowers. The main building has a log cabin feel with views of the lake from inside and large dining deck outside. There is security to enter the property. The entire grounds look meticulously maintained. Highly recommend.

Nice quiet place

They only have staff at the lake limited hours. We missed check in, but we really appreciated someone stayed late to let us in. When we got into the rooms, there was no toilet paper, the floors were very dirty and the coffee maker did not work. The rest of the room was clean. Beautiful location and staff were exceptional. Didn’t get a chance to try the food but we heard there was an excellent chef on site. Wish we could have spent more time there. Would like to come back. If staff would have been on site after we checked in, I’m sure they would have resolved our issues.

Wonderful secluded yet vibrant get away. Food was amazing in the dining room! Rooms were cozy and clean.

In the middle of nowhere but still has WIFI. Beautiful faculty. Foods great. Looks over a lake. Only 9 motel rooms & camping.

The Kitchen restaurant is wonderful and the room we had was quite nice. Very good for the price. While the property is secluded with services a bit of a drive away, that was an advantage for us. Loved it and will go back.

We rented the gardenview cabin. Upon arrival we thought there was a disconnect from the cabin to the rest of the property, as if it was forgotten about. The main building, the strip of motel rooms and the camping grounds in general were all new, and well maintained. They share a cohesive image and style. The cabin was definitely rustic which is fine but some small upgrades would make it fit in with the rest of the property. In my opinion, changing the interior paint from orange to white would make it feel more welcoming when you first open the door to the cabin. Updating the interior and exterior furniture so it fits the styling of the rest of the property and investing in more comfortable/ bigger beds. There were many dead flies, cobwebs and we found mouse droppings on the floor of the cabin. Definitely doesnt make you want to take your shoes off. The cabin was in a private area which was really nice. The main building is wonderful and has a great view of the small lake. The shower facilities were great also but we didnt know until we went to have a shower that they cost $2. There was nothing in the welcome package or signage posted about the cost of the shower and how long of a shower you get with a toonie. Honestly this review is more about the specific cabin we rented, which i think is an opportunity for schotts lake resort. We had a wonderful time with our friends here and will definitely be back... but we will rent a room in the motel.

Great dining experiences.

What a beautiful stay. We arrived mid week and so it was very quiet. We stayed at the motel - updated rooms. My only issue is that it is warm as there is no AC. I’d suggest bringing a fan and I’d suggest to the resort to supply fans in each room. We ate at the restaurant and yummmm. We ordered the charcuterie board (the homemade Saskatoon spread and red pepper jelly are so delicious), the elk burger (so juicy and such great flavors) with fries (almost certain these are made in house they were fresh tasting), the chicken pot pie, and the kids grilled cheese (on thick yummy bread). I would definitely come back again to stay here and I will be recommending to my family and friends for stay and dinner.

Beautiful property in a secluded setting. Rooms are cozy and well equipped. I also appreciated the ability to plug in my vehicle during the cold weather.

Spacious comfortable rooms. Very clean! Great restaurant onsite! Places to hike on site and nearby.

The cabin was very loud at night, and we were not close to anyone else. Was extremely hot in there, and unless we had the fan going full it was unbearable. The restaurant there was wonderful and had amazing food. We were at the closest cabin to the main hall but still had zero wifi connection.
