Staff were extremely friendly and helpful

Gondwana was terrific - from the warm welcome and patient assistance with my terrible French (which in practice meant putting anything remotely complicated into English so I could butcher their beautiful language with my replies) to the impeccable cleanliness and constant good cheer, they really go out of their way to give you a pleasant stay. The suite has a private balcony with a lovely little garden that looks over the neighbourhood and across the bay from the 6th floor. There’s a communal patio on the mezzanine level with a reasonably priced breakfast service and tables for chilling out or meeting other guests. The area is great, safe and quiet at night but with good dining options. It’s also close to the town centre and the port if you want a ramble. Gondwana is an economical option in a relatively expensive town that nevertheless hits all its marks. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Very well situated in the Latin Quarter, walking distance to the port, the markets and just around the corner from a great restaurant.

Good hotel, well presented and clean. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and happy to assist with recommendations. It was noisy at night (nearby area, not hotel itself), however this was a Saturday too. The bed is pretty hard and more pillows would be useful. We also couldn't get TV connected for Netflix etc. despite trying a few different things - very limited if you don't speak French. Overall a good stay and reflective of what you pay.

I was in Noumea on business and didn’t want a fancy resort hotel. This hotel is small but comfortable with excellent people working there. They are always helpful and friendly. I’ll certainly return to this hotel whenever I’m coming to Noumea again.

Stuff is very kind. Close to the Port Moselle and city market.

Convenient location for everything near the city

Hotel Gondwana was centrally located in downtown Noumea. Perfect for getting to attractions like Port Moselle markets and shopping on Rue de Sebastopol. Also close to the main bus interchange for visiting further afield like the Zoological and Forest Park (Parc zoologique et forestier). The room was clean and comfortable and the courtyard was a nice, leafy retreat. The staff were friendly and helpful and able to converse in English. We had a great stay. Thanks.

The room I stayed was 2nd floor, but there is a table set area over the window. So that I couldn't open the curtain mostly. I hoped there's a cover thing out side of the window. Others are all good.

The room was fine, good location. Disappointed that I didnt get the wake-up call I requested, especially after checking twice that it would happen!

It is an OK hotel, mostly just for a overnight stay. We were unlucky enough and there was a loud company somewhere on our floor and when they were running and laughing on the floor during the night - we could hear everything and could not really sleep...So in terms of of this hotel - it is cheap, it has a perfect location if you plan to catch a betico ferry and the staff is very friendly and helpful.And for - - not a quiet one and the shower was moldy.

The check in was ok. We had to pay for parking in the garage even though there were not enough normal parking spots. We parked on an electric charging car park because everything else was full. In the bathroom were small cockroaches that I had to take care of with my sandals. The shower looked quite unhygienic, with stains and mold. The whole hotel was fully booked and you could hear every movement in the hallway and your room neighbors. No good sound buffering, felt like we didn’t have a door. There were people running up and down the stairs until 4:30 in the morning and we barely slept. The hotel itself seems very environmental conscious which is a big plus but we’re just glad that we had only one night there. Also very hard to communicate if you’re not French, some of the staff don’t even speak a word of English which made the check out quite an adventure even though the room was already paid for online.

Staff have been very helpful. I don`t speak French, but they have been ale to understand me and my needs. Very clean and comfortable room and hotel. Would for sure stay here again. Very close to stores, bank and eating places. The ocean is just a short walk away. They have everything that a traveler would want or need. We had to disembark our cruise ship here as my husband became ill and is in the hospital, which is also a wonderful hospital. Thank you Gondwana Hotel

Staff were fantastic! Hotel is clean and rooms comfortable. Would recommend for a one night stay in the city.

Front counter staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean, good wifi, comfortable space in the room, windows open, great location. Underground parking for a price but very convenient and safe. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful, I just wish I knew more French. Airport transfer was great too as Nouméa airport is not close to town.
