Our experience at Catalonia Donosti was just fine. I would not stay again, but it wasn't all bad. Highlights: - The rooftop had beautiful views - The second room we got to had nice views - The spa is fairly nice, and our services there were great - The elevator directly into town was wonderful and necessary - a great touch Lowlights: - Service was not great - our room did not match the listing photos (the cheaper rooms all face a new apartment building and that was our entire view). The room was still not cheap (about $400/night avg) and it was our honeymoon, so we tried talking to the front desk to get something better. There were suites on the website for the same price, but they would not let us rebook because we used "Expedia" and the manager apparently has a problem with that. We got moved to a better view room for 3 of the 4 nights, but not without a lot of conversation. - The hotel is a bit sterile and feels corporate - The pool is not heated and there was no hot tub - it was absolutely freezing

Great place to stay in the heart of San Sebastián. Roof top pool and bar a highlight.

Superb hotel on a hill but easy access via car/taxi and lift from street level. The staff are exceptional so service is 5*. The views from the terrraces are stunning.We are definitely returning.

Fantastic stay - great location within walking distance of everything

This was a lovely hotel set in an easy walk of the beach and old town. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor with our son and having the pull down bunk bed was incredibly convenient. The breakfast was really varied and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The hotel is absolutely lovely and in a great location. My only criticism is that the rooftop bar/restaurant was closed the whole time and I brought 10 people back for drinks and nibbles but we had to sit downstairs. I was a bit Embarrassed Small rooms that will appointed and with a fabulous view

Nice hotel, great location with helpful staff

Such a nice hotel with great service and food options. The room was super comfortable and clean. Only slight complaint is that the listing made it seem like the indoor pool/spa would be included and it cost an additional 60 euro/hour to use the indoor pool (it was too cold for the outdoor pool when we were there). Otherwise, the place was excellent and we will definitely be back!

The property was converted from convent but completely remodeled and modern. The amenities were amazing and the staff was very helpful and responsive.

Lovely hotel but docked a star as I was shocked to discover on check in they charge €20pp extra for use of the integral spa/pool. In the end didn’t have time to use it so it didn’t really matter in practise but that felt unnecessarily cheap for a close to €400/night hotel room, and misadvertised on hotels.com as “hotel with pool and spa”.

Room smelled of cheap cologne mixed with some other unpleasant smell upon entering the room. Espresso machine wasn’t working well, there was no body lotion. Not a 4 star hotel by any means.

Super cool hotel incorporated into an historic convent built into the bluff. There's a secret passageway from the basement level to the street, so fun! However, we accidentally came during a major youth soccer tournament and paid a premium price for a single night. We did this for the rooftop pool. Unfortunately, they had to close it in order to manage the water quality. We were super bummed to miss out on account of their poor timing of maintenance activities.

The property sits just above the rest of the skyline so you get a great view of the city if you get a city facing room. The rooms are very clean, and well designed. Location is a 10 minute walk to beach/promenade, and 15 minute walk to old town. Quality all around!

What a beautiful hotel. Room was spacious and it was great to have a separate bed for our toddler. Staff were all very friendly. Hotel was in walking distance to the beach area which was great & convenient.

I don't know how many people take advantage of the spa at Catalonia Donosti, but they should. It is a lovely accoutrement to what is already extraordinary place Nice see located and easy all the way around so what a lovely, lovely place thank you.

Hotel was immaculate and very modern with every need catered for. Standard of room and amenities was high. Food throughout the stay was also very good but the highlight was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff which was consistent across all staff and throughout our week’s holiday. The hotel is well positioned to visit the beach and old town areas of the city and should be an obvious choice for travellers to San Sebastián.

Beautiful, thoughtfully appointed, well-stocked, great shower, gorgeous views and deliciously quiet. We had one night to enjoy and it was perfection.

This was such a lovely hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and the room and common areas of the hotel were beautiful. The rooftop pool/terrace was fantastic and just what we were looking for. Will definitely come back!

This is an amazing hotel .It has an under ground corridor to take a guest from on top of the hill to center of town. There is a spa and an excellent restaurant on premises . Perfect balance to come back to hotel for massage and good food and the is a wellness center with sauna,steam room and water features. Roof top pool with glorious views

Hotel centrally located, walking distance to everything. Fabulous room with a city & partial sea view. Car park very spacious. Breakfast was excellent value at €19 pp. Ornate who looked after us at b'fast deserves a particular thank you for his helpful and friendly manner .. he made us feel v welcome. Overall a great stay...would come again.
