A very good breakfast raised this to a 4. The room was very clean. Being on the on the lower floor of the back section it was a little dark as the window was high up and level with parking. Tip, get a second floor room.

Everything a $125 hotel should be. Doesn't have to be perfectly clean or chic -- sink, tub, and toilet were SPOTLESS but there were toothpaste spots on the mirror frame; I had no reservations about going barefoot -- because it is what it is. Breakfast was simple, tasty, and plentiful. Pam at the front desk in the afternoons and Vi who fed us were wonderful. (The gentleman who set me up with my second night was absolutely fantastic as well, but I forgot his name.)

Parking is terrible. Couldn't figure out where to check in. Room was very small and the outdoor area was downright scary. Building had a bad odor inside. But the shower was good, bed was good and breakfast was good.

Breakfast was good. Clean room. A little bit noisy because of rude guests in the middle of the night.

i was safe inside the room, feels and view unsafe as you exit the room. overfill trashcan and people smoking and drinking alcohol by the entrance.

For a budget friendly hotel, this place really was great - I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m traveling thru Cortez- there are a few signs that it’s an older property but it’s very clean and seems to have been recently updated

Room was in a quasi basement, I swear it looked like a crack house complete with a busted up patio set on the entrance and a half smoked cigarette on top of the key entry scan box. While the photograph of the front units looks okay, beware of the hovel rooms up the hill that you cannot see.

Pleasant front desk employees. Loved the fact that the laundry room had a treadmill, elliptical, and bicycle available, to keep one busy while waiting for laundry to finish. Updated walk-in shower. Everything clean and comfortable

Excellent customer service. Andrew and Ivette very helpful and kind. We were allowed to check in early and rooms were clean and comfortable.

Very nice! Room was recently renovated, very sharp and clean. Staff was friendly and the location is good. Two minor complaints: the AC unit was pretty loud (of course this was in July!), and the shower floor was pretty slippery- a potential safety concern. Would stay again!

Clean, comfortable bed, nice walk in shower, not a tub. Our room was at the very back of the motel. Parking way at the back, was a little tight. But otherwise everything else was great.

We stayed in the 2 story building in the back. Really clean and updated rooms. The lady at the front desk was so nice. Breakfast was great. Way more than just a continental breakfast.

Check-in was seamless. The reason for the average rating is that it is a basic room. The room, linens, etc., were clean. The furnishings are dated but functioning. The bathroom appears to have been redone. The walk-in shower is excellent. The coffee maker was minimal, and the pod did not fit the appliance but made coffee. The fridge and microwave were good size and working. The reason I gave three stars for the area around the property has nothing to do with safety. Only that there was nothing to speak of to make it better than average.

The staff was great and friendly. The cook for the hot breakfast was on top of everything constantly and doing an amazing job of keeping food fresh and topped off. The buildings are old and dated. The room was renovated but just pasted over the aged walls and floor. The AC unit was so loud when it was on. Without it on, the temperature in the room would quickly rise.

Arrived at 2330 local time, with no one at the front desk or in the lobby. Printed laminated sign on the door stated to call 970-880-9700 then choose option 0 to check in afterhours. Called twice, and each time it rang and no one picked up. Google showed the number was the same number listed for the motel. The third time, I choose option 1 to speak to a reservation specialist at Choice Hotels. I reported that I cannot get in touch with the front desk staff, and asked if they had another number they could call to reach the onsite staff. He said he didn't, but that he would try and call the same number and see if he could get a response. After about two minutes of being on hold (and about ten minutes of waiting), the phone call was connected to the front desk staff. The front desk staff instructed me to go to the side of the building of the lobby, find a key box, "the key box combination is already entered" (and it was), and open it. Once open, I found the door key for my room and another person's room. I think this is extremely unsafe and the motel should change their practice. The room smelled musty. The linens were clean however there were crumbs of some kind on the bed. One of the bed frames squeaked loudly with the smallest movement. Bed was moderately hard. Front desk staff and kitchen staff in the morning was nice. After I requested late check out and got it for noon, housekeeping staff knocked on the door at 1100 hours when we were still sleeping.

Attendant was very pleasant and helpful. Was told refrigerator had a freezer but it didn't. No room service the 2nd day of our stay.

Property was convenient to Mesa Verde. Fair amount of dining options locally. Room a little dated. A/C a little loud. Staff very friendly and care about your comfort.

The room was very clean, and the breakfast was delicious. We will book here again - without question.

This was one of the best hotel I stayed on this trip. So clean and well maintained, ample parking space and icing on cake was the breakfast

A very nice overnight stay. Friendly front desk folks, a hot breakfast, and clean rooms. I expected to park right in front of my room like in the site's picture, but there are other buildings to this hotel so that was not the case. Just beware if that is a concern. No carpet which was wierd. More than a few restaurants and other businesses within walking distance. I'd stay here again in a minute!
