I love nature and this place was so beautiful and well maintained. the lagoon it’s basically in their backyard and love the common areas such as the grill, deck, and hammocks. I would call this place a hidden gem! The Host not only assisted us with scheduling a Masaage with a local massage therapist who was exceptional but also provided us with food recommendations for local restaurants.

Beautiful house perfect location right on the lake, very relaxing peaceful atmosphere. Benjamin is a wonderful host Im glad I found this spot I will definitely come back!

The property overall was in a scenic location, had clean facilities, and was very well maintained by the caretaker. The proximity to the water front of the lake was convenient, however, it should be noted that it has public access and was littered in garbage (broken beer bottles, plastic bags, bottles, dirty diapers, etc.).

My stay on the property was shortened due to a safety concern which involved me being assaulted and abducted off the 1-way road to the property, by 3 men (1 armed with a machete) in front of a restaurant less than 1 km away. The nature of this incident was unknown at the time, but later turned out to be a $3.50 USD food bill discrepancy made by the cashier. Despite staying for only 1 night out of 7, the property owner, who was not directly involved with this incident, refused partial refund of any kind.

The property is beautiful, very peaceful and scenic. The stars shine beautifully at night.

It’s hard to get breakfast in the area so definitely bring your own transportation or bring groceries. That said, we were told about this ahead of time so it was never a problem. Lunch and Dinner, there is a restaurant about 500 feet from the property, so it’s not as hard to get.

Casa Única is an amazing place, really secluded and tranquil. The house and the property are new, modern and very well done by the owner. It is stylish and all the details are taken care of. Benjamin likes to show you around and tell you all about the plants in his garden and about the surroundings. He also recommended activities to us. There are kayaks available that you can take on the laguna, that was really great! We walked up the rim of the crater to San Juan de Oriente: sendero del Caballito, which was beautiful and at the top you have a view over the lake at Mirador Congo (they have great food as well!). Overall: we really loved our stay!

Benjamin was so friendly and accommodating with us during our stay. The property was beautiful, tranquil, clean, and comfortable. Ben provided inner tubes and kayaks to take out in the lagoon. Everything was peaceful and quiet and we loved talking with our host. I come to Nicaragua often and will 100% return!
