We were so thrilled with the hospitality that Tonko and Tanya exhibited throughout our stay. They were very generous with their time to make our vacation extra special. We have never experienced such wonderful attention during any of our previous trips. The apartment was perfectly located and was very clean. We would not hesitate to stay there again and will recommend it to our friends.

My adult son and I had a wonderful stay at Tonko's apartment. Tonko and his wife are very warm and welcoming and the apartment is beautiful Tonko went above and beyond to orient us and to help us out in any way that he could. Tonko and Tanya, are the perfect hosts, welcoming and helpful, the apartment is beautiful, comfortable, it is very well appointed and has everything one could need or want. The view is spectacular to top it all off. We would recommend it to everyone highly. We are seniors with some limits and did not find the stairs difficult. We would love to return.

We would give more stars if possible but 5/5 is all that is allowed. This property was phenomenal and everything we were looking for. Waking up each morning with a view of old town and the island was beyond expectations. Tonko was an incredible host and were extremely kind, respectful, and helped give us the perfect experience on our honeymoon. Everything from arranging rides to and from the airport, to telling us the local history and how he grew up in Dubrovnik. He also setup a personal guided tour with his daughter in law. Well worth it to get the full rich history of Dubrovnik and really feel immersed in its culture and history. We look forward to going back there when we are able to visit Croatia because of how wonderful Tonko made everything.

Tonka could not do enough to make you feel at home. Twelve minutes walk into town or 6 euro Uber ride...the view amazing.

We could not have asked for a better place in Dubrovnik. Tonko greeted us with open arms and made us feel like we were at home. He is amazing!!! He gave us the perfect tips on what to do and where to eat. The view is absolutely stunning and the location is perfect. Located right above a cute little beach with a cool cave that makes you feel like you found a secret. We loved that we could look at the island, the old town and the beautiful ocean from the veranda. The walk into old town was lovely. There is a market a restaurants nearby. Tonko, you are the best!!!

This one bedroom, one bath apartment is everything you could want: a full kitchen, air-conditioning, heat, washing machine, clothes lines off the deck balcony where clothes dry in less than 30 minutes, an easy 15 minute walk to Old Town, 2 small grocery stores within a 5 and 10 minute walk respectively, and killer views of the Adriatic Sea and Old Town Dubrovnik from the cozy balcony where we spent much time mesmerized by the views. However, if you are taller than 5’9”, you will have to duck your head in the shower as the roof slopes. The apartment is located in the “high rent” district. Tonko and Tanja live downstairs, and he is always available for assistance, recommendations, and rides to and from the airport for the cost of his gas money. He is retired but she still works. All that pales in comparison to the royal treatment we received from Tonko. His hospitality, kindness, friendliness and compassion are second to none. Tonko is a fun loving guy with a constant twinkle in his eye. And he was always quick to reply to my many emails and he speaks very good English. We can’t wait to return.

The apartment was easy to find and Tonko met us and helped us. He was very thorough in explaining everything over a glass of wine which he kindly provided. The apartment overlooks the bay and old city and the views are simply breathtaking.

I wish that we could give more than 5 stars for our stay at Tonko and Tanja's apartment in Dubrovnik. Everything was fantastic!!! We loved Dubrovnik and a lot of it had to do with our rental experience. From the time that we booked our stay, Tonko's communications with us were extremely timely and helpful. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. The view from the balcony is outstanding. We relaxed every morning and evening on the balcony enjoying the beautiful view. The location is only about a 15 minute walk from Old Town and close to a fantastic beach with a restaurant/bar. Tonko arranged for a tour of Old Town for us guided by his extremely knowledgeable daughter-in-law, Nataša. She was fantastic and gave us SO much information that made the rest of our time exploring on our own more meaningful. I could go on and on, but basically we felt like we were staying with family. Our apartment had a full kitchen, including a freezer we never used, a main bedroom, an extra bedroom we used to store luggage and read in, a dining area, a living room, and a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine. For a week’s stay we never wanted for anything. The water in the shower was always immediately hot and plentiful, and Tanja showed us how to run the washing machine, and gave us a box of soap powder to run our laundry. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, sugar and all the appliances, plates, pots and pans, etc. that we would need. However, the main feature of this apartment is its close proximity to Dubrovnik and its excellent view! We had a lovely view of the island of Lokrum and the Old Town of Dubrovnik from our balcony and bedroom, where we could see both the sunrise and sunset, and feel the wonderful sea breezes and while the apartment was across the street on the bus line, we chose to walk 6-10 minutes into town or to the beach. All that said, our main interest in writing this review is to comment on just how lovely Tonko and Tanja made our stay in Dubrovnik. Just off the plane, Tonko greeted us with Croatian wine and sparkling water, and on the last night Tonko and Tanja treated us to a Croatian fish dinner. Throughout our week’s stay, it was a common occurrence for Tonko to bring us a small plate of cherry strudel, chocolate pancakes, grapes from their garden and wine and sparkling water. Tonko is a person who loves people and wants to make his guest’s stay in Croatia special. He is informative and genuinely gracious, but also respectful of your time and space. You can knock on his door at any time of the day and he will help you out with your question or concern, probably over wine or a cappuccino at the picnic table under the grape trellis. We used Tonko to set up our airport transfers, a private tour to Mostar, and a walking tour of Old Town. Everything was done timely and more than met our needs. We can’t recommend them highly enough. They made us feel like more than just visitors — they made us feel like good friends. Our stay with them made the difference in a good vacation and one that exceeded all our expectations. If possible, we would be giving them more than the five stars allowed in the review.

Tonko and his wife were perfect hosts. I recommend you take advantage of any offer to provide breakfast, for a small charge. The Turkish coffee is amazing.

We loved every minute of our stay in Dubrovnik, and the apartment was perfect. Great location between the old town and a lovely swimming cove. Beautiful views of Lokrum island and the old town. Beautifully located with a 15 minute downhill walk to the Old Town, or quick bus ride from the stop near the house. Immediately below the apartment, some 10 minutes walk down many steps, is a lovely bathing area set in the rocks and 20 minutes walk in the other direction away from town, also down many steps, is a lovely sandy beach. Dubrovnik itself is magical, once the hordes of day trippers have gone. The apartment was spotless and well equipped. The views from the balcony were fantastic with magical sunsets over the old town. Tonko and Tanja were fabulous hosts and made us feel quite special. We had welcome drinks on arrival and Tanja cooked us a lovely traditional meal on our last night with delicious home made wine to wash it down with. Would we recommend? What do you think?

The apartment was everything we expected it to be. Very clean, great location and the views from the balcony were just superb! Our kids loved the large flat screen tv and of course the Wi-Fi. Our host Tonko and his wife were excellent hosts very accommodating. Our morning spent sight seeing around the beautiful coast of Dubrovnik in Tonko's boat was the highlight of our holiday. The holiday was excellent Tonko and Tanja are prefect hosts. Everything ran smoothly from the taxi ride ,which Tonko arranged at a better price, to the apartment which deserves the five stars. Tonko and Tanja also deserve five stars, from the home made wine to the fabulous snack they provided. Not to forget about the boat trip that Tonko took us on. Tonko and Tanja are perfect hosts we would recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

From the day we arrived Tonko and Tanya were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. They couldn't do enough to help us, telling us everything there was to know about Dubrovnik. The first thing we noticed was the breathtaking view as we stepped onto the balcony overlooking the sea and the fairy tail, that is Dubrovnik. The apartment was fab, everything we needed was there. Tonko was there to help whenever we needed him, we really couldn't have asked for more. They even made us the most delicious cherry strudel one day and some delicious food in the evening. If you are thinking of staying in Dubrovnik, I would completely recommend staying in this beautiful apartment, without a doubt! Thank you so much Tonko and Tanya, we will never forget our stay. Everything was amazing. Let’s start with the apartment: clean , modern , perfect view of the sea , close to old town , fully equipped. The owner , Tonko, was super friendly , helped us with parking , cooked food for us , advised us about our vacation , even gifted us great home-made liqueur. There are great swimming spots near the apartment and Dubrovnik old town and the nearby islands have plenty to offer. We had 4 full days of perfect joy and if you are lucky to book this apartment you will definitely enjoy your stay like nowhere else.

Without a doubt, our visit to Dubrovnik was amazing because we chose this property. Tonko arranged airport pick-up for us so we had no problems getting to the apartment which was immaculately clean, thoughtfully equipped, beautifully decorated and full of natural light. And the view. There are really no words to describe how perfect the view from this property is. From the living room, kitchen, and master bedroom, there are spectacular views of the sea, the island of Lokrum, and the Old City. Every day the sunset is beautiful in Dubrovnik and the balcony of this apartment is an amazing place to enjoy it. Tonko is native to Dubrovnik, loves his city, and is more than happy to suggest and help you plan activities. We took advantage of his connections to take a wonderful walking tour of the Old City. Our guide, Tea, was native to Prague and gave us a wonderful tour, covering the ancient history of the city and the region, the culture, the war, and even some fun Game of Thrones trivia. We spent 10 days in Dubrovnik, loved every minute of it, and, should we be lucky enough to return, we would not hesitate to stay at Tonko & Tonja's again.

This is a beautiful perfectly equipped apartment overlooking the water and the city. It is outside the city walls so quiet and only an 8 minute walk to the city. Tonko and his wife made us vegetables and gave us wine and homemade brandy. It was all wonderful

We stayed for six nights and enjoyed every minute. Tonko and Tanja are superb hosts providing tourist information, history lessons and tasty appetizers and cherry strudel. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. We loved the apartment cozy, bright and the view from the balcony is spectacular. Totally enjoyed our stay.

If you want a perfect view of the Adriatic, the UNESCO historic old city of Dubrovnik, clear view of sunset, relaxing on your own private balcony then this is the home base for you. Tonko and Tanya are the helpful owners of this unique beautifully designed two bedroom apartment that has all the amenities needed. It is perfectly located in a quaint and quiet area just a 10 minute walk from the Old City walls. The bus stop is right outside the apartment, so you can grab a ticket and see all the area around Dubrovnik for very little cost. I stayed there for two weeks and never wanted to leave. It is simply the best place I have every been and I've been around the world. I would give it a much higher rating than 5 star and so did my daughter and friend. So trust me, this spot is a true GEM. They made us some Tapas one evening with a nice carafe of white wine and Tanja made us a delicious cherry strudel one morning. The Brailo apartment stay in Dubrovnik was the highlight of our three-week vacation! The location and views from the apartment's balcony are stunning, and my husband and I spent many hours just sitting and enjoying the incredible scenery. Photos of the apartment on the website do not do it justice. The beautifully furnished and well cared for unit is only about a 10-17 minute walk from grocery stores, a bakery, and the Old Town of Dubrovnik itself. My husband had a cold when we first arrived in Dubrovnik and Tonko and his wife, Tanja, gave us some Theraflu from their own supply. A couple of days later, they helped us celebrate my husband's 74th birthday with delicious home cooked food, an apple cake, and a bottle of champagne. We felt pampered, well cared for, and thankful that Tonko Brailo and his wife were so generous with their hospitality and thoughtfulness.

Tonko was such an amazing host - thank you for your warm welcome. The apartment was perfect for our family, well equipped and comfortable. The view from the balcony was spectacular! Only a 10-15 minute walk into the old town of Dubrovnik, and 10 minutes to the beautiful beach of Saint Jacob. Highly recommended.

We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this one is exceptional. The host, Tonko, is exuberant about his home, his city, and his country; and his pleasure in sharing makes the visit a memorable delight. Tonko and Tonja were the best! Tonko was as gracious as a host could be. He made sure that we had everything we needed which was very little since he thoughtfully had provided many extras. He had refreshments when we arrived, and he and Tonja brought an antipasti before dinner one evening. We appreciated the coffee for our use the first morning. The kitchen had all of the utensils that one would need, and the entire villa was immaculately clean. Dubrovnik is a great city for historical sights and for seeing the interface of a city with the sea. We parked our car and walked everywhere we went for three days. One of the beauties of the villa is that you can walk to the Old Town in about 10 minutes. That is priceless. Along the way there is a convenient grocery store. The Villa also has a panoramic view of the Adriatic, Lokrum Island and The Old Town. If we were going back to Croatia, we would spend more time in Dubrovnik at Tonko’s Villa

I have stayed in this apartment many times and every time gets better and better. First of all the apartment,approximately 10 min walk to the old city and St Jakobs beach,the 2 bedroom apartment is well stocked and spotlessly clean. Let’s talk about the view,absolutely wonderful, I never tire of sitting on that balcony. I have stayed in a number of apartments in Dubrovnik and none of them can top this view. Finally I have to mention Tonko & Tanja who are the most wonderful hosts. Informative but not intrusive from the moment he picks you up from the airport, Tonko & Tanja put their guests first.We have been to family celebrations,been taken on boat trips lunches and dinners by this couple. This week my flight was cancelled by EasyJet when we were about to board. Unbeknown to me, Tonko had called the airport and my flights rearranged bearing in mind there was also 400 people doing the same. It is things like that that make them such wonderful people. If it was possible I would give this apartment 10 stars

We spent five days in this lovely, spotlessly clean and well equipped apartment. The view from the balcony is unforgettable, it's such a spectacular location looking over the bay and over towards the old city. There are gorgeous beaches within a short walk and the old city can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. The hospitality of Tonko and Tanja added such a special touch - we felt so welcome and looked after. They are truly warm and thoughtful hosts. Thank you both for a wonderful stay!
