Great property to enjoy your weekend

Loved the property! Had plenty of room for our group with more beds that we didn't even use. The property was clean and well equipped. Beautiful setting. Easy to check in. We didn't have any issues or maintenance problems. Would definitely book this again! Thank you for the stay!

The drive way was horrible. Is extremely steep and riddled with deep ruts. One needs a four wheel drive vehicle to ascend the last hill to the cabin. Luckily are party had several four wheel drive vehicle. The two wheel drive vehicle had to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up the hill.

The best part of our stay was the time spent with our family, as it should be. The house was spacious, both with bedrooms and common areas. The bathroom to bedroom ratio was key to family bliss. The wrap around deck and wood cabin style construction made the house fit the woodsy vacation vibe. The house location was centrally located to visit local sites of interest, although all such activities require driving. There are no trails at the house. Unfortunately, the house showed a lack of love and care that could have made it a standout destination. As other reviews noted, the main refrigerator (the one located in the kitchen) is tired and in need of TLC - it leaks when first loaded up, many shelves and drawers are missing, the ice maker and water dispenser don't work. The back yard smells of sewage from the septic field which detracts from the enjoyability of the property. The cleanliness of the property was questionable, requiring us to clean all kitchen surfaces and wash all dishes, cups, and utensils before use. As mentioned in the prior reviews, the pool table needs to have the felt cleaned or replaced and the trim pieces reattached. Water pressure at the property is low and several bathroom drains are slow - needing to be cleared. Internet service is passable (7M download, 700K upload). The addition of higher speed internet (Starlink or satellite) and equipping the 2 TVs with smart sticks (Roku, FireTV, or Chromecast) would be a good investment. Luckily we had great weather so indoor entertainment needs were minimal. Also strangely the kitchen included a tip envelope to go the cleaning team, when the rental costs include a cleaning fee and the cleaning team is employed by the house hosts. Seems like the host should care for the cleaning team's tip. If we return to this area, I would likely look at alternative properties rather than return to this one as a first choice.

Great place for a family get together. Lots of area for privacy, yet plenty of space for togetherness! Everyone (even the 5 tough aged teens) enjoyed our time there

We rented this house to celebrate 2 people in our friends group that were turning 50. We picked this house because it had enough bedrooms for every couple to have their own space. When we arrived, we realized there was more than enough space with the 8 bedrooms plus 2 loft areas. The only down side was that there wasn't enough room for all of us to eat in one location. Most of the time that didn't matter for us, but if you are wanting a sit down dinner for everyone and it's too cold to be outside, this isn't the house you want. The kitchen was well stocked. The only thing we didn't find was pepper (which we should have brought). There is a store not too far away if you forget something or want to shop before you check in. The only issue we has was with the freezer. A small puddle kept forming on the floor, we thought this was because it wasn't cold enough to keep our ice frozen. So we just moved the ice to another location. No cell service on Verizon, but there is a land line. We had no issues with internet, even using our own Firestick. Our group would definitely stay here again!

Overall - not a bad experience, however, the fridge did leak water from the bottom once we arrived and began to put food in it. There was no television option other than a Bluetooth player so we ended up driving to town to purchase a Roku device so we had some television available to us. The television was not a wall mount so it could not be turned so the sun coming through the large east bound windows created a problem for anyone not directly right in front of the television. The pool table in the basement was extremely warn out and showed signs of visual damage. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen area and other areas of the cabin appears to be very clean. As a whole, I believe our family enjoyed our time there.

We had a 4 nite celebration of the family matriarch. We played games, hot tubbed, hiked and ate some great meals we prepared at the VRBO rental house. We had a terrific time. The house was clean and comfortable for the 14 adults and 3 grandchildren that attended. We had a 18” snowfall and the 1000 foot driveway was played very timely and we were all able to get our cars out without issue. We will be back.

We had pretty much the whole gang in for an extended weekend. It was wonderful! We cooked. We played games. We hot tubbed. We even made gingerbread houses. It was a perfect getaway. Highly highly recommend!

It was a great location - close to all the great trails. The driveway is very steep and the loose gravel made it a little challenging. No bath soap was provided so bring your own. We thankfully brought a Roku with us which is what we needed to get the TV to work. The kitchen did not have some pans we needed like cookie sheets and a 9x13 pan nor were there any sponges - just wash cloths. Appliances were a bit old.

Rented for girls weekend. Enjoyed the wrap around deck and fireplace. Was not happy with reply I got when contacting Serenity Cabins to request an hour early check in or departure. Was reprimanded by them that it is stated I agreement, and not in a nice, customer service way!

We were blown away by the accommodations and beauty of Hidden Valley Lodge. 8 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms with showers, 4 queen beds in the loft that stretched the length of the lodge. Social distancing was not a problem, yet we were all together for what was a fifty-year + reunion for us. (10 men) Pool table needs leveling, but it served us well. The hot tub out on the deck overlooking the wooded hillside was terrific. Close to golf at Hocking Hills Golf Club, 10 minutes to Der Olde Dutchman Buffet and Walmart, and only about 45 minutes to uptown Athens, yet private and secluded in the hills, as promised. TV was only good for DVD's, as the internet is too weak for a ROKU or Firestick. No Verizon service, but T-Mobile did connect. Other than those challenges it was GREAT place. We hope to return next fall!

Exactly what we needed, clean, and well stocked.

Very accommodating for a larger group/family vacation. Spacious, clean, quiet. Had a weekend trip with friends and there were 16 of us. I would recommend this property for anybody looking for a quiet getaway with a larger group of people of all ages.

We loved the secluded location. The driveway could have been a problem for compact cars as it is steep, gravel with ruts. We loved the layout, and the space for the younger kids to roam outside.

The cabin was great! Very comfortable and spacious. The owner got back to me very quickly when I had any questions.

We were glad we didn't have an emergency because our mobile phones wouldn't work. The internet didn't always work and when it did, it worked slowly. Other than that, we liked our stay.

It’s extremely hard to communicate with the manager. He won’t answer questions promptly and when you try to call they won’t even answer. That was my experience, I don’t know how many people experienced this. And there was a power outage from 1pm until 5 am during our stay and when I asked the manger about this of course no answer from them. Please keep in mind that if there’s no power that means no water no, no a/c / hear, nothing to warm up your food because stove and microwave is electric. It was a bad experience for us, so please please be careful when you choose this location.

We had a wonderful time here. We look forward to renting here again :)

Was excellent communication with manager on booking, hot tub was cleaned, beds were nice. Property was very nice, no problem with showers or water with that many people taking showers.. exc would book threw them again....

Very nice cabin with plenty of room for a large group. Manager easy to communicate with and met all of our needs.

The cabin is located in the woods in a lovely place, nevertheless very near shopping center of Logan (7 min) and near a great coffee shop (emporium coffee). The woods surrounds the cabin and you can feel the nature.The cabine is wide with many rooms, altohgh all bathrooms and showers are not connected to any of the rooms. The jacuzzi is great both on temperature and location. The wifi is very very slow and there's no reception in this area so be patient. You can use the land-line phone locateed in the cabin to get calls outside the cabin.The cabin is a bit old but in a good shape and very well designed.The water in the shower runs very slow...probebly the local infrastructure is the main issue.Please take into account that the cabin is located at the end of a gravel trail , the requires some gas on the pedal to get over the stip climb on both ends of the trail (into the cabin , and out back to the asphalt road).The pool table in the lower floor is old with some walls that limits the position but still great addition and was used very well.Other than that it is very well equipped and can easily accommodate 20 people, and we had a great weekend in this great place.
