the location is perfect, right between Buxton and Bakewell, easy to get to many activities.

The heating is not easy to use, if it could have been switched on before we arrived it would have helped.

It's a lovely, well equipped cottage, comfortable, in a very quiet and relaxed location. It is easy to park outside the property, and the locals are friendly. There is a nice pub only steps away, quiet and frequented by regulars. The area of Taddington has some nice walks and is centrally placed to visit Buxton, Bakewell, and Ashbourne. It's easy to find and easy instructions for accessing the property.

Although the cottage appears clean on the surface, it does need a thorough deep clean to justify the high scores rated by other reviewers. We did have to clean the toilet and bathroom sink on arrival. There was also blood stain on the duvet to one of the single beds, I did leave a note as I didn't want them to think it was from me. There were a few other things that need a thorough clean. We reckon the cottage is haunted as we had a few strange experiences, but that kind of thing doesn't bother us, but it may bother other people.

The location, ambiance and cleanliness of the property

I didn't know how to get the heating on as it was cold at night. It will be better if there is instructions how to switch it on and off in case if you need the heating. Booking .com did not send the check in instruction correct. The PIN to get the key to the property was send incorrect. So we end up calling the hosf for the number.

The cottage is pretty, quirky, comfortable and is very well equipped. We stayed in February so particularly loved the log burner and the board games! The location is excellent, plenty of good walks available, excellent pubs and Bakewell is within easy reach. The cottage is very dog friendly and, although there isn’t a garden, there are foot paths and open fields right across the road!

lovely little cottage with everything you need and a great location. a short drive from the nice walks and towns, absolutely perfect for a little get away.
