This house is in a great location to be able to access both Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee. It was nice, clean, and private. I loved that it had a fenced in front yard. Appliances are dated but all in working condition. It had everything we needed but I did miss having my Keurig (no big deal). There was not any WiFi but we did have cell service. The owner was very accessible for questions. I would rent here again next time we come back.

My second time staying in this clean, cozy and comfortable location. Traffic is minimun on the road helping create an atmosphere of solitude. I have no disappointments

Everything you need (except no WiFi). Described as 4 bedrooms, but 1 bedroom did not have a closet & the other bedroom was more of a sleeping area in the basement. My 81 year old dad actually loved the basement area & claimed that as his “man cave”. The house itself was taken care of. Master bath had an adorable hand-painted mural & we loved the stained glass throughout the home. We also hung out on the screened in porch a LOT. The only downfall was the location. The street had mostly mobile homes & run down houses & a vacant house next door with broken out windows, etc. However, with the house being on almost 2 acres, you couldn’t see the neighboring houses.

Our kids were completing their scuba certification, so being right next door to the dive shop worked perfectly for us.

Lake house fantastic location! Lot’s of info in the black binder at the house about falls/hikes, boating and places to go for food. Dining out or meal prep at the house. Plenty of room to spread out. Great fenced in yard.

This was a quaint little house very close to Jocassee. Our family and another family were able to both fit our boats in the driveway, stayed all day at the lake and grilled out while the kids played in the big back yard in the evenings. A perfect summer trip. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

Enjoyed the time I spent at MapleCrest . If you ride motorcycles good home base , If you fish can't beat MapleCrest !!

We had an amazing time at Maplecrest. This is a cozy home located in Devil’s Fork State Park that was a perfect location for our family of four and dog. The fenced front yard was a nice place for our dog to run freely and we enjoyed family time around the fire pit. The home was stocked nicely with necessities. At night we could hear the Whippoorwill’s song and deer running through the woods. We enjoyed being minutes from Lake Jocassee where we enjoyed a private boat tour, paddle boarding, and even saw a few stragglers of the Oconee Bell flower on the Oconee Bell Trail at the park. We also enjoyed hiking Sassafras Mountain and Ravens Rock which were an easy drive away. The closest full size grocery store is about 30 minutes away but the Lakeshop gas station had a good selection of those little things you forget. Due to an emergency our original travel dates ended up needed to be changed days before arriving and John was gracious enough to accommodate us which we appreciated so very much. We will definitely consider Maplecrest again in the future!

Conveniently located for hiking several state parks in the area. Enjoyed the stay!

We loved our brief stay at Maplecrest. Despite the monsoon rains that were very atypical of October, we had a great visit and miraculously got an afternoon break in the rain and got to go on the guided boat tour of the lake by Jocassee Lake Tours (they even started it three hours later for us!). That was our one big plan for our two-night stay so we were very grateful. Our host had provided backup ideas for me when I realized the dismal weather forecast, and was overall very helpful and quick to respond. The house was well-stocked and had everything we needed. The location could not have been better.

This house is close to the boat ramp for the lake, and had enough room for our boat trailer. The large yard and fire pit made for a great afternoon/evening with family. The beds are very comfortable, and there are numerous labels in the home to provide details for our stay.

Located super close to boat landing. While located on not super busy road, the front yard is fenced and there is a large backyard for children. Very relaxing time!

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time at Maplecrest! Super cute house! Just enough room for all of us to have our own space. Plenty of dishes/towels/linens/ etc… Everything we needed for a long weekend getaway!

The host was amazing from the start. He explained everything we needed to know about the house including directions, parking for our boat at the house and recommendations for dinner nearby. The house was equipped with everything we needed (from kitchen supplies to extra blankets and pillows). One of my personal favorite highlights was hanging an Eno hammock on the screened in porch during an afternoon storm (with a beer of course). It was delightful. Me, my 18 year old daughter, and her friend had a wonderful stay. My only issue was not wanting to leave.

We come ever summer to Lake Jocasse as a group of friends. This was the perfect house! It’s very close to the lake and a great yard for parking boats and cars in. The house was well stocked with dishes and pan. John was easy to communicate with and great to work with. We are already planning our next trip.

We wanted to explore Lake Jocassee for the first time and the location simply cannot be beat, just 1 mile from the launch ramp. The house was very clean and well ordered and the beds comfortable. We missed the part about no internet but that's on us. Recommended.

He gave us tons of good information on what do, where to go and we loved it. The property is gorgeous, located on SC mountains, 1 mile off Lake Jocasse. Out dogs enjoyed the freedom of running on his fenced front porch. The house is lovely decorated and furnished with pots and pans to the brim. You will find just about anything you need. If someone have long hair, I suggest bringing a har dryer as the one in the house is pretty small. To fully enjoy the local scenery, be sure to call and schedule activities in advance, and don’t be afraid to ask John for activities suggestions and recommendations. We had a great time, and as we departed, we made sure to vacuum all pet hair and follow John’s checkout cheat sheet posted on his refrigerator. If you are looking for quiet, comfort on a quaint mountain scenery, look no further. Thanks for the hospitality John!
