The grounds of this property are beautiful. It's a historic hotel with beautiful oak trees, the pool facing the lake. We stayed in the Sunset cottage, pet friendly the stairs and hallways were really dirty and smelly. The carpets were black going up the stairs. There is also an additional pet fee of 75.00 unless it's a service animal. The rooms were clean but the bathroom sink was so small it looked more like a school water fountain. No mini fridge to keèp cold water or leftover food. Small tv in the room and bed was very hard.Very good location to stay in downtown Mt.Dora in walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Lakeside Inn is awesome. We had a very relaxing stay and will come again.

This place is gorgeous! So quaint, so cute and loads of history. Cant wait to stay again and hace more adventures around the hotel.

Location and view

Loved Lakeside Inn. Very nice property overlooking the lake. Waterside Bar, Outside seating for all meals. Inside dining room and bar were wonderful. Staff completely attentive and friendly. Just overall, a very lovely experience. Would recommend

There are several beautiful buildings to this historic property and this was the first time I've stayed in the main hotel building. It was a disappointment. Unlike the other buildings there was no ice machine available, no refrigerator in the room, and the room itself was tiny and felt damp. There was one chair kind of blocked by a closet door. Not the experience I have come to expect from Lakeside Inn. Several times I requested a few extra hangars and they never arrived. Ice was available at the bar which doesn't open until 11am. I'll return but request to be in one of the newer (circa 1920's) buildings. Still a favorite.

Amazing stay, 10/10, demonstrating true hospitality the lakeside inn is truely a step back in time. Amazing staff and the rooms were way larger than expected. Will definitely be returning back to the inn very soon.

Beautiful grounds, lovely from the outside. Oy on the inside. Wow does this place need updated. The first room we were in was so bad. Carpet coming up everywhere, filthy unsalvageable carpet that is. Dirty glasses, grey hairs on the bed, it was so cramped you could barely turn around. Had to pay more for a bigger room, which was cleaner but again, wow, does it need updated. This isn’t a case of old charm, this is neglect. It’s a 140 year old building and it shows years of neglect. Carpets need pulled up, paint, I mean just those two cosmetic upgrades would go miles. The whole place smells of mold, mildew, musty. Feels like staying in someone’s attic. Such a shame because the surrounding area is just the cutest, walkable, restaurants, shops, beautiful lake. But it was so bad we chose not to stay our planned second night, we just could not stay in there another night. I question if all of these 10 star reviews actually stayed here. That said, the front desk staff is nice and all the other workers we encountered were very nice as well.

What a wonderful, historic building! The setting is perfect! The easy 2 minute walk to shops and restaurants in the charming town of Mt Dora made it a perfect place to stay!

This beautiful historic inn is well built and well-maintained. My room was clean and quiet and everything worked perfectly. I will stay there anytime I visit Mount Dora.

Check in was a breeze. The place was beautiful. Loved the old Florida style. We stayed in the Sunset Cottage - third floor. Room was very comfortable and the A/C worked GREAT! Bathroom was spacious! So easy to get around the immediate community. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The property is beautiful, right on the lake and right in downtown Mt. Dora, so walkable to all restaurants and shopping. But because it’s an historic inn, rooms do have a very musty old smell, and the individual ac units in the rooms do not cool down rooms enough.

Great stay, the only thing was the mini-split was not working as good as it should. It was a little warm in our room

Better parking is needed

Blinds did not block sunlight. Cobwebs on all the light fixtures. Food and beverage corks found on floor. Dirty shower tile grout. Carpet dirty/disgusting.

A most beautiful location! It’s also fantastic that the historic inn in right in the heart of Mt Dora!

Lakeside Inn has alot of history and is very charming. It is close to everything with beautiful view of the lake. I have stayed here a few times - it never disappoints!

Perfectly located in Mount Dora. It's our go to for whenever we visit the area. Walking distance to all the restaurants and stores in the historic downtown area.

Arrived early. Front desk got us early checkin so we can explore mt Dora and enjoy the pool. Rooms are perfect with no frills for weekend getaway.

Lovely oldest running hotel in Fl. Just a special place in Mt Dora. Breakfast on the front porch overlooking beautiful Lake Dora. Walk to shopping and restaurants. Huge pool. Very quiet with great accommodations. Beds were comfortable. Baths were clean and upgraded yet still the old feel of an almost 250 year old facility. A nice getaway.

Love everything just wish they had mini fridge and coffee maker in room. Morning coffee in the lobby is a nice touch but this does mean getting dressed walking downstairs and across the courtyard for a cup of coffee. Staff is excellent!

My stay there was very good, it's a colonal antique hotel, the floors are wooden so they made crack sounds but its fine.
