The Hyatt Regency has become our hotel of choice when we visit family in Westlake Village. It is "grand" without prohibitive prices and the staff is without exception friendly and efficient. The only down side for us was the unimaginably bad view outside our window -- machinery presumably for HVAC and related functions. The "green" option with a nod to eco friendly gave us discounts on our daily use of the restaurant and coffee service.

This hotel may look and sound nice on the basis of its website and its photos. But I had a horrible experience there last weekend. I had booked a standard king room -- and when I checked in and got to my room, we were stunned. The room had one TINY window, and it looked directly into a huge concrete wall/room literally ONE FOOT away. This was basically a windowless room. The front desk would not change my room, stating the hotel was sold out - and that was it. They wouldn't even consider trying to do something for me. Out of the question. Further, the next morning there was leftover food and trash sitting on some kind of catering table just doors away from our room. And right outside our door the next morning, there was a luggage cart with a wet and soiled towel hanging from it. Disgusting.
I reached out to Hyatt's customer service team on Twitter, and they were apologetic and said they had been in touch with the hotel and a manager would reach out to me to apologize and see what could be done. No one from the hotel bothered to do that, even just to say they were sorry for the room I was given. It was pathetic. And I will never step foot in another Hyatt as long as I live. You don't treat guests that way and expect them to return.

The facility was cared for however, the room we were assigned was right over the roof top heating cooling system making it loud during the night.

Asked for a quiet room and we heard traffic all night and loud guests in hallway 11:15-12:00 midnight.
Sliding door hard to open and very noisy on track. Obviously an old door/track.
Hinges on bathroom door were rusty and painted over.

Able to check in early. Staff at the desk was friendly and got it done. Beautiful grounds nd easy access to the parking lot. Would stay here again.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious with many options and the staff was attentive to our particular requests. The pool and hot tub were available and just what we needed at the end of a day. Hotel is super easy to get to off of Highway 101. There is a big shopping center with many restaurants just across the street.

Most everything was great. Sadly the bed was terribly worn out, so bad that it was painfully easy to feel a dip in the mattress where ones midsection rests. I couldn’t sleep well at all on this mattress, stayed two nights and both were terrible even tho I switched rooms. Both rooms had equally bad mattresses. Everything else was good but I would never consider coming back unless I knew that they had replaced the mattresses.

I always enjoy staying here. The rooms are large and the king beds are very comfortable. I do find it really rude that there are always two bottles of water awaiting you... after a long drive... that are only for "members" or something like that. Just give complimentary water.

I've stayed at the property several times over the years but not for a while prior to this trip and sad to say, the place hgas declined - it looks tired, the room was not cleaned thoroughly and cleaning was missed on one day. And to cap it all, I was told by the breakfast team in the restaurant that there were no gluten free options - I'm celiac so what that meant was no breakfast for me!

the hotel center and room were excellent. The staff was very helpful. Had an unexpected fire alarm at 4:30am the first morning., the staff gave me a new room and restaurant credit. All was great the rest of the week

Air conditioning did not work. They sent maintenance to my room, however, it stopped working after he left.

So disappointed regular black or orange pekoe tea not available in the dining room or hotel room, only herbal teas available. I specifically asked the waiter & was told only herbal teas available. Unbelievable! Tea of any sort not replenished in room either.

The cost was very reasonable but the room was very sparse. There was terrible lighting in the room so it was hard to see, there was no suitcase rack and it would be nice to offer free water in the room.

The room was fine but at night the HVAC was right outside the room and was so loud we really couldn't sleep. Avoid the third floor facing the pool. What a shame.
