I stayed here last year about the same time and I only return to Hotels I really like. Great public areas and a large breakfast buffet it's walking distance from bars, restaurants and beach clubs but peaceful enough to rest. I'm 99% I will be going back to Puerto Banus in August and will be staying at Hotel Occidental.

This hotel is perfectly situated near popular dining options and a short walk to the Puerto Banús designer shopping strip. Overall the room was quite spacious and relatively modern. The breakfast buffet served a variety of breakfast options (eggs, bacon, breads, yogurts, fruits, etc). The pool area was also quite nice and has an outdoor bar. The frozen margaritas were great! Only cons about this hotel were: The front desk personnel upon check-in wasn’t very friendly at all. He seemed a bit cold and annoyed actually. If you’re renting a car, the only parking available is in the garage, which was roughly $28 per day. There was also no drinking water provided in the room. Overall I rate the hotel and experience an 8/10.

Contemporary property and very clean. Close to all the Puerto Banus has to offer. Excellent buffet breakfast. All around an excellent property.

The amount of perfume they stay in air will make you gag. They also allow smoking IN the rooms so be prepared not to breathe

I left the hotel and just couple of hours I realized that left my bag with clothes and sunglasses called the hotel they said sand email with information, I asked my friend to go and get it but they said there wasn’t anything left, it was worth of almost $6000, very disappointed, be extra careful don’t forget anything they won’t give it back

First time visit to the Occidental as our usual hotel, the Melia Marbella Banus has lost the best part of hotel grounds, pool & waterfall. The Occidental subsequently is far superior for roughly the same price. The location is absolutely perfect for the El Corte Ingles department store, the Puerto Banus marina, the beach and also the daily plaza market and the Saturday weekly market, all within a minutes walking distance. The hotel itself is spacious, extremely clean, with a couple of restaurants and bars. The buffet breakfast is extensive and caters for all needs and operates a very efficient service. Options for dining inside or on the outside terrace are also available. The rooms are also spacious and soundproofed. Very clean with daily housekeeping and the bathrooms have large walk in showers and a double sink vanity unit, I honestly cannot fault it. Any room service requirements can be ordered from the hotel app, but this was not terribly reliable. A quick call down to reception provided a more immediate service. There are 2 pools, a swimming pool and shallow pool for youngsters. The music around the pool is a little loud to be honest, and seems to difficult to escape as the speakers are spread around various areas of the both pools. This is genuinely the only issue I had at this hotel and certainly not enough to prevent me returning. Ear plugs to the rescue! Very happy customer and I shall most definitely be returning.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area was lovely but it would have been nice if it opened a bit earlier- currently 11am. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent property in the heart of Puerto banus

Had a fabulous time at this hotel. Our room was for 3. The double bed was huge we had a sofa bed which wasn’t that comfy but we managed. The bathroom was lovely with a huge shower and double sinks. The toilet could have done with a door for more privacy. The balcony was adequate for 3 people although the room was close to the road so it was quite nosey. The breakfast was excellent with everything you could think of! The hotel is perfectly located a walking distance from the marina and all the restaurants.

Very nice hotel with serviceminded staff. However, located close to the busy motorway, so quite a bit of traffic noise.

very little to say apart from if you like hotels by a motorway, stay there - when we checked out after 1 night no one asked why we were leaving early. I guess they are used to it...

Lovely welcome upon arrival and was selected as a VIP customer so received some goodies (cava, bathrobe and slippers… those little luxuries of life). Was not expecting this! Looks like we all entered into a draw for this or something like that when booking, thank you very much! Room is very spacious, well maintained with nice views of the main square and a bit of the sea. Shower is good too! Breakfast is great, it has many options and good quality product. Staff is very warm and helpful. I haven’t used the swimming but it is a lovely spot to sunbathe and relax. No rowdy customers on sight, it is family oriented, therefore, great stay! Will be back as soon as I can.

Staff were very helpful and courteous. We asked a couple of questions about getting to different places and the staff went over and above to help us. We only had breakfast at the hotel and the food was very nice. We used the pool bar and the staff again were lovely and food was lovely. Would definitely recommend snd stay at this hotel again
