I stayed here with my spouse and our three kiddos ages 5,8, and 10. There were tons of restaurants in walking distance, lots of free street parking close by, and since we had a beach front room, a wonderful view from the balcony! My kids spent a ton of time going back and forth from the beach to the hotel pool (to warm up!) and it was so easy since the hotel is right on the beach! Front desk workers were awesome, even offering to call the onsite EMT when I told them my daughter had caught some sort of a stomach bug and thrown up out front of the hotel. Likewise they were quick to bring in a rollaway bed and new sheets and comforter when she got sick again later. Loved the waters offered by the desk; saved us a ton since my kids didn't like the taste of the tap water. The games in the courtyard were a hit with my kiddos, and the fact they have chairs and umbrellas and towels and such for loan right as you walk onto the sand outside the hotel (so mom doesn't have to pack all of that or lug it from a car a long ways) was a hit with me! We'll definitely stay here again in the future!

The location was perfect. Great beach. Lots of outdoor activities. Very good restaurants within walking distance.

Pool area wasn’t kept up from people leaving towels and trash. And hot tub was ridiculously too small

Curtains in the room, tv and air could use an update. For location and price staff training and amenities (like coffee in the rooms) need some attention. Also to take the coffee in the lobby away at 9am seems a little cheap.

It is a older hotel with a lot of charm. Clean and great views.

We had a wonderful stay here over a long weekend. We would definitely return to this property. It was cute and very much a quintessential California Beach Hotel.

Best location. Right on the beach. Chairs towels and umbrellas are available for free. Restaurant right facing the ocean. Complimentary water.

Had a great stay! Older hotel, not super modern. But everything was clean, and comfortable and looked nice! Location was perfect! In more of a residential area instead of hotel central! This made it feel more private! The main strip with shops, restaurants, etc was just around the corner! So easy to walk to! There is a public parking lot close, so beach can get busy-ish but never seemed over crowded after Labor Day when we were there!

I have stayed at this property many times. I was surprised at how rude and unprofessional the beach staff were when setting up umbrellas and chairs.

The room was nice but needed updating! The grounds and elevators were very dirty but the pool area was nice! The shore restaurant had very bad service! The front desk staff was very friendly!

Too many kids in the Jacuzzi. Felt thats more for adults. Larry from the shuttle service was FANTASTIC. Really cool that this hotel does shuttle services. Will definitely stay again.

This is an older hotel so it comes with charm as a result. That said, you can’t beat the location and they have added great amenities each year.

Very noisy. So many kids that we could not even stay by the pool. They completely took over the pool and hot tub area. Unsure why toddlers are allowed to play in the hot tub. Beach area is dirty and unkept.

View was perfect. If you do any outdoor activities, they all are right there on the beach.

Our all-time SoCal Ocean favorite. Room had inop light, broken safe, and housekeeping that didn't clean coffee maker.

This is my favorite place to stay in La Jolla. My family and I stay here every year as a weekend getaway. It is just steps away from the beach. The hotel and beach are well maintained. The hotel has a spa feel and the staff is very friendly. There are cute restaurants and shops nearby.I just love this place and highly recommend if you are looking for a beautiful quiet beach getaway!
