Had booked me three nights (Monday through Wednesday) in Romantik Alpenhotel Waxenstein. On Friday afternoon I been called by my daughter's teacher who informed me that her daughter had vomited and she did'nt feel good. My daughter's condition worsened the forward evening in addition to vomiting, she also had diarrhea. The night on Sunday I started to vomit. The first thing I did on Sunday was to call Hotels.com to cancel the trip. Then I get the message that the Romantik Alpenhotel Waxenstein hotel does not accept calicivirus, so-called winter jerk disease. Apart from having tried to reach the hotel, I also emailed 2 times without any results. Romantik Alpenhotel Waxenstein hotel should be accommodating for humanitarian reasons and refund me the fee which was about 430 euros for those nights. Than I had been able to infect the other guests of the hotel if I had gone.

The most exceptional hotel. Wonderful service and facilities in a beautiful setting.

The hotel stand in a beautiful area, a lot of nature and hiking trails. The rooms are various, ask for room with balcony. Great restaurant in the Hotel.

Lovely hotel in typical Bavarian style. Our room 63 had been updated and was very nice. The view of the mountains from our room was an added bonus. The bed was a bit hard for me but that’s my only complaint! The toiletries, duck dressed in a dirndle and free mini bar were great perks. The spa and swimming pools are very relaxing after a day climbing mountains or paddle boarding on the lake. Breakfast was also delicious and there was loads of choice. A fantastic 3 nights in a beautiful place.

Amazing - staff, rooms, accommodation, cleanliness and facilities are all second to none. We shall definitely return and would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Exceptional hotel with views of the Alps. Lots to do. Excellent food, beautiful setting, perfect for couples and families.

We had a wonderful time at Alpenhof Murnau. We felt taken care of the entire time, and the receptionists are smiling and service minded. We'd love to return!

The staffs are friendly and the breakfast are nice. Rooms with Alpens view.

I stayed at this hotel only one night for business, but it was quite comfortable. I'm not a big fan of Alps-style hotels (lots of pine, chalet style), and the decor in the room wasn't exactly the most modern, but it was very clean, in good condition, and overall I was happy with the accommodation. The room service food and breakfast buffet were good, the staff are excellent (very friendly and helpful), and you even get to take the Trachtenmode-clad rubber ducky with you, so overall very pleased with this choice.

Stayed with adult family. This was my second time here (first for business) and I continue to be impressed with the Alpenhof Murnau. The staff is very welcoming and helpful (they even gave us a ride to the train when it was raining). The breakfast is superb. My family enjoyed the indoor pool and sauna. Much bigger rooms than many European hotels and every one has a view to the Alps. The only drawback is that its a bit away from the town center (20 min. walk).

Stayed there in July 2015. Amazing experience. Excellent location, very quite, very romantic, close to Newschwanstein, Linderhof, etc. Great location for driving around rural Bavaria. Great location for hiking too. We loved the hotel and the staff. The restaurant was very good, too. Sorry we didn't plan to stay longer.

Stayed here with my two teenage boys - Very helpful staff, lovely buffet breakfast, superb sauna/swimming area, comfortable room.

Hotel location is isolated and away from the city center by walking. It is much safer to drive to the center. We reserved two rooms not connected. However, we experienced load TV noise from other connected room and we can hear the people. The isolation is not good.

We only spent one night at the hotel, but could have stayed for much longer. The view of the Alps from the room was spectacular, and the room itself modern and comfortable. We spent the entire afternoon in the pool and the different saunas, and also lounged in the relaxation room with the delicious teas offered there. Restaurant was also good, but quite pricey for the quality. All in all, highly recommended hotel, we're definitely going back.
