It was a lovely visit to pick up my grandson from CSUMB to spend Thanksgiving with us. This is my hotel of choice when I go to the Monterey area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

We stayed a single night because my son had an early event at Laguna Seca Raceway. The room had a wet musty smell. Although the room looked somewhat updated, I have to wonder if they renovated by just painting over mold and mildew. The bathroom was bad and I believe that is what made the rest of the room smell. We didn't complain to the front desk because we thought the smell would dissipate if we turned the AC on full blast when we left for dinner. It didn’t help, but we felt like it was too much trouble since we were leaving at 7 am. We just kept the bathroom door closed and the AC on high

When we booked this place, it led us to be that it was on the Monterey Bay Marina. It is not anywhere near any type of beach or Bay. We had the room that was 300 ft.² which was good but the air condition system only cooled one part of the room it never. Cooled the bedroom. The shower didn’t have any water pressure. The room was smelly or sour smell. The breakfast was mediocre. Same thing every day nothing special about it. hopefully, I will never have to stay at another comfort Inn.

It was a comfortable enough stay; the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was standard, the location was convenient. It was a fairly noisy hotel however; we were right next to the breakfast area, so we could hear the beeping of the waffle maker, every single word spoken, and every step taking up and down the corridor.

There are various places to stay while on the Monterey Peninsula. We stay in Marina because it has less traffic, quite surroundings and affordability. 10 minutes away from the action in Monterey, 30 minutes from Santa Cruz, the location is wonderful for using as a home base. It is typically foggy in Marina during the summer months, but fog can be so comforting at the end of the day.

The area and staff were awesome. The suna and fitness room is for 18 and over. The only problem with breakfast was there was no hot chocolate, the a/c in the room didn't work so it was hot and stuffy, but the room was clean and the staff were friendly.
