Staff were great The shower was useless a water drip really, the noise of the extractor fan was roaring until I called reception about it at sometime after 10pm only then it was turned off. But the food was good value for money.

This was a nice hotel right on the river in Ballina. It was within walking distance to pubs and shops.

The rooms at the back of the hotel suffer from Fan noise from the kitchens until around 10pm I was right above it and could also smell food being cooked which wasn’t pleasant. The water pressure isn’t good on the shower.
Service in the bar and restaurant is great! And the food and views are lovely.

Beautiful older hotel. Excellent staff. The restaurant has great food and a relaxing atmosphere overlooking the river. Walls are pretty thin as you can hear conversations in the halls and adjacent rooms.

Amazing stay at The Lakeside, kind receptionist upgraded us to to a beautiful Waterfront room due to anniversary. Friendly and professional staff , lovely breakfast and the whole feel of the hotel was relaxed and inviting , would highly recommend !

Lovely older hotel with lots of charm. We booked our room with breakfast which was very nice. The only downside was the pillows needed switching out, they were flat and hard. Otherwise everything was lovely.
We had the king bed suite overlooking the water.

Our three-night stay was truly rewarding ...with a well appointed and spacious room ( 101 ) , a warm and efficient service from all members of the team and the food was so good ( Including breakfast ) that we had our three dinners at the hotel with the extraa benefit of being taken care by Joey who is really the perfect host and the best possible ambassador for the Lakeside Hotel. Quality / Price ratio really good....We'll defnitely be back.

Waterfront room with a stunning view of the river. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and restaurant was very allergy friendly. Our stay was beyond expectations!

Unfortunately only a very short visit to the area on business, but nevertheless the hotel and staff ticked all the right boxes, with a good breakfast in the morning to send you on your way.

AMAZING HOTEL. It has everything! Great views. Excellent service. Beautiful grounds. Good food. This was a last minute booking because we changed our route. Can't say enough nice things about it. We consistently shared our experience with other travels & Irish people we encountered.

We had a lovely time the staff were so nice and helpful, the only downfall was the mattress was so uncomfortable myself and my Wife seen every hour, it was so so uncomfortable, I am sorry I didn’t say it checking out

Nice comfortable and clean hotel with some wonderful views. Quiet town, but a few bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel bar a little small, if busy, make sure you book a table for food/drink, as some guests were turned away.

Difficult to sleep at night because the room was not dark (lots of light came in around the edges of the blinds, and there were no curtains). There was also a strong smell of cooked food all the time (I think the kitchen ventilation must have been very nearby). Bathroom was very small for the size of the room and water leaked all over the floor when using the shower screen.

lovely warm friendly welcome at the reception and this was the same all the way through. lots of hand sanitizers and wiping down credit card machine after use etc. swimming pool was fabulous. every place was spotless. room service was fantastic food was delicious. within walking distance to shops, church, bank, walks etc. man in tourist office very helpful. cruise was excellent.

Lakeside Hotel has an old and new part to the building. The old part has rooms with no soundproofing from the noisy fans outside that run loudly throughout the night. Do not stay in this part of the hotel. The rooms in the waterfront part are beautiful and luxurious with a great view of the lake.

Staff and meals (both quality and service) was pretty good.
The hotel itself and the rooms are very old, clearly in a need of refurbishment. In our room the bath was great and recently renewed, but the room itself, and specially the bed was poor. Also a lot of noise from other rooms.

This hotel is fully Covid compliant without affecting the running of the hotel. The staff were fantastic and everywhere was spotless.Riverside rooms were spacious, beds very comfortable and pillows top class. Well done.
