This hotel have really had its golden days. You can see that. Its still a beautiful place but would need a little touch up here and there. The restaurant for our dinner was great and so our server. We did sleep really well and breakfast was good with a great mix of things. I would stay here again.

Overall a really nice hotel with a great decor. The spa was not running when we visited. The food at the restaurant was good, especially the breakfast.
A bit to pricey for what you get but definitely not a bad experience.

Nice hotel with good service, but too expensive for what it is. Nicely decorated room, but we had a window facing the street, bathroom and shower are very small for this category, no air conditioning, no swimming pool so in my view not a five star hotel as advertised. Also be careful of the hidden costs, we were charged € 20 extra for our dog - I always wonder what for, do they not clean the room if you don’t have a dog? Also breakfast (which was arguably good) is a hefty € 29 per person, so in the end our room went from € 209 to more than € 280. All in all a nice hotel but too expensive for what it is.

I strongly recommend this hotel. The room was nice with a good view of the old castle ruins on top of a mountain. The surroundings were beautiful and the service excellent. It's also conveniently located, close to Göttingen and the Harz mountains.

Great hotel, lovely details and friendly staff, beautiful rooms, great breakfast. The only downside was the very soft mattress, and in my view breakfast should be included in the room rate as in most other hotels.
Overall fantastic hotel though and i would come back again, but please change the mattresses...

Lovely hotel to spend the night on the way to or from the south. It almost seems like a time pocket. Very hospitable staff, we were allowed to lend the key to the nearby castle ruin, a wonderful experience. Good restaurant.

One of the best hotels we have visited, the staff was so nice and the food was excellent. We got a fantastic room and traveled with a dog but that was no problem at all. This is really a 5-star hotel.

The staff was great. The room was very pretty and exactly as pictured online. The food was excellent. But, it was really hot! There is no air conditioning and the room was uncomfortable because of it. We asked for a fan, but did not receive one. Our glass door was adjacent to a common veranda so we could not have the door open more that a crack at the top at night. We opened the window at the top (the only option besides opening the glass door) but we had to have the drapes closed because there was a light right outside our room and there would have been absolutely no privacy. There was no air flow. It was so hard to sleep.

You pay for a nice quiet stay, as usual, but have children crying in the dining room late at night- we arrived 4 hrs late due to road repairs!!!- and also for breakfasts. Not worth paying the high price for this.

This place is charming. The staff went out of their way to communicate and make us feel comfortable. The food quality and service was excellent. Breakfast was not only served beautifully, but with many options and great quality. We definitely would recommend booking here.

This hotel's hospitality is amazing. The service persons kindly cared about whether I could stay comfortably. The interior was chic as well as gorgeous. I really felt as if had I stayed at a castle. On the first day of my stay, I got a homemade pound-cake and pears with a message card for welcoming guests. The breakfast buffet was very delicious and offered their specials (pate of wild boar). The bistro managed by the hotel offered great dinner. Nevertheless, all of these services were priced reasonably. I definitely recommend this hotel to people visiting this area including Göttingen.

This hotel is surrounded by amazing nature. Great stuff, great dinner, but the bed was a nightmare. Sorry to say that, but a five star facility has to provide comfortable matresses.
