The hotel was a bit hard to get to with luggage and no taxi service but once we arrived there were no complaints. The staff was friendly and check in was very quick. The room was great, the food superb and the complimentary champagne and history lesson was very interesting and much appreciated.

The hotel and grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. Our room was large and very well-appointed. Enjoyed the champagne welcome and the top notch dining experience.

What a fabulous experience! Beautiful castle with a wonderful sunrise view. Service was fantastic and Brian went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

Terrific property with very hospitable host. Huge lovely room. Short on amenities - no bath soap/body wash, tissues, robes, slippers. Unfortunately, noisy guests partying until after 1am. Early start meant no breakfast available

Everyone at this hotel and in the town of Clifden is so welcoming and friendly. We felt right at home from the minute we arrived until the minute we checked out. The meals are outstanding, and the staff really do go out of their way to make you feel special. Wonderful visit!! Highly recommend.

We loved our one night stay! Wish we could have stayed longer, but the airport was calling us! The whole experience was amazing… From the super sweet welcome at the front desk, to the complimentary champagne welcome party, and breakfast in the morning. The view from our room was magical and the sounds of water and birds was so relaxing. If we ever come back to this part of Ireland we will most definitely revisit this location! Well done!! Also noticed it was child friendly, and what kid doesn’t want to run around a castle?!

Fantastic property and the staff were the best we experienced in the country. We are so pleased with this property, we are planning our next trip already and making sure we stay a bit here again.

Our stay was very pleasant, although during the Pandemic, we felt unsafe a couple of times. Some guests gathered in group in bar area. Some staff didn't wear masks. Dinner tables were a little too close.

The Abbeyglen is a lovely old world hotel, in a beautiful area of Clifden.

Liked the friendly staff but they had a busy weekend and you could see they were stretched. Room was clean and all amenities provided. However it was too warm at night and no air con.Asked to book restaurant on check in and was informed no need to book they will accomodate you. When we arrived fown to the bar we were told not a hope if getting a table they were too busy. Joke!! Not impressed. Roger the barman was very helpful and recommended a lovely restaurant in the town. Would have expected porridge to be made to order instead of in a heated pot. Breakfast food was not very hot. At check out there was only one receptionist at peak check out times. Wouldnt be in a rush to go back.

perfect on every way ..there was even a porter who came to the car to take innour bags!!

A beautiful castle with large rooms and excellent touches — our fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and walk of the grounds made a short stay feel extra special.

Very nice. It's a shame they ruin the view with petrol tanker for the heliport though.
