This is such an amazing place to stay. The rooms are magnificent and the staff here all go above and beyond to make you happy! The restaurants serve amazing food too xx

An exceptionally high standard of personalised service and a housekeeping team who are truly second to none.
We loved the breakfasts, the tranquility of the estate, the visiting birds, and the peace of our garden cottage. The only thing we didn't enjoy was waiting for 40 minutes for our dinner reservation at Sage, particularly as the table had been booked weeks in advance.

This is the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in quite a few around the world! Everything from the staff, rooms, food, facilities were just perfect, we really couldnt fault anything.

This is a nice property in general (very well maintained gardens, nice pool) and staff was very welcoming. However, our room was a bit run down, furniture beat up and carpet with many stains. It was cold outside when we were there (September) and the only way to heat the room was a wood burning fireplace which was not my cup of tea.

Overall we had a pleasant stay at Hunters. The grounds are stunning, the restaurants on the complex are fab and all of the staff were excellent and very attentive.
However I do think it was slightly overpriced and could do with a bit of a make over.
Our room was right next to the breakfast courtyard (basically in the courtyard) which gave for very little privacy in the morning when guests were eating out there. It was also incredibly noisy with a water feature that ran constantly, day and night. The thatched roof provided little soundproofing. I know we booked the entry rate room but for a 5* hotel and the price we paid, you don’t expect that.
The room was also quite cold and the heater didn’t seem to give off much heat, so not sure how pleasant it would be in the winter.

No denying the location and grounds of this property are awe inspiring ! Totally beautiful. The whole area and overall experience gorgeous. However rooms are getting very tired and facilities within the rooms tired and in need of a more high end makeover. That being said it sort of adds to the charm. Luckily they have a new GM Annelle and I think she will shake things up a bit. She sorted a service/communication issue out for us magically ..

Lovely grounds, feels like having your own little countryside cottage among lush vegetation.
The cottages might seem a little dated, rustic rather than luxurious.
Service and attention to detail could have been better.
Overall a pleasant stay but overpriced.

A little piece of heaven. The grounds, the rooms, the food, the team, everything was amazingly perfect. From little surprise touches (that I won't ruin for others) to the fun and beauty of the team. This is not a hotel, this is an experience and it should not be missed.
We joined for honeymoon and hope to jo you again for a special anniversary or to renew our vows, if we are lucky.
Highly recommend Zianos, which again was amazing.

Spectacular property. Lovely colonial style hotel which is a very pleasant place to spend a relaxing few days. The hotel room was small and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and the restaurant, Zinzi, is amazing. Hope we can return.

What a wonderful, well-managed and comfortable place. Everything was just superb! Luxurious, but not ostentatious! much thought given by management to make each guest's experience very special. Fully and tastefully fitted bedrooms, fine restaurants and great menus make for a comfortable stay, with not a care in the world. One's every wish is taken care of, often without the need to express it!! The gardens are wonderful, and there is a secluded chapel in the woods. One can take easy, gentle walks around the estate to Tsala Tree Tops and the Zinzi Restaurant, each of which has an own special menu, setting and atmosphere!
In my opinion, there are very few resorts/hotels in the country that can compete with Hunters Country House! It is just very special, and I shall be back very soon for more thoughtful pampering!!

I spent the most wonderful night at Hunters. From the moment I arrived until the moment I reluctantly left it felt like “I belonged”.
The staff could not do enough for you, the meals were stupendous, and the comfort was outstanding. I really can’t praise it highly enough.
My only regret was I was only there for the one night.

Lovely country hotel with excellent staff good restaurants and beautiful grounds. Very spacious rooms which have a lot of character. The suite we stayed in had quite a traditional decor. We would have preferred something a bit more contemporary and the age began to show as well.

Stunning location. Beautiful gardens and grounds. The thatched garden cottage was spotless, charming, comfortable and cozy. We were so thrilled to spend four days there. The staff was superb - helpful, friendly, acommodating and very attentive. Food was delicious, with many options. All of the little extra touches were so special and very much appreciated. We had a memorable 20th anniversary and hope to be back one day again.

The best hotel we stayed on our trip down the Garden Route. Amazing service and hospitality. We stayed in Room 7 and it was spacious and clean. Really wished we could have stayed longer!

Lovely two night stay beautiful room even had a fire lit in our room when the weather turned chilly .it was my birthday and we received a complimentary bottle of champagne and in the evening all the staff sang happy birthday at dinner embarrassing but enjoyable ,we had a lovely meal and very reasonable at Zini restaurant we wanted to sit outside although a bit chilly lovely fire and patio heater kept us warm . SA hospitality above and beyond our expectations

Hard to fault this hotel. Thatched roof cottage rooms are splendid. Garden views are cool and tranquil. Three separate dining options offer variety and high quality. Staff are consistently helpful and smile a lot.
