We loved our stay at this fabulous property!! It was perfect for our multigenerational family!! The grandchildren enjoyed the pool every day!! We had no issues because everything was already thought of...never had to contact the owner!!! We hope to be able to stay here again in the near future!!! We loved staying at this home. It is far enough away from everything to enjoy peace, quiet, the beautiful surroundings, but close enough to hop on the Larkspur ferry or drive to the city of San Francisco. And if you don't want to go to SF, you can visit the many wonderful little towns around the house - Ross, San Anselmo, Sausalito, Larkspur. This area is safe which is a big deal when traveling to SF. We walked the neighborhood almost every morning to enjoy the charming houses and the beautiful landscaping. The house itself was perfect for our family of four - parents and two teenagers. Everyone had their own space and their own bathroom. The fire pit, hot tub, pool, and hammocks were a nice addition and very welcoming after being tourists in the city and surrounding area. The house is stocked nicely with everything you need. We always ate breakfast at home and often packed a lunch for our day travels. Dinners were amazing in the surrounding area, so go and enjoy! We particularly enjoyed traveling to Muir Woods (only 20 min from house) and hiking for 3 hours; visiting Alcatraz - we rode the Larkspur ferry over to SF and walked to the Alcatraz pier so we wouldn't have to find or pay for parking (highly recommend the ferry!!!); enjoying the city of SF with all the sights and sounds and food - Little Italy, the Ferry Building, Guiradelli Chocolate, ChinaTown, Coit Tower, and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge; and Sausalito (15 min from house) with all of its charm - we shopped and ate at Saylors and the Seafood Peddler (highly recommend both.) Because we stayed at this home which was about 20 - 30 minutes from all of these things, we were able to have a wonderful relaxing time without staying in the city and worrying about parking and noise and safety. It was wonderful! We would definitely stay here again!!! Thank you, Hodges family!

The house was perfect. Quiet and peaceful.

A great place for a family reunion.Our toddler, tweens and teens enjoyed all the amenities, especially the pool. It enabled the adults to enjoy catch up conversations on the deck. House is spacious with lots of room to spread out and enjoy some awesome views.Visited Alcatraz, got tickets for Beach Blanket Babylon, hiked, walked to San Anselmo each day to enjoy the many restaurants and get great take out at Comforts.The owners give detailed directions and are easily accessible for questions or concerns. We were sad to leave and would definitely rent this home again.

Beautiful view, lovely shops and restaurants within walking distance (cucina and marinitas for dinner). Great space, enjoyed the pool, hot tub and fire pit!

Don't know where to begin. The house is super charming in a very upscale neighborhood of multi-million $ homes (we could not resist going into an open house nearby). House is unique in that it is tucked away and not visible by neighbors or from the street, we liked the privacy (especially with our screaming kids!). The kids spent countless hours playing the Foosball outdoors, as well as lounging on the hammock. The views from the house are absolutely lovely. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit every night. We actually walked several nights to some very nice restaurants and ice cream, perhaps just 15 minutes. Also enjoyed hiking with the kids to top of the mountain viewed from the house. Location was great, central to all. We hope to back soon!!

If you find yourself lucky enough to snag a rental at Ross Retreat, you will be pleased. The house is equipped beautifully, down to nice pots and pans. There is always a place around the house perimeter to find sun or shade. The pool and hot tub bring a spa quality to the site. The lot itself is completely private. We loved being between the city and nature. It was a quick drive to the ferry and San Fran. Only 36 miles put us out on Pacific beaches, lighthouse and beautiful moors. The owner is very organized with instructions, so no worrying about the details. Loved it.

Lovely home with character, a very private feel and great views across the valley. Plenty of living areas and bedrooms and great deck and heated pool - ideal for holidaying with another family as there was space to relax for both teens and adults. Very pretty neighborhood with delightful walk into Ross and San Anselmo for coffee, treats, restaurants, gifts etc. Ideal if you plan to spend some days in San Francisco ( great ferry trip from Larkspur) and some days relaxing locally - or just hang out by the pool and have a nice BBQ !
