We stay at the Mercure several times annually. Their reasonably priced airport shuttle is easy to or from FCO. Their parking is adequate. Their rooms are a nice size - especially for an airport hotel! Breakfast is large, varied, tasty and buffet so ready when you are. If you choose not to go out, their restaunat is a fine choice and to lounge in the grassy courtyard enjoying a drink and appitizer by the pool is bliss. Or a short walk away is the canal and pubs to elegant restaurants, fishing boats to live music the perfect start or end to an Italian stay.

I will begin this review with the famous opening line of Docker's, Tale of Two Cities, " ''It was the worst of times, it was the best of times". Positive is where I like to focus. This hotel has the best included breakfast I have ever experienced at a hotel. Win! The room also had a much better than average bathroom. Well done. The deal breakers were twofold: the air conditioning was very. poor. At about 3am in the morning the room finally became comfortable in the August Rome heat. We had called patience and they tried but... no. Also the WIFI was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. So..if you like breakfast and a good shower come here. If you value comfort in the summer and are dependent upon good wifi, maybe find somewhere else.

Hotel shower was not clean, walls were partially painted and drapes very dusty. Nice to have the pool and bar. Front desk staff were very helpful. Had to pay for the airport shuttle, first time I’ve had that happen.

it was a pleasant stay. Reasonable price and friendly staff. I would suggest future travellers to check the shuttle schedule first (which is available online) instead of going to the waiting area directly.

The air conditioning didn’t work, it was 27 degrees in our room. I asked at the front desk for a fan and was told they didn’t have any. The man at reception said he would send someone to look at it. After an hour of no one coming I went back down to enquire. I asked if they had any rooms where the air conditioning was working and I was told curtly “we are fully sold out”. The maintenance person came to my room and suggested I change rooms and he called the front desk at which time there were lots of rooms available. In fact they then showed me several rooms within a couple doors of our original room but the air conditioning wasn’t working in any of them. I’m sure it can not keep up with the hot summer Rome has had but our dollar doesn’t go far compared to Euros and it was a very expensive and very uncomfortable night with very little sleep. I was pretty close to jumping into the po at 2 am. Pools in Italy close way too early in general. To top it off I woke up with some unfortunate and distinctive red bumps on one leg. We could get out of there fast enough this morning.

Good hotel. The plus sized life guard should be fired. He was extremely rude and grumpy. Maybe you should give him extra snacks to keep him happy. He screamed at us for using the pool and forced us to shower every time we wanted to reenter. Very rude and aggressive.

We wanted a room before a long flight and were given a room without working AC. This was obviously a problem as the room thermostat was set at 5c and it was like a furnace. No concern shown by hotel staff

Excellent hotel. Very comfortable bed. Love the outdoor pool bar. One minor complaint. Pool is close for 1 hour during the peak afternoon. Was super hot. But will stay there again

The Mercure is convenient if flying out of Fiumicino. Other than that I’d never stay there.

Not even a cup or glass in the room for a drink of water or coffee. Bed like a rock. Restaurant service non existent. Chef forgot our meal entirely. Shuttle service hard to find with nothing to say hotel name and expensive. Should be free.

Outdated rooms, poor AC in the room, they don't turn the AC on in the common area, it was 40 degrees outside! Grumpy staff!

My room stank of cigarette smoke, the minibar was empty the pillow covers were still damp the carpet in the room old & rough…. Sheets pillows towels & mattress poor quality Door to the room didn’t shut properly Swimming pool food very expensive & salty staff not very professional or usually congregated to talk to each other….

It's neither great, nor bad. Just an average property close to the airport.

It was dirty and smelled terrible

the staff were friendly & check in was easy but the hotel is dated and run down. The bed was like cardboard with springs poking through.

The only negative was that the pool did not open until 10am and the checkout is at 11am. It was a very quick swim for the kids in the morning which they were disappointed about.

I haven't been this disappointed iabout an hotel in many years. Its old, th carpet in my room dirty, the walls with humidity. Its the worts relation price/value i ever had. The hotel is extremely expensive and extremely bad mantained. Not even shampoo in teh bathroom. Bad for Mercure and worst for Expedia for offering properties in such bad conditions

Clean hotel near airport. Room very comfortable and amazing shower, bathroom. Pool look great to relax and get some sun too. Excellent shuttle service to and from airport.

Classic European style hotel. Decor was up to date. Room was good size. Very clean. Large shower. Excellent price. Had restaurant and 2 bars. Staff was efficient. Offered shuttle to and from the airport for 6 Euro per trip.
