Very friendly, welcoming hotel with wonderful indoor and outdoor pools

Hotel Terme Merano was everything a 5-star hotel should be. It was a family trip with my adult son and we thought it was absolutely perfect! From the infinity pool out under the stars we looked out at the snow-capped mountains. It was great to have direct access to the thermal spa next door. There is nothing more anyone could ask for in a spa experience. The Süd Tyrol area of Italy is breathtaking!

The entire hotel is very close to perfect. The amenities and location are fantastic. We only regret not having a room with a nice view. But the entire staff were wonderful. Both theSky spa and the Garden spa were fantastic. And the restaurant was superb.

Great location, excellent staff and the food was the highlight. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

A truly outstanding hotel. World class spa and pool on top floor overlooking the mountains, excellent food both for dinner and breakfast, a cool hanging place in the bar. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely come back!

Beautiful, comfortable hotel right in the center of charming Merano. Friendly service, excellent breakfast. I am not a spa person, but there is access to 2 spas in the hotel the the Terme Merano right next to the hotel. I was disappointed in that the only time I tried to use the spa was the hot tub on the top of the hotel - there were 3 of them and they were all lukewarm at best, less than my body temperature. I was really looking forward to a nice hot tub for my bad knee and bad back and it was useless. Would expect more for a hotel supposed to be known for it's spa.

The hotel staff were so nice, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The room was large enough, not too big. The bed was comfortable. There was good water pressure in the bathroom. Expedia.ca sent an “initial impression” survey. I made one slight negative comment and hotel reacted right away. I truly felt bad since the issue was not at all a real problem. The certainly pride themselves at customer satisfaction. Highly recommended, we will be staying here again, without question.

Sky spa location and services is the best. Cannot see the worst

This is a top hotel and a place I have stayed at sox of the past seven years. I always go back to this hotel when in Italy.

Fantastic hotel in Merano Italy one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Amazing rooftop pool and sauna area. Restaurant options and service cannot was outstanding and spacious rooms. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Set in the heart of Merano with stunning views of the mountains, this hotel was superb. Spacious rooms, super clean, the most amazing buffet breakfast ever (try the muesli yogurt, omelettes, cappuccinos and cake selection - wow!). The hotel spa area is OK with three small pools, but it also links to the main thermal baths at no extra charge. These are the best Thermal baths I have been to with a wide range of indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzis.

Perfectly located and well equipped hotel. Right in the centre of Merano with private access to the modern spa centre next door. Very comfortable room with all amenities. Friendly staff. All round good visit - we will use this hotel again when we are in Merano.

The hotel is in a good location, central, and having direct access to the public pools of the Therme Meran is a big plus. However, staff is bureaucratic and rude and they nickel & dime you for everything. Upon check-in they gave my son a wristlet for pool access, which at only 3 yrs old, he lost, of course! Upon check-out they charged us $ 30 for the loss. Nobody told us about this penalty upon check-in, otherwise I would not have entrusted my 3 yr old with the wristlet. I gave staff a choice at check-out: They can be customer friendly and simply forget about the loss of a $ 0.25 cost wristlet and thereby create customer goodwill; or they can be bureaucratic, insist on fine print and legalese and fine us a ridiculous $ 30 for a 3 yr old losing his wristlet, create bad will and lose a repeat customer for good. They chose the latter. That tells you a lot about attitude. We do not support bureaucratic hotels that forgot where the money comes from. We will not come back. Hotel is both, hardware and software. The hardware here is ok, but the software here (i.e. staff) stinks.

This hotel is a little odd. Attached to a public pool facility but has pools and spa of its own. The front desk staff not particularly friendly or helpful. There is little or no air conditioning in this hotel. So in July it's hot. The room air conditioning is controlled by the front desk which is the most absurd thing I've ever heard of espcially in a hotel that's supposed to be four star. Restaurant closes at 9:00 which is also pretty early for what is supposed to be a spa or resort hotel.

Superb mix of location, facilities and competent staff.

Hotel staff were indifferent at best. Usually they seemed to be too busy to deal with us. Rooms smell of cigarette smoke, which is typical in Europe. Beds are just okay. Spa area was quite nice. Restaurant staff seemed very uptight and put upon when asked for something (another bottle of wine, a fork, butter). Yes it's close to the city center but I would never stay here again, based upon the attitude of the staff

Amazing setting with view of high mountains all around. Free access to incredible modern public Spa with dozens of different indoor and outdoor pools. Hotel aslo had its own pool and big spa. Hotel is in middle of a lovely town with nice restaurants. Our room was massive and very comnfortable, I think we must have been upgraded from our requested superior room to some sort of suite.

Great hotel and location. Expensive but worth it.
