I liked the parking and onsite EV charging and nearby Loch for a nice walk weather permitting. It was also to get into Glasgow and or Edinburgh. The hotel is showing its age and could do with some refurbishment but overall good experience. They did try to charge me again although had paid Expedia in advance.

The property itself is clean, no issue. but couldn’t sleep the whole night as the guest’s upstairs (right above our room) were like jumping thudding walking the whole night and it felt like they are litter my on your head. and the breakfast was very basic, juice , machine for tea and coffe, toast, and eggs beans etc.I was expecting more with the price we paid. Unfortunately i wouldn’t stay here again.

Overall it's ok - but I personally wouldn't go back. Room felt grubby. There were dead insects on the blind - I complained, moved to another room, but it was the same. On taking a shower, there was a really bad drainage smell. Breakfast had variety but there was a lot of grease.

Lovely staff and food

While i thought the hotel had great facilities/nice rooms the only down fall for us was that it was impossible for us to sleep due to knocking pipes above us. I did raise this concern with the night staff who to be fair offered to change our room, however i have a young daughter and did not want to disrupt her at this time of night. It was not possible to change the next day either as we had to be up and out early to go to a funeral. It was obvious from talking to staff they were aware of this problem. We only had a two night stay and if it wasn't for the noise at night i may have given 5 stars. I hope no one else ends up in this room unable to sleep as it is a lot of money to pay for very little sleep.

Good location friendly staff Carpets need a clean, lots of stains in corridor & bedroom Tables in breakfast room get a spray with crumbs/ food bits still on table, then crumbs etc get wiped onto floor Coach party arrived and bus reversed up to our bedroom window, didn’t appreciate the driver sitting with the engine running at 7.15am

Just stayed for 1 night and it was very good Clean though maybe a touch tired in areas but didn’t spoil anything Staff very friendly especially Courtney who checked us in and was very helpful

The staff were amazing and they were very helpful. Me and my wee boy had the best time

Hotel we arrived room cold no heater work also noise coming between wall pipe noise and also I paid family room showing on pictures wilcome basket never seen some of pictures not true and they give us little heater use all night Breakfast very poor and tv no smart tv no fridge in room don’t go

Staff were great, particularly Gary on the front desk. Room was lovely and big, but window didn’t open and it was very hot! Breakfast was very busy and a little disappointing. Don’t think there was enough staff on to keep everything topped up and clean - hotel fully booked for the Royal Highland Show but they must have been aware this would be an issue

Stayed for concert bed comfy only 2 teabags given no one on reception on return cobweb on light and hairdryer plugged where there was no mirror ? Breakfast good

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Really tired accommodation and public areas.

Great stay, from check in to check out. Young girl with purple hair on front desk was brilliant from start to finish. Lady on breakfast duties was brilliant, large party in at breakfast, was gonna take ages to get served,but she asked what we would like and brought it over.

I have stayed in the Alona over a dozen times and this will probably be my last. First of all the room which was supposed to be deluxe hadn’t been cleaned properly ,there was no plug in the bath. They charged me the amount for my stay and when I left told me it was payment for one night although the receipt said two, so had to pay again. The prices have really shot up but unfortunately the standard has remained pretty low

We received a warm and helpful welcome on arrival, and were kindly informed that there was a wedding taking place at the hotel that evening and that it may be a bit noisy - needless to say we didn't hear a thing! Our room was spacious and clean, beds were comfy and bathroom was spotless. Great view of the grounds and loch. Breakfast buffet was delicious and fresh, and again staff were lovely, same goes for when we checked out. We will definitely stay again as we want to come back and do more in the area during the summer :)

Really enjoyed my one night stay - everything was as promised. I also want to give a special shout out to Gary on the front desk who went the extra mile to accommodate me, despite a wedding taking place and him seemingly having to juggle ten people at once. Very professional and did a great job. Hope this is fed back and he's appreciated accordingly; he's an asset to the hotel for sure. All in all, great service and tidy hotel.

Plenty of electric chargers

The hotel has a very beautiful location, the staff is very polite and welcoming, especially on the reception. It’s ideal for a short stay, as well for a bigger group of people. We stayed here second time and are happy with the service.

Staff were very polite. Rooms very hot, only way for ventilation was opening windows but there was a notice on unit saying not to open due to flies. Room should have slept 4 the sofa bed could only sleep 1 and was VERY u comfortable. We went down for breakfast and there was hardly anything left as a bus load of indians had got there before us. I asked staff for a yogurt but they had run out. Very noisy outside through the night therefore i had to sleep in my car for a few hours.

Absolutely love this place. Extremely polite staff and the restaurant was very welcoming. The breakfast was great, all together a lovely experience.

No Vent and Air condition in room

Stayed here on a business trip, it was a welcome stop after 8 hrs driving. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great food, a good range of larger and some very tasty Scotch.

We went out for food and drinks and had good intentions of coming back to the bar and having a couple there before ending the night. We arrived back at the hotel at 9:30pm to be told the bar is closed due to an audit. Sorry what! Friday night and your bar is closed because of an audit. Very disappointing. If I knew this earlier when checking in I would have stayed out longer. Cleanliness in the shower in our room wasn’t the best, black mold in between tiles and missing/ loose tiles in the bathroom floor. During the night there was a tapping noise that happened every half hour that kept me up all night. Sorry but I doubt I will return to this hotel.

Nice quiet hotel and clean. Not really a great welcome from reception on arrival too busy looking at computer. Bar and restaurant empty for a Friday night. Waitress really nice and pleasant in restaurant. Won’t be hurrying back
