We were travelling on Motorcycles, the secure parking is excellent. The rooms are great. The breakfast selection very good. The rooms, however, have not got air con. The temp on the day we arrived was in high 20’s possible up to 30* if the window opened biting midges/gnats came in straight away. So a little uncomfortable in high heat. No drink! Not a bottle if water nir coffee making facilities provided?

The hotel was fine, but quite basic. It was functional for a short stay, but was not luxurious by any means.

Lovely updated hotel in Lisieux. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely! Clean. Front of house staff were so very friendly. We were here on a Sunday so local restaurants open were limited, were recommended to one that was open, excellent. Would absolutely stay again.

The hotel very clean, very close to the Basilique Sainte-Thérèse de Lisieux.

Very helpful staff. Great location right in the centre of the town. Easy walking distance to major attractions. Nice restaurant on site. Would highly recommend this property if you wish to visit this town. Rooms are little small but typical of Europe.

After a car breakdown we found ourselves unexpectedly at this hotel. We stayed three nights and the staff were exceptional. A very helpful lady helped us with our bags and she was able to provide us with help. In fact all the staff were friendly and really tried their best to make our stay as comfortable as it was. The restaurant was really pleasant and served great food. Our room was clean and comfortable and they let us stay in our room well after check out time. A young man at front desk organised transport to the ferry port and again helped us with bags etc. It is fair to say they went out of their way to help and 5/5 is not high enough rating. If we are ever in this region again I would have no hesitation in staying again. A great hotel and really lovely people. THANK YOU

Our stay at Le Grand Hôtel de l'Espérance was wonderful. We were there for two nights to explore some of the landmarks in Lisieux. Our check in experience was incredibly fast, friendly and courteous. The hotel staff were friendly throughout our stay, and the breakfast and bar facilities made our stay even more comfortable. The hotel is in easy walking distance from Lisieux train station, and great as a base for exploring everything in the city. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Lisieux. Highly recommended.

I came to this hotel just because it was on my way driving from Normandy to Paris, and I did not find any other hotel. It turned to be a pleasant stay, and we were pleased. Breakfast was very good. A nice stop on the way, but there is nothing really to do in Lisieux, if you are not looking for the Catholic significance of the place.

The only thing i would change is having a small coffee/tea pot in the room to make a cup in the morning or evening.

Our room was spacious, clean and well-appointed. It was surrounded by a number of restaurants with different menus and price ranges. The breakfast buffet offered in the hotel was wonderful....very extensive. It was also helpful to have the parking garage right next door to the hotel. Overall, a wonderful experience in a very delightful hotel with friendly, helpful, and efficient staff.

Hotel was outstanding! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely-comfortable, clean, quiet, and spacious with good ventilation via windows that opened and a large bathroom with tub. Parking was available across the street as well as in the hotel lot. Both the food and service in their restaurant were great. In addition, we enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast one morning and a full buffet the next.

The hotel is in the center of Lisieux among shopping and a quick uphill walk of five minutes to the shrine.

Stayed en route from a gite in the Loire to the ferry at Le Havre the next morning. Would happily stay there again.Only a brief overnight stop but we enjoyed a good dinner in a nearby restaurant, although most cafes and restaurants were closed or not serving food by 7-00pm on Saturday evening - extraordinary!

Great place, amazing people working there, friendly and kind. The hotel went through a lot of renovations in the past couple of years and it pays off! Restaurant is simply amazing and quite fair on pricing! I would recommend to anyone; business or pleasure!

hotel really good until a coach load of American school kids turned up on second evening, they spoilt our evening meal, were noisy in the night and spoilt breakfast next morning and the staff with them were no better. the hotel staff were very upset and apologetic but offered no refunds

We took the train from CDG after a long flight from the USA, not stopping in Paris. This was our first night's stop. The room was small, clean and comfortable. No frills but got the job done. Breakfast was adequate, cost 11 EUR, good coffee. Perfectly nice stay, not a luxury hotel, but I would go back.

The hotel was very clean and accommodating. It was very charming and you could tell the owners took much pride in their hotel. The breakfast which was extra, had a lot of variety, very good. Ate at the restaurant one night and the food was delicious. I would definitely stay again when visiting Lisieux!!!

Stayed 2 nights with my Mom to visit historical and religious sites of St Therese. Staff warm and welcoming and took time and great effort to make us comfortable. Restaurant located in hotel was excellent!! Rivaled the food we ate in Paris!! The hotel is charming with beautiful old world style that has been preserved. Would highly recommend. We stayed at multiple hotels on our journey through France and Italy and this was our favorite!!
