Beautiful property with views of the mountainous area around you and the sea in the distance. Nice breakfast. Curvy mountain roads to get up to the hotel. We thought the description said they had laundry facilities but that must have been a language difference.. they have a service where you can send your laundry out for a fee. Levanto a great choice to stay as you can catch the ferry to the Cinque Terre, it has nice beaches, a few bars along the water. Great choice. We were there 3 nights.

Excellent hotel with comfortable beds and rooms. Location is quiet and away from crowds. Beautiful scenery. Good service and helpful stuff.

The property was breathtaking. The staff was very helpful and the shuttle to Levanto was great. The pool area was very nice and had a great view. The only negative would be that there are no food options you can walk to but you can book the shuttle which is quick and easy.

Our room had a beautiful view overlooking the valley and the sea. It was clean and comfortable. Although a five minute drive from the beach and town centre, the shuttle van was convenient. Levanto is a much nicer place to stay than the Cinque Terra towns as it’s bigger and not nearly so crowded. Easy to get to all of the towns by train and boat. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were very friendly.

Upon checkout was forced to pay so called "baby fee" because we had a 2 y o toddler with us. We didn't receive any upgrades which could explain the charge and were never worned about it at check in. It was 40 euros for a toddler to sleep in the same bed as us for a night. The guy named Federic was extremely rude.

From check in to check out this hotel is top class. The staff will bend over backwards to make your stay memorable. The view is breathtaking. The rooms comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. We will be back next year.

The hotel with its 31 rooms is set out as a mini-village with the rooms set off open alleyways at three different levels. The alleyways open onto larger courtyards where you can sit and enjoy the scenery or enjoy that well earned drink after you daytime trek. All rooms have views onto either the mountains or onto the valley and the coastline below. We had one of the Superior rooms for our 2 night stay in early September. Lovely with great space and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The hotel management are very friendly and helpful. There are COVID-19 controls in place. Strategically placed hand washes/sanitisers are evident. Wearing masks in communal areas is mandatory. The breakfast buffet is served by the staff to whom you make your plate requests. They and only they handle your food before it is served .The system works well. Other than breakfast the hotel only offers a bar and coffee service. There is no restaurant per se - so lunch and dinner need to be taken elsewhere (unless you decide to make your own meal and eat-in). There is a swimming pool, though we did not get around to using it on this occasion. Parking at the property is controlled. There are 31 rooms and 31 parking spaces. There are also spaces in the covered garage (at extra cost). Also of note is that the hotel operates a shuttle service which can be used for downtown Levanto drop-offs and pick-ups. This can prove handy as finding a parking space in town can be a challenge - particularly at weekend.

A Family run hotel on top of a hill overlookinh Levanto. Friendly staff, excellent service and super clean with continental style breakfast. regular and prompt Shuttle service to town center and back to the hotel made it easy to get to the train station, resturants, and the beach. Highly recommend Al Terra di Mare

A lovely spot out of the way in Levanto. Especially good if you want to escape the crowds in the Cinque Terre villages. It is 2km outside the town of Levanto, not really walkable in the summer heat as it is a climb up to the hotel. I would recommend having a rental car as the hotel shuttle doesn’t operate from 11.10-4.50 and there is no restaurant or shop nearby so we did go hungry a couple of days. The hotel does have ice cream and crisps and drinks at the pool. The hotel shuttle is very handy for getting to the train/town but you need to book in and often we were too late and had to get taxis (only €10 so not too bad) The hotel is beautiful and run well by the family who are most helpful. We travelled with a toddler and it wasn’t really suited for her. The hotel being on a hilled terrace there were dangerous drops especially down at the pool area which made it hard to relax with a child. There are a lot of steps too as it is the layout of the site. A great place for a couples holiday as it is relaxing and quiet. We paid extra for a sea view, there isn’t too much of a sea view but the terrace was nice to sit out and look at the views of the hills. Overall a beautiful spot and would definitely recommend for a couples holiday and some peace and quiet. A good base to explore Cinque Terre.

The most beautiful place in Italy! The views are amazing and the service was comparable to the best hotels in the world. Breakfast was amazing and had everything and the best quality of pastries, bread, fruit.. Shuttle service was a delight. Can’t wait to go back!

BE AWARE - This is not a pet-friendly hotel. Even though the small print indicates pets are permitted, we were informed - via email (AFTER booking a non-refundable room) - that pets cannot be left alone - at any time - in the room. We have never come across that restriction before - and it was quite a shock. The hilly Cinque Terre area is challenging enough without having to bring both our small dogs with us. After threatening to leave - and pointing out that the dog restriction was not made known to us (why isn't the policy in the small print provided on the Hotels.com website?) - we were permitted to sign an agreement the hotel already had printed up that we would be responsible for any damages caused by the pets. (Isn't that standard practice anyway?) Needless to say, we were not a bit happy. Furthermore, we took advantage of the van service to downtown not knowing there was a 5 euro charge for doing so - a charge we only earned about upon checking out. IF you're going to provide a service with fee, there should be some sort of notice to guests. In addition, we and other guests complained about the lack of air conditioning in the rooms - even though the hotel's website indicates it has it. Rather, we were informed the hotel has "air ventilation". Huh? Of course you could always open the window and get some fresh, cooler air - along with bugs.

The Mountain views were amazing. The staff was excellent and helpful in arranging for our transportation needs. The breakfast buffet (included with the room) was fantastic! In October flies are annoying, unfortunately.

Lovely stay here. Great location for Cinque Terra. Shuttle to the train station then off we went. We also drove our car down to the town. Easy parking. Staff were great. Lovely clean room. Wonderful breakfast. I would highly recommend this property.

Mostly sightseeing at the very busy Cinque Terre but loved coming back to levanto where is was peaceful and beautiful. The staff at alla terra Del mere were so lovely, breakfast was decent and the free shuttle came in useful. Only one little issue, the air conditioning is not great and our room never got cooler than 25 degrees! That said, we will defiantly return
