Sometimes the testament to great hospitality isnt a result of things going perfectly but how you are treated when things don't go well. The room esthetics, ocean view, and sound of waves were perfect! However, I had a few small challenges with my shower knob (couldnt turn the shower off, needed help twice), my patio door (handle broke), and the A/C was on the struggle bus the whole visit. They tried to accomodate me and fix the issues as best and as quickly as they could. It was frustrating but I was grateful for their quick response and couldnt give a subpar rating for that reason alone! If you like to sleep cold, I would not recommend this location as the thermal load on the rooms with all that great sunlight is just too much for the one unit on a hot summer day.

St. Croix owes us nothing largely in part to our stay at the Waves. It is a boutique lodging only hosting 11 guest rooms that are available beautifully decorated for the boho chic enthusiasts. Each room hosts a private deck that has indescribable views of the island’s ocean views (along with the best ocean sounds we’ve ever heard considering we sleep every night with prerecordings of such). It is an adult only lodging and coupled with the decor, there is an undeniably sultriness added to ignite (reignite) any flames. Additionally, it is walkable to some surprises! We are a young-ish black couple, so we wanted seclusiveness with fun and were able to have that with the location. We walked 5-7min to the beach that had restaurant options and bar options with good music! In our opinion, it is on the best side of the island. Anywhere you need to get, is no more than 20-25min drive (if that). A notable, the hotel host one of the best restaurants on the island, AMA. Reservations recommended and the food is divine… if they have the coconut curry mussels, GET THEM! I won’t keep going, bc obviously I’m obsessed with this property, if you think you should…YOU ABSOLUTELY SHOULD! The views and ambience are unmatched!

Very peaceful and relaxing stay. It was a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed the kitchenette bc we enjoy cooking. Would definitely stay here again!!!!

My wife and i loved it. The view is amazing! Room was clean, comfy and quiet. Beach and snorkeling just a short walk with restaurants near by or a short drive. Parking was a little confusing during resort restaurants hours but manageable. Can't wait to go back.

I want to start by saying the view from the property is amazing. Beach is near by, in walking distance. The walls of the property are thin, we have busy quests above us making lots of noise during our stay. No gym at the property. If your plans are to rest and relax, get away from it all, it's a prefect option.

The waves! That's all I need to say! My girlfriend and I had a great stay. We walked to the beach and snorkeled where we saw turtles, fish, and even a barracuda. Ama had great service and food. Very romantic and quiet! Love this place! And will be back!

Room was beautiful and modern - looks just like the pictures. Views of ocean were amazing. Already planning my next trip.

It would have been 5 stars because the decor and view were excellent but apparently we didn’t notice the first night they had an infestation of roaches, probably because we didn’t stay up talking at the table killed literally about 7 roaches. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, checked out the next morning and bought tickets to return home. Let the manager know didn’t offer any thing other than sorry , still haven’t heard from anyone and it’s been a week. Will be contacting my credit card issuer to get a refund.

Overall, our stay at The Waves at Cane Bay was enjoyable. The oceanfront location provided stunning views and the on-site restaurant and bar offered good amenities. However, our experience was marred by the presence of cockroaches in our room, which was disappointing. Despite this issue, the overall experience was positive.

The room was extremely nice in decorations and cleanliness. The kitchenette was very useful as there’s not a ton of dining nearby, but there’s two bars with food within walking distance. The location of the hotel is gorgeous and quiet. The balconies are private and give you a very good view of the water. Cane bay beach is a short walk away and has options for diving and snorkeling the reef. We were extremely glad we chose to stay there and will definitely be back.

The perfect getaway!

We loved the hotel and the area! It was very quiet and everyone was friendly! We got to hang with the locals and stay away from most of the resort/touristy stuff. The waves crashing from the balcony was the highlight of the hotel ! The drinks at the connected bar were amazing!

This is such a perfect spot for a vacation! Private and quiet, with bars, food, and beach right down the road. Definitely recommend this location as a romantic get away and not for family groups as there’s not much for kids to do unless you drive into Christianstead. Staff were kind and personable, rooms were private and gorgeous. That view! 10/10 recommend.

Charlette was very friendly and great to talk with. This place was absolutely beautiful! Loved the kitchenette so we had the option to cook but it was also within walking distance of good food down the street. Fun little tide pool to cool off in and watch the waves crash in.

The only problem: If you stay in room number 4 the service trucks will wake you up every day at 7:00 am other than that excellent place.

Unique boutique hotel right on the ocean with waves crashing outside. Room has a kitchen with refrigerator and small stove. It is a ten minute walk to Cane Bay beach, which is beautiful. Very nice restaurant at hotel for dinner $ and a couple restaurants by the beach. Only breakfast option is a food truck by the beach on days with a T or S. Closes at noon. You need a car to get to other places or taxi. Not close to stores or the cities, about a half an hour.

The view from the room was nothing short of breathtaking. Falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the waves was EVERYTHING. The staff was friendly and was able to satisfy any request we had timely. If you want to vacation in a beautiful setting, make your reservations today. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I visited St. Croix for the first time for his birthday. I never leave reviews but We loved our stay at Cane Bay and I want to tell everyone! The room was directly above the crashing waves and beautiful Caribbean blue water- which was so peaceful during sleep. The full kitchen in our room (we booked the superior with kitchenette) was perfect for cooking our own meals when we wanted. The bed was comfy. The place was so clean. Everyone from the housekeeping crew to the front desk were always so welcoming and friendly. Ama (the restaurant) had some of the best food we had on the island with an incredible view… and do yourself a favor- get their bread pudding! Thank you to the Waves at Cane Bay for making our trip memorable. We loved our stay!

Do you want a magical and mystical Caribbean experience? Then this is your place to stay! I have been traveling the Caribbean islands for over 20 years, being the Explorer that I am, my motto is "Never the same island twice". I have never stayed in such a relaxing, beautiful, and peaceful place before. (This place could convince me otherwise). The Waves literally sits right on the water's edge. Walking into my room just blew me away! The Sea was right there, waves crashing right below me! Sitting on the comfortable porch was like being on a boat. I love small venues without the big resort hype and noise. If you seek the same, you will also be excited to stay there. The beautiful Cane Bay Beach is out your front door. The restaurant AMA was a unique experience too. Sitting right on the grotto with the waves crashing up to the restaurant. The food was delicious, the wine and drink selection were extensive, and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. They are always crowded as people (including locals) from around the island go there for dinner, so be sure to make a reservation. The website's pictures are consistent with the bohemian feel of the room. The staff were always helpful. Room 4 is fabulous! A large corner unit with surrounding windows. Note: There is not an elevator, so if you are on the second floor you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. I was fortunate because when I arrived, Tom w/Maintenance, carried them up for me.
