We really enjoy The Doryman everytime. It’s our favorite get away Hotel. The only thing that could be better is the coffee set up earlier in the morning. 8am is a bit late.

The place is amazing and fun - perfect oceanfront location, restaurant - and fun bars and beach area .

Noise level is high, for a mid-week, off season visit. Noise is not high from outdoor/tourist traffic, but from staff themselves. Evening/overnight staff were extremely loud and unpleasant.
It's not the best spot to travel with a child, as there are many stairs and you have to park off site (through a busy parking lot). Additionally, there are no bathtubs.
Pros are the location, can't beat it and the breakfast was sufficient. There was also a lovely woman staffing the desk during the day-appreciate her!

We loved staying at the Doryman's Inn and it is a fabulous location! It has the perfect vibe for the name and it has very comfortable facilities. We felt very secure and enjoyed our stay. One issue for our room number 8 was the location on the street with a lot of parking lot and street noise. However the ear plugs we were given from the front desk really helped the situation and we were able to get good sleep. It was so nice to see the ocean driectly from our room and to watch the sunset in the evening. The continental breakfast was well done.

I came to celebrate my anniversary. I was contacted by Lauren before my stay and was offered packages for our special night. I decided not to get the packages but the option was very nice. Also, after speaking to Antoinette at the front desk she had informed us that she could help book a fishing trip at one of the local charters, unfornately we were only staying the one day and could not take advantage of this perk. The room was very cozy and we loved the old style decor. The location is great, TONS of options for drinks and dinner within walking distance. The view of the beach right outside our window was amazing as well. I would highly recommend and will be looking to stay again for another special occasion. Another cool thing is it is right in the heart of downtown Newport and you feel like a VIP having a private entrance up to your room right off the main street.

the only negative is that this faces the Newport Pier parking lot which is very active and loud until around 2 AM

The rooms are above the Main Street at Newport Beach. It is very noisy at night from the revealers on the street below.
Also the “breakfast” was very minimal. Nothing hot except coffee/tea. Not what we expected from a Bed and Breakfast.

A lot of homeless people around, felt unsafe. And conflict at parking after the previous team let go.

We loved our stay here. Doryman's is a unique property in a spectacular beachfront location. We felt like we were staying in a historic mansion. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was immaculate, comfortable, and well appointed. Nights can be noisy because of the surrounding bars and restaurants, but there are many choices and we didn't have to drive anywhere. Parking is limited due to the location but there are spaces reserved for guests as well as a loading area directly in front. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning.

Charming, kitsch, gem. Beautiful rooms, very comfy beds,perfect California sunset view, in room fireplace and falling asleep to the sound of pacific waves- what’s not to like? Excellent restaurant downstairs with in room options. Was a solo business trip but would highly recommend for romantic weekend or anniversary. Only feedback clearer communication when booking on how to park. Everything great would definitely go again.

We were able to switch rooms after arrival just because we saw how beautiful room #6 is! Had an amazing lobster and steak dinner served in our room - loved it!!!!

This hotel is super cute, cozy, clean and right off the beach. Which was exactly what we were looking for. Anthony the front desk agent was very helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. My only issue was the bed was comfortable but super squeeky. I woke up my husband getting up to use the restroom in the middle of the night.

This was the second time at Dorymanns in. We spent the whole weekend and true to form it was perfect. The staff r awesome and very helpful. U cant beat the location, it literally on the beach and the views r amazing. I recommend Dorymanns to everyone.

We enjoy our stays at Doryman's. We had the corner beachside room and it was beautiful to look out at the beach and pier. Check-in is easy, there are open, top deck patios to sit and enjoy the sunrise/sunsets. I love that each room looks different. Only drawback is that the parking is across the lot behind a business. But you can park upfront for check-in. We would definitely come back to this gem.

Best location front of beach, pier, restaurants, coffee places. Service super friendly. The only thing is that noise from party people is loud on weekends. Overall a great stay.
