Property getting run down. Carpet in room was very dirty and gross. Nice big rooms with kitchenette. Tv never worked.

Very clean and well kept, loved the full kitchen

This hotel was very convenient for my one-night stay in Minot. The room and other parts of the hotel were clean enough, it was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was satisfactory. The check-in could have been easier, and the check-out more polite (don't just say "No problem" when I say thanks and drop off the key cards). But I would definitely stay here again for the price.

After a long journey, it was a pleasant surprise to have a recliner in the room! The hotel and the rooms were very clean!

Property seemed nice enough. Front doors in bad shape. Tiles under sink were laying on the floor. Shower wasn’t the best. Water temp kept fluctuating. Front check in staff wasn’t friendly at all. Other than that room was nice. Didn’t do the breakfast.

Very clean hotel! Quick check in. Breakfast was good. Large rooms. Our room was so big, there should have been more furniture to sit on besides just one chair and two beds. Bathroom was spotless.

The hotel was close to the mall, other big box retailers and restaurants. The bed was decent but on the firmer side. Our overall stay was great with the exception of the curtains that let in a lot of light, in the early morning, at the bottom. I understand they don’t want to cover the A/C but a blackout blind would be nice. The room was a suite and had all the amenities you would need for any type of stay. And I judge cleanliness by attention to detail, the bathroom fan grate had so much dust in it, I am sure no air was escaping thru it. This is an issue at many hotels so it must be hard to turn your neck up, as a cleaner, to see it. The breakfast was good too. Hot items like sausage patties, eggs, waffles, toast (bagels, bread, English muffins), coffee, Tea (with various creamers & sweeteners) & cubed hashbrowns. Cold items like cereal, yogurt, milk, hard boiled eggs, cream cheese, butter & juice.

Property was exceptionally clean and the rooms were well equipped and quite large. The breakfast was far better than average. Will definitely stay there again.

Have stayed here quite a lot over the years, still a good place to stay but reaching the age and condition where some updates would be nice.

The front desk staff was efficient and accommodating, and I really have no complaint, but the overall experience would have been 5-Stars if they had smiled. That's all. Just smiles.

This hotel needs some TLC and better quality control oversight. Severely clogged drain is unacceptable. How housekeeping would ignore that is unheard of as there is no way they could clean the bathroom and not notice standing water in the sink. I purchased drano from Walmart which helped some. Blood stain on one of the comforters. Covering the blood stain comforter with a clean sheet is also still unacceptable. Protruding nails on the headboard where trim was missing, completely dangerous & unacceptable. Daily housekeeping must not be a thing as the room was never cleaned. Requested new towels & someone from housekeeping finally did take out the trash & supply fresh towels. All these issues were in room 304. Staff seemed nice. Maybe a lack of training & management leadership? Community patio area was nice with 3 gas grills for use. First two mights there were no grilling utensils, I purchased some from the store and suddenly the hotel had all the grills stocked with nice grilling utensils. While not one of the more expensive hotels in town, it was not in the cheapest category either. So I expected better standards.

Nice clean and comfortable place to stay. Rooms are spacious and the staff friendly and professional. Complimentary breakfast is quite good with lots of selections. Would stay here again.

Room is ok. Cabinet doors in Kitchenette are barely hanging on. Bathroom was not really clean. Big room. Very quiet. Close to shopping and restaurants.

This is a well appointed facility. The room was spacious and comfortable. It far exceeded our expectations!

The staff member seemed annoyed when we arrived because he was trying to fix the front door of the hotel. He was very curt. Can’t say I blame him- shouldn’t be his job. We did not interact with any other staff member until checkout. When I approached the desk, there was a sign that said the staff member was away and to call a number for assistance. This wouldn’t have worked for me as I’m from out of country and wasn’t using my phone to make calls. A staff member was there and came out of a back room, so luckily that didn’t matter. I found it odd that this sign was up when there was a staff member there. It seems like maybe they’re understaffed, especially if they’re having to do maintenance work themselves. Our room was very hard to access. It took several tries to get it to unlock. I didn’t bother to call anyone because I wouldn’t expect a maintenance person to be able to fix the problem. It seemed like the key card mechanism was worn out and needed replacing. We eventually got in the room and it was adequate for our needs as we just needed a place to sleep and it was fine for that. It was not the cleanest, however. The drain cover in the bathtub was broken and there was clumps of hair inside. The toilet also smelled like urine as if it had not been properly cleaned. Overall, the hotel was fairly rundown and grubby but not the worst I’ve seen in Minot. I didn’t have the breakfast, but my kids went down and found unappealing-only sausage, eggs, and gravy.

When I woke the morning on June 25, 2024 at 8 a.m. and tried to have a shower, the water was freezing cold. I don't have a problem waiting for the water to warm up but when you check the water at 10:00 a.m. and it's still cold and you have to check out at 11:00 a.m. I was frustrated. I told the manager when we checked out at 10:30 a.m. that the shower was freezing cold and he went to check on the shower and came back and said to me in my opinion condescendingly that I had to turn the shower handle to H. I didn't appreciate to be spoken to in such a manner. I have enjoyed staying at the Hawthorn but going forward I am not sure if I will stay here again.

Very comfortable room and helpful staff. The internet was very slow! The west entrance door was inoperable.

The room was nice and clean. The lightbulb in the bathroom was burnt out. The guy at the desk told me it would be changed but never was. Our room key did not work most of the time. I had to go down to the desk about 10 times during the 2 nights we stayed here to let them know it wasn't working. They never did anything for us except run it through their key machine. It would work once then and that's it. Very frustrating and annoying! The day we were checking out and I had to go down to the desk, again, to talk to someone about the key it turned out to be the manager. He said nobody told him about this problem we were having. He finally figured it out that it was the battery in our door that was the problem. He offered us a free room next time we're in the city. He was the only person that tried to figure out what the problem was. Other than that our stay at the hotel was great!

Breakfast food items (powdered eggs) are less than tasty & limited. Need more fruit other than apples. All cereal is sugared,! Staff removes food items before breakfast time is over. A new toaster is needed. Takes several minutes to make toast & usually a line of people waiting to use a 2 slice toaster!!!

Check in was horrible. The person at the front desk took forever to check me in and kept writing all the information from my drivers license, and my credit card too. Usually they’ll make me do the incidentals with my card but they didn’t do that here all she did was ask if she can take it off my card?? I hope I don’t get mysterious charges either. Also, I asked for an extension on my check out and they were going to charge me $25 for an extra hour!!! Wow! I’m never staying here again and neither should you!
