For a pretty nice location, this property is tired and worn out. It needs a facelift. The room smelled smokey and the bathroom was awful. They did have lots of towels

Property was older but mostly remodeled and clean. Staff was great. Breakfast was good. Right on the beach and not overly crowded. I would stay there again.

DeSoto was a great place to stay for our vacation at Tybee. Staff were polite, professional, and friendly. And the beach was right there. The hotel was convenient to shopping and restaurants. We will be back definitely

Terrific 3 day visit to Tybee island on my own. The stay at DeSoto was peaceful and quiet. Hotel is just feet from the beach, with a pool to cool off when things get too hot. Room service came every day, and they immediately took care of a room issue I had upon arriving (minor issue with AC that was addressed - cool air flowed quickly afterward).

The hotel is a bit older but clean and very functional. The microwave and fridge in the room allowed us to make snacks and bring them to the beach. The breakfast was perfect with pastries and little breakfast biscuits. Front desk staff very nice and able to give us some great dining recommendations.

Older property but excellent location

The DeSoto Beach Hotel was steps away from the beach. There is a nice boardwalk to the beach. The pool is small but very clean. The property overall is a bit dated, but it is very clean! The staff were very friendly. Parking was easy too. We would definitely stay again. Our room had a small fridge and a microwave and coffee maker. The microwave and coffee maker weren't near a plug - which we thought was odd. Overall - great place to stay in Tybee Island. We didn't eat the breakfast but there seemed to be plenty of continental type breakfast foods and coffee.

The staff were very nice. This was only a very short walk to the beach over the dunes. The o ly negative is that the continental breakfast juice machine was too watered down.

We had time for a quick trip to Tybee, and the Desoto Beach Hotel was perfect! We could see the ocean from our balcony, had a short walk to the beach, and appreciated the breakfast.

Very nice staff. Check In was very easy. Room was dirty, we did make the staff aware and they gave us an additional cleaning. Still not real clean. Bathrooms are very small. Beds are clean and comfortable. Breakfast consisted of danish, cereal, bagels and cranberry juice that tasted like colored water. Hotel location is great being that it is right on the beach.

I liked the fact that we were right on the beach. Room was nice and clean. Definitely worth the cost of the hotel. I would stay here again if ever in the area.

The staff was Great!!! Easy access to the beach

Property is old. We upgraded to a beachfront room and it wasn’t aired out, which is not their fault. We walked to Sundae Cafe and it was sooo good. The walkway to the beach over the dunes was well maintained, spacious, and private. We had a great time even though jellyfish were stinging people in the area.

Everything was very old. The door to our room even had light coming through to the outdoor hallway. This is a MOTEL, not a Hotel. The toilet was like a toddler toilet, extremely low. Overall, it was clean but the whole area (Tybee Beach) was run down and not updated. I won't go back to this area even if we stayed somewhere else. People and staff were nice.

We enjoyed our stay at The Desoto. It was very quiet, our room was delightfully clean, and we actually liked that the hotel wasn't like so many other more modern hotels. I would suggest some improvement in the breakfast offerings.

While the locations is great for the beach the Hotel itself is just average and not worth the room rates that are charged.

Best part of this hotel is actually being on the beach. No crossing roads or having to move cars. Just walk down to the dune crossing bridge and you are there. They will set up umbrellas and chairs, so no need to carry all that.

Close to the beach. Room had a weird odor . Wish shower had a better pressure and water flow.

This is NOT a hotel. it should be name as motel 6. this place is dirty and so out dated. The elevator is old, smell and blow out hot air.

Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, easy beach access, walking distance to a few attractions including the beach, a restaurant and a souvenir shop. Other attractions required a ride, such as the marine science center or the shopping district.

We had a great time here. The location to the beach is perfect. Everyone was super friendly, parking was easy, the pool is tiny but it was never once crowded. I will definitely stay here again.

This is not the only beachfront hotel on Tybee Island. The room was not very clean. I found feces Smeared on the lid of the toilet seat. There were bits of trash scattered here and there through out the bathroom area. The bathtub did not drain very well and the water had a funny smell. They were supposed to clean the room every three days they never came except when we requested more towels. The furniture was very old and rundown for the price that we paid for the room. The parking lot was also very tight.

Property and room while older was clean and well maintained. Staffing was sufficient, friendly and responsive. On site parking was sufficient. Property didn't have an on site convenience store and shopping in the area was scarce. Continental breakfast was good except there's no gluten free options.

Cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. Well maintained. By the way, I never leave reviews and I travel frequently, but felt compelled to do so on this property.
