If I could give this boutique hotel SIX stars, I would. The personal touch was everywhere. Holly, managing the front reception on my arrival, was amazing. She helped me sort out connections to a few things, as my phone did not working Australia due to the shut down of the 3G network. Asking questions, she was able to offer suggestions for meals and things to see and do. The in luded breakfast was a treat and perfect way to start the day. The decor is stunning in the public rooms. The guest rooms are a bit dated, and the water temperature and pressure remind me of England. But overall, the locationand the atmosphere are simply divine.

Only thing to improve would be the breakfast menu, it’s a small choice of bread and toppings, tarts.

The property was in a good position to walk everywhere. Cosy and warm, staff super helpful. Only letdown was tiny bathroom in a family suite with broken fixtures.

Amazing hotel! The blonde girl at reception who checked me in was a gem :) she was so friendly and helpful. The room itself was spacious and comfortable - amazingly warm blanket on the bed. Continental breakfast was delicious and top coffees and teas too. The building is so pretty as well.

Large room with high ceilings. Only issue was no elevator and had to carry heavy bags a ways and up stairs! Lovely dining room and breakfast. Sitting areas decorated nicely.

It had charm of an old english property. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was conveniently & centrally located and the Salamanca markets were easily within walking distance. It was close to the wraf too, so it was easy to catch the Catamaran to Mona.

The room was unclean. There was human hair on the headboard over the bed and very thick dust on the fan covers. There was a sign saying fan must be used when showering but the fan did not work. Probably a good thing or the dust would have sprayed everywhere! The staff were courteous. The communal rooms where nice like the façade but the room did not seem like it belonged to same property. The toilet light didn’t work, it only came on with room light.

This is a historic home repurposed into a hotel. The building is lovely with amazing woodworking, sitting room, and fireplaces. You can really feel the history. It was easy to walk to the water front and many historic sights, including the Whaler Bar, opened in 1831. We had a very nice large room with comfy bed and plenty of hot water. Plus, the Continental brekkie was quite nice!

IWe loved the wonderful heritage building that had been fit out with all the modern conveniences. Very friendly staff and a good option breakfast. Easy walk to waterfront!

Old historic building that is a really nice and friendly hotel. I loved my room, the complimentary continental breakfast, and the friendly staff. Location is great, just a short walk down to the wharfs and a short walk to/from the airport express bus.
If I ever get back to Hobart, I’ll stay here again!!

I thought it was odd that breakfast was Included, but you had to pay to get a good cup of coffee. Instant coffee and tea were part of the complementary breakfast, but a brewed cup of coffee was $5

Very quiet and peaceful. Not a modern hotel, but clean and lovely. Not huge only 15 rooms. So great for something quiet and intimate. Historical property does not have usual modern conviences.

Our Room was Small with Toilet and Shower door opening into the bedroom. It was like sleeping in a bathroom. The rest of the Building was lovely with an old world feel, Friendly staff and good complimentary breakfast. I would recommend it as it was close to everything and had limited off road parking (for a price). Hotel seemed to be in a transition period with work being done on some Bedrooms. Great potential.

From the moment I entered the reception, I felt welcomed. Staff accommodated my request for accessible room and offered to store my luggage. The room was clean and comfortable with lovely touches such as beautiful cups for tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent and check in and out very easy. Definitely recommend!

I liked the size of the room. I appreciated the sitting room/salon with the contemporary artworks as well as the large dining area and continental breakfast. I very much appreciated the service provided by a very helpful, cheerful and friendly hotel representative who helped us with our bags and provided us with helpful information and greeted us at breakfast. She was very efficient and very attentive to serving breakfast, all with a smile.

The building is a gorgeous colonial style building with period style furniture to match. Room was beautifully warmed up on my arrival.
The room was a bit faded in its glory but had lots of character and the bed was comfortable.
Only thing is despite the double glazed windows, i could still hear traffic noise. If you bring earplugs, it should be fine.
Location is very convenient to eateries on Collins st and only 10 -15 mins to waterfront.

The hotel double booked us despite confirmation emails so we got a phone call a few hours before we were to arrive saying we couldn't have the 2 rooms we had booked
They could only offer us 1 toom for 4 unrelated people and 1 bathroom
They were very apologetic but it was a terrible shock.as we were flying in from interstate and had to search for another hotel.at the last minute and ended up paying much more for our accommodation
